The news media concentrates on the bad and end of the world.
It has been that way for half a century, with whatever crises of the week leading toward the end.
And yet the world gets less polluted, we get more and more toys to play with, and the poorest among us have riches unimaginable to the "rich" of two decades ago.
Nuclear weapons have made all out war a thing of the past.
Don't watch the news for a while and you will feel a lot better.
Nobody wants to go to war. Your reluctance is nothing new. But sometimes you need to, and that means doing your duty alongside everyone else who would rather not but knows what will happen to their country and families if they don't.
Everyone has too much to lose now by going to war - any nations that aren't in extensive trade relationships with the rest of the world are considered pariahs.
Stop playing Battlefield, CoD and Fallout if they are causing you this much alarm.
Yeah, good point. That sort of thing is not widely publicized.
The US is far less polluted than it was a quarter century ago, has about half the violent crime, and has the same amount of trees it had a century ago.
And worldwide, far less people are being killed by war.
But watching the news you would certainly not know that.
@badboy666 But what you might not known is that you are 36 times more likely to die in a bathtub then in a terrorist attack. And yet the media blows it out of proportion. I'd also like to see where your statistics are from.
@DonkeyRick69 You dont think ww3 would be very bad? You can't see a particularly plausible scenario in which the human race could be knocked back hundreds, even thousands of years?
I think we wouldn't survive and our nuclear reactors would go critical in a month. Dying of tumours and cancer is how most survivors of the nuclear fire would die
Even if you did have guns, and spare parts, and the ability to make more ammunition... a global conflict requires global transportation and logistics in order to support large armies travelling around the world to fight. This is why it wasn't until the 20th century that technology enabled a global conflict, and that needs a a huge supportive infrastructure back home.
Yes, Einstein was making a point, but it doesn't stand up to scrutiny.
@DonkeyRick69 and yet it wasn't until 1914 that we called it a world war? But no, you're right, everyone else is wrong. And even for that war, they had the logistical support of great empires - not people throwing rocks at each other.
@LaikaFreefall Isn't obvious that I really am that stupid?
Don't worry so much about what may never happen. If the war doesn't get you, climate change or famine probably will. Or you could get sick, or shot by the cops. Or shoot by gangs.
Lots of opinion, no facts. Boring, fake af news, and even a little bit sexist when you imply that mostly men will fight your "world war". Women can kill people too ya know.

So your point is that you don't like war? Well that's very unique of you.
by the way the first picture comes from a video game called World in Conflict
I didn't know. But it does resemble war of the powerful nations and forces.
Nobody wants to go to war. Your reluctance is nothing new. But sometimes you need to, and that means doing your duty alongside everyone else who would rather not but knows what will happen to their country and families if they don't.

Actually contrary to popular belief, the world is more peaceful then it has ever been in history.
For now...
Yeah, good point. That sort of thing is not widely publicized.

@badboy666 news bring my happiness down and only spreads negativity. I don't need that kind of drama in my life as i have more than enough of that.
@badboy666 But what you might not known is that you are 36 times more likely to die in a bathtub then in a terrorist attack. And yet the media blows it out of proportion. I'd also like to see where your statistics are from.
I'd like to know why you think dying in the bathtub is 36 times amplified compared to a terrorist strike.

The first part of this video talks about terrorism, then it goes into the other stuff like crime.
"I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones." (Albert Einstein)
Yeah he said a lot of things
.
@DonkeyRick69 I guess it really depends.
If all you can muster as weapons are sticks and stones, you can't fight a global conflict.
@meatballs21 there will be enough guns left over
@meatballs21 My guess is it wasn't meant literally...
@meatballs21 the British and French fought on every continent in the 7 years war
@meatballs21 Standing up to scrutiny? you dont get the whole metaphor thing, do you? :P
@meatballs21 I dont think ur stupid per se, I just think you are REALLY over thinking this lol.
I agree with you 100 % and can see it happening in our life time soon considering all the current events unfortunately.
@Saiyen It's currently an ongoing whole new "Cold" war. Won't happen overnight though.
Don't worry so much about what may never happen. If the war doesn't get you, climate change or famine probably will. Or you could get sick, or shot by the cops. Or shoot by gangs.
I'm an old man and I don't want it either.
We'll get what the Trump voters served us.
Do you think it would have been any different under Hillary? They're all the same.
@AdamThomas Trump is a fool.
So is anybody who thinks things would be any different no matter which one of them got voted in.
@AdamThomas about everyone lost all confidence in Trump within a few months of his oath.
Unless there becomes an IQ test to have the right to vote, WW3 is unavoidable.
Your keyboard is made of gold 🔥
I agree with this guy. Only certain people should be allowed to vote.
the Majors war speech
lets see if i can convince you otherwise
Thanks for the sarcasm lol
They dont want people like you on the frontlines, they will use you as factory worker.
Lots of opinion, no facts. Boring, fake af news, and even a little bit sexist when you imply that mostly men will fight your "world war". Women can kill people too ya know.
im an old man and neither do i
@wankiam Old, but not obsolete.
There's too many people on this planet.. We need to be exterminated
If only humans never came into existence, if only. Then we would have never have to suffer and then die.
Don't go then. Tell the Federal Government to go fuck themselves.
Bomb ISIS and all terrorism ridden areas.
Those who downvoted belong to ISIS I guess.
For sure they do xD It's a wonder they have internet access at all.
I agreed, nice take
Cool your tits. It ain't gonna happen.
i want peace
Don't most of us do? But it's completely beyond our control if war ever does happen.
