Introversion is a word to describe a socially reserved individual.. just as extroversion is used to describe someone as an outgoing, overt individual.

Alpha/Beta is just a word that is coined to express certain personality traits and social behavior. While not in an absolute form.. men and women certainly do fall somewhere on either side of the spectrum. This is an analogy if you haven't caught on yet.There is no reason to bring wolves into the discussion whenever this word is used on GAG everyone. 😂

The reason for "shaming" (at least in terms of alphas, not so much betas) in my opinion/view is that most people don't know how to translate "alpha" traits and behavior into a manner that is relevant to today's society. Fact is, if you want to go with the "traditional" definition, many modern violent psychotics would be labeled as "alpha." And yes, in my mind I do see being quick to react to situations with unnecessary violent behavior an "alpha" trait. Also, forcing yourself on others. Because this is what defines alphas in the animal kingdom and in "old world views." Question is, what defines an alpha in modern society?

It would make sense to use "alpha" to refer to a couple like the Clintons -- married, ambitious, and on top of the social hierarchy.

It makes *no* sense to use "alpha" to refer to dudes who get lots of pussy, because... that's not what alpha means.

Well that's how I view alpha as well.. because in truth that is definition.

Introversion has so many definitions for given scenarios and situations.. While one might describe an introvert as someone as shy and afraid when he approached the girl in his class. The other might describe introversion given the same scenario but instead acting more reserved and confident. That same concept applies to Alpha/Beta. There are different perceptions on the definition. Whether it's misinterpreted in your opinion or not it doesn't constitute anything with the analogy that I've given.

The exact definition of an analogy is "a comparison between two things, typically on the basis of their structure and for the purpose of explanation or clarification."

That's the point. You could use it in any of those definitions pertaining to the correct scenario. It adds positive value to a discussion simply because it's a word used to describe something. You used the alpha to describe the clintons and how they are married, ambitious, and on top of the social hierarchy. It's easier to type out 'alpha' than it is to type out 'ambitious, and on top of the social hierarchy.' In your definition those are synonymous so given in a similar context.. why just use the word?
