This must have been hard for you, I'm sorry. I do love red hair though, as do many others, so it's probably not so much of an issue anymore now that you're an adult. I wish I was a redhead haha

It's no problem! Kids don't grasp empathy so well, so that certainly makes a difference. And from a biological standpoint, redheads are instantly more attractive out of human instincts to find someone with rare qualities to breed with so that those features may be of use to their offspring.

I think gingers are cute especially that little girl (in the picture.. on the table)

But yes I do agree that they get picked on and bullied which is unfair because you can't pick what color hair you have before you are born!

Jim Courier was also a famous redhead who you didn't mention.

It's funny what you say about pain though because I used to have a red headed friend who was the pussiest little bitch ever. He was the sort of kid who when looked at in the wrong way, would cry and go home.
I remember slightly nudging him by accident during a soccer game and his arm hit the goal post and he thought it was broken and cried really loudly and was rolling around on the ground (and wasn't faking it to get a penalty or something, it was just us playing, no referee or anything).
His arm was fine. Not even a bruise.

red hair can be beautiful if done right, sadly sometimes that's not possible.
one of my friends is a ginger and he used to always have an afro, which looked good on him.

    Kick a ginger?
Never got the animosity towards the redheaded people but it honestly isn't much of a thing here in Denmark seems from American TV it is there though
It is just a part of the colour spectrum within the human genome no big deal

Kick you in the shins for having red hair? Is that like a thing? I mean not just your personal experience but something kids generally do to redheaded kids?

Nice, thanks for the read, I believe that most of the stereotypes about red heads are probably correct some of the time, and generally I don't type cast people based on appearance, but I'm sure you are a pretty young woman.

Some Indian guy who kept groping me, my friend, and all the other girls in the club we were at. I gave him three chances and a very fair warning before I decked him. Then I yelled at him for making my hand bleed... the bouncers tried to kick him out, but he wouldn't leave, so they had to call the cops. It was a bad situation and he was just unlucky enough to meet a redhead who may have had too much to drink lol

Eh, it's a fun night to remember

Thank you. The whole time growing up, there was only one instance where someone stood up for me when I was getting bullied. He was a popular kid, and looking back, I think he may have had a crush on me but was too scared to ask me out because he knew I would've said no. Even though it only happened one time, I will always respect him for the one time he told other kids to leave me alone

I even got a bright pink pair just to clash with my hair, but they're so comfortable I've learned to love them more than the others. And that's unfortunate yours didn't work out for you. I got a set of glasses in high school that worked quite well but, after a few years, I needed new ones & went to a guy a few blocks from here who gave me a pair that were so strong, if I looked at the sidewalk, I felt like I was 10' tall!!! I'm already 6'9"! I couldn't trust what I was seeing!! He kept insisting I just keep wearing them & my eyes will adjust to them. I just couldn't & never did!! A waste of $300.00!! So, I went without for about 20 years. Then some psychologist I was seeing talked me into getting new ones, partly in the hopes that I could get a drivers license. I went to another guy that was new in town (or so I thought) and was even closer. Again, he gave me glasses that were too strong, but he refused to adjust them! He just said I should just wear them and my eyes would adjust to them! (Red flag!!) So, this time, I did, but only when I needed them for reading. After a few months, I noticed my eyes were considerably worse! Turns out, he was the SAME guy as before!!!

Oh that's terrible. It sounds like you have a high astigmatism. That's difficult to adjust to, especially since you went so long without glasses because you had issues. Your doctor should've cut your prescription down if it was too strong. I remember feeling like the traffic lights were falling down when I first developed astigmatism. I need more in my right eye, but my doctor isn't prescribing the full dose because he wants to help ease me into it

And that sounds like bad practice. In the USA it's customary to remake your glasses at no charge if the doctor's prescription is wrong

I'm not sure, I just know that with one eye, I guess you could say I'm legally blind. I took an eye exam a few months ago and I could only read the top line, E, and THAT was blurry! with the other, I got down to at least the 5th or 6th line. In the next room, about 15 feet away, I have a mic set up for voice recording in front of my drums and, with my bad eye, I can barely see the boom on the stand, and the mic is kinda blurry and I can KINDA tell there's a front door across the street 60' away. With my other eye, I can even see the cord wrapped around the boom rather clearly and the wreath in the window across the street. With both eyes open, I can see just as clearly as with just my good eye.
Yeah, he SHOULD'VE adjusted the lenses!! Had I known he was the same guy the 2nd time, I would've NEVER gone to him!!! I'm IN the USA! Been here all my life!
As for the 3rd glasses, I stopped wearing them when I couldn't even read the bus name across the street anymore without them!!

As for the girl in the picture, she reminds me of a redhead actress I've seen but I'm drawing a complete blank as far as who she is or what movie (s) she's been in. I can even see her in about 3 seconds of the movie in my head! I'll let ya know when it comes to me. Something from the `80's or early `90's. She seemed like a really fun, sweet girl, too. You have 20/200 vision and don't wear glasses? That's horrible! You're missing so much out of life. I hope you'll eventually find something that works for you. Most optometrists will let you wear a pair around the store with trial lenses to let you see how things are working

Have you ever tried contacts? That's usually the best thing for people with your kind of script

Oh! Is THAT what I have? I don't think anyone ever told me but, quite often, I catch things others with great vision don't see! So, they can't be THAT bad!! I can see that you're a beauty, can't I? And, yeah, I've been going without glasses for most of my adult life! Only that one spate of time 14 years ago did I use them again on a part time basis.
I don't think I could deal with contacts! I'm quite often rubbing my eyes or trying to get what feels like bits of dust out of them. Besides, they don't make flip-up contacts so I can switch from regular to tinted, do they?
Well, this actress I'm thinking of looks almost EXACTLY like this girl and even has the exact same curly hair! The only thing I DON'T like about a girl with curly hair like that is; I like to run my fingers through her hair, especially when I'm being intimate with her, and that kind of hair won't let me do that! :-( I like the way it looks, but not that I can't "finger" it.

Sometimes my eyes will water and, if I'm looking down at the time, one of the drops will cover the pupil of my bad eye and, all of a sudden, I have perfect (if not better) vision in that eye!

Funny because I was just talking with one of our contact lens reps today and she told me they're just now bringing transitions tinting lenses on the market. Before they just had only tinted or only clear, but these will tint when you go outside. Kinda interesting, but they will be more expensive

Haha I know what you mean. My curls turn into snarls all the time and like ti grab things out of people's hands. My hair once stole some plastic rings off a girl's hand at a concert, and I didn't find it in my hair until after I shampooed my hair and was trying to take conditioner into it. I always get my hair snagged on chain link fenses and food when I eat--curly hair is a mess!

      No flip-ups, eh?
Well, my hair is nearly completely straight and, although it doesn't steal things, it DOES cheese me off when I'm combing after a shower or swim!! First, I comb it straight out and get what few "knots" there are out of it, then I part it in the middle and suddenly it's LOADED with knots!!! And this AFTER conditioner!!! Yeah, I know, "Why don't you cut it?" I like the way it feels on my naked back, chest, arms or legs! Especially when I'm sitting in front of a fan! I DID shave it all off back in `89 but haven't cut it since. However, it STILL won't get any longer than just past my waist line. It got to that point about 3 or 4 years after I shaved it!
I SURE wish I could think of the movie I saw that girl in!! I'll bet I even have it on DVD or VHS!! Hmmm, I'm wondering if it MIGHT be Tom Hanks' fiancé in the "Bachelor Party" movie? No, it's not Tawny Kitaen, but it's very close!!

      Let's put it this way:

Roughly 20% of men prefer redheads, but less than 4% of women have red hair. So despite the majority of 80% of men being impartial to or disgusted by redheads, we still have a surplus of men after us

Or there are 5 men who prefer redheads for every ginger woman, not counting men with no preference who would still date a ginger. So most men can't prefer redheads because there simply aren't enough of us to go around

Basically we don't need "most men" to like us because we're already fending then off left and right

Unfortunately a lot of gingers dye their beautiful red hair to avoid judgement, bullying, and standing out. Yes there are many of us who long to fit in

With the introduction of Ygritte into the pop culture milieu, we all know that redheads are "kissed by fire" which results in them being very lucky and very attractive.

    Especially Ed Sheeran.

You left out the obvious question on everyone's mind. Does the carpet match the drapes?

Haha I actually remembered that after I had posted this. My answer when guys ask me that is:

"As a matter of fact it does, but that doesn't matter because you're never going to see it!"

Yeah... not a whole lot, but enough that I've had to come up with a line to respond to it

Yeah. Are you like a cute redhead or one of those lard ass geeks that is only interesting to guys as a curiosity?

Haha people generally tell me I'm adorable or beautiful, but they call me cute a decent amount too... not sure what a lard ass geek is TBH

Like I said, the first girl I posted could be my long-lost twin. So it's open to your interpretation whether you think we're cute or not

But do you shave it down there or just let it grow wild?

Moral of the story: Kids are dicks, and they'll find any reason to be dicks.

    Do love redheads.

I was born ginger but the hair on my head darkened down as I got older and is now more of a light brown colour (still have some ginger body hair though)

I read Anne of Green Gables as a child and always wished for my hair to darken like her. Luckily it did, but to an even better red than before, just enough to lose the carrot edge
