5 Reasons Why Muslims are Actually Normal - Even Awesome - People

So, I know that a lot of people have a negative image about Muslims because of the media and because of some extremists, but here are some reasons why Muslims are actually awesome/normal people:

1. Muslims love helping other people

As a matter of fact, Muslims are obligated to help other people. It is the absolute duty of a Muslim to pay zakat which means helping the poor or giving charity in our lives.

2. Muslim people are obligated to be forgiving.

In the Quran, it states that if someone FIRST attacks you, you have the right to defend yourself, but as soon as that person backs down, you must forgive them.

3. Muslims are very clean

Before every prayer, we perform wudu. Which is washing your hands, mouth, nose, face, hair, back of your ears and feet.

Imagine washing those areas 4-5x a day, you'd never smell bad haha

4. Muslims are told not to judge and to be kind to everyone.

5. Allah (God) is the most forgiving and merciful.

In Islam, if God is so forgiving and merciful, then Muslims should be as well..only Allah knows best.

All in all, Muslims are normal people who love the earth that they live on and want to do nothing but spread love and kindness. There are 1.6+ billion Muslims in the world, imagine what would've happened if all Muslims were extremists or fit the the stereotypes of what islamaphobists think of Muslims.

i just can't understand some negative comments here. some even don't understand or want to understand their way of life and their values and beliefs when they bash and harshly mock Islam/muslims.
1) Granted there are rogue elements in any group. Muslims are not too different, they are also a group of people.
2) Look into history and there are more gore and more violence because of certain other religions or groups ( i am not going to name them, because i dont hold contempt those religions or beliefs, but the rogue and deviated thinking within them).
3) Islamophobia and Hate-Islam is a fact. It has spread in last two or three decades.
4) Look into all the violence by muslim terrorist groups. Look into their past and who recruited them, or who are helping them, who are giving them bombs or arms to fight and create terror. You will find real Capitalist culprits who are behind creating fear and wars. Only the face is islam. ( check whose artillery and arms ISIS uses, whose bombs, which countries sell them arms,... Look who created Osama Bin Laden).
One must be educated when one has to bash a many century old religions, whether its Christianity, Buddhism, Judaism or whatever. There must be a reason millions and millions of people follow these. Somethings really good must be in it!!!

There is good and bad to everything. I feel deeply sorry for Muslims because their stereotype (at least in the US) is based off of ISIS. ISIS is bad without a doubt and I can understand why some would think all Muslims are bad because of it being all over the media. But I know many kind and peaceful Muslims and people should be educated about Islam to help defeat this stereotype. From what I've seen, it's similar to Christianity, so we all aren't really that different :). Good take <3

So, yes, most Muslims are probably okay people. It's just that they tend to be okay people with absolutely abhorrent beliefs about how society should be run, especially if they're religious.

What does "normal" mean? What normal for a Muslim may not be normal for me or someone on the other side of the world. It's like what people do with the bible and they pick out the bad stuff and those are good Christians. And then there's people who take it all literally and hate gay people and build arks and other stupid things (Noah's ark isn't a literal thing just to point out) those are bad Christians.

Same thing, lots of good Muslims who are smart enough to interpret the bad parts of the quaran in a positive way, and also terrorists who take those parts literally and forget the rest of it.

There is one difference though. Westbroro baptists don't fly planes in buildings or shoot up nightclubs. But for some reason the bad Muslims think it's their job to kill everyone.

Is it your religion? Cultural stuff? A little of both? Idk😕 But there definitely is some strain between America and Muslims on a basic level. I just hope it gets fixed before trump does something REALLY fucking stupid.

I met many Muslims here at home and while traveling Muslim countries on my own or with my wife. I may have had luck but I met only nice people, be it in Cairo, in Istanbul, Tunis, Tangier or among the Bedouins in South Tunisia.

So I would suggest looking up the marriage Laws of the country like being only 9 in Iran and 10 in Saudi Arabia. Look up Sharia Law on marriage and you will see that its still barbaric. There was a push in 2011 to change the age in Saudi Arabia to 13 and here is a quote from Dr. Salih bin Fawzan, a prominent cleric and member of Saudi Arabia’s highest religious council, issued a fatwa asserting that there is no minimum age for marriage and that girls can be married “even if they are in the cradle.”
