So let's not talk about this global warming thing that has recently been in the media a lot yet. you're not a scientist so i don't expect you to be able to jugde if it's "fake news" or the real deal. however i want to remember you of a thing that you might not have been around to witness. i myself was too young at the time to really care.

however i only recently learned how god damn close we already were to litterally ending all live on planet earth. i am not exaggerating.

you may have heard of the ozone layer incident of the 1980s. Back in the 80s Chlorofluorocarbon was a very popular gas used for aerosols and cooling applications. in 1974, scientists alarmed the general public, that the common industry use of Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) was dissolving the ozone layer. the ozone layer prevents ultraviolet radiation from passing through to the earth surface. if people would have called that event fake news, we would not be sitting here today. had we noticed that a few years later or just not reacted like we're doing now with global warming, the suns radiation would have given Most of the living beings on earth cancer, would have made plant life infertile and would have pretty much made all life on earth go extinct because UV-Radiation damages DNA of animals and plants alike..

It was thanks to a fast geopolitical reaction combined with the fact that CFC can "relatively" easily be replaced. in 1987 they finally decided immediate measures to replace CFC worldwide and it was only in 2017, that scientists could finally report that the hole in the ozone layer that was already been caused is now finally not growing anymore and even seems to slowly heal.

imagine trump was the president back then and would have called it fake news. we'd litterally be dead now. humans can and did already change the climate significantly so maybe you have an easier time understanding that we're in much the same situation again. yet this time the CO² issue is a way more complex issue to solve and can not be helped by just a simple replacement of industry chemicals.

i just wrote this take for fun. i'm not trying to convince you that humans have blown so much CO² into the atmosphere and have taken down so much forrest that could compensate, that the climate will probably warm up around 5 degrees globally. this will have devastating effects and we are already way past the point of no return. this will happen to us now, no matter what we do and no matter if we believe it's fake news or not. i mean there are some solutions that theoretically exist but that would be a globally joint operation that will cost so much resources that i don't see that happening, specially considering there are no such efforts even today when we already know we're acting too late... so enjoy your "fake news" tornado/flood/wildfire/drough. it will be a horrible future for lots of us. i'm quite sure the global ecosystems will recover but not without taking considerable damage and without causing us humans considerable harm first. i have no doubt humanity will make it but i sure hope we'll learn from it.

our planets ecosystem is not invincible. it has immense regenerative powers but we're really testing the limits of that power...it won't be long till this ends us all if we continue being so dumb.

I have many questions but here is one for now. They say we are producing tons and tons of CO2. when I was at school CO2 was heavier than air so it sank to the floor, and the plants could change it into OXYGEN. Question ,, why are we not dieing from breathing in CO2.. ?

Air is a mixture of loads of different gases. There is still plenty oxygen for us to live but the concentration is high enough to cause a greenhouse effect. We are deforesting the planet taking it's capabilities of doing what you just said while also pumping the air full of additional co2. This is the exact reason why to me it's dumb that the media and politics focus on reducing co2 emissions instead of funding reforesting projects, which would be much cheaper.

True. but when you burn wood it gives of CO or carbon monoxide. It shows this by how coughing you do problem with breathing namely because irs a poison , This one fact annoys me when they talk about jet engines, they give off CO, not CO2. The whole thing is a joke …..

ok i will break this down to you. you are completely right that forest fires are a huge problem that will even increase with global warming. you see CO will rise up into the atmosphere and there it will react with ozone (O³) to CO² and O²... O² is good for us but at the cost of the ozone layers, it's a killer.

and the way it kills is 2 fold:
1: the ozone layer shields the earth from solar radiation or in otherwords if you remove ozone, more heat gets through so the planet is blasted with more radiation of the sun.

2: Air is mostly made up of simple gases like N² and O² the more you raise the concentration of gases like co2, methane and other complex molecules, the more the atmosphere traps heat that is blasted on the planet and disables the earth "heat reflection".

so tl;dr you have heat entering AND a rise of insulation both working to make the earth more warm.

True, But these systems have been going for millions years. The ozone is quite stable , doing away with nasties like CFCs it brought it back to a level that hole was nearly gone. The main problem now is the HFCs that replaced the CFCs. But naturally l forming compounds are used by the atmosphere to keep it in balance. CO2 is the heavier of the compounds so will sink to the earth, but when you consider the atmosphere can only hold 0.04 , any thing more it released going down the ground and being used by plants so they can grow giving off 02.
What is needed is a drastic improvement on the plant life to facilitate this process.
But and its a big but is population. The demands of each person that is the problem.
When people talk about getting things back to pre industrial levels , the first report of population reaching 1 billion was in 1804. 215 years later we are getting to 8 billion. HOW IS THAT GOING TO BE SORTED?

The ozone layer is far from stable dude it is barely on the way of recovery right now... We almost ruined it before as I went over In the take. it won't sort itself out.

Population is a problem not only that tho. Consider that the western world went through industrialization causing the issues we do have now. The most 2 and 3 world countries who have the majority of global population still has to go through industrialization. How are they supposed to do that? How are we morally allowed to forbid them causing all the pollution we caused in out process?

No, I'm fluent in Spanish and proficient in Mandarin. I learned a little Latin because of its close relation to Spanish, and in Law and the Social sciences it is so frequently used. Try reading Marx without at least a rudimentary understanding of Latin, German, French, etc. I get your point nonetheless, but idioms feel so much better when spoken in the dead languages...
