An uncharacteristically short answer from me. I much prefer that adults raise children than be raised by them.

Time has stood that on its head. The young lady makes a splendid "woke" calendar pin-up. However, as she has not even finished high school and is skipping school to spread her message, I doubt that she has much to offer as a substantive matter.

We live in the age of the symbology of symbols. When what a thing is assumed to represent matters more than what it actually is. The young lady is simply part of that trend - and Time is selling it.

The real issue being why a major media outlet - and the public more broadly - is falling all over themselves over a symbol, the relevance of whose symbolism is not immediately apparent.

If this is a serious issue, then address it seriously. With prudent language and sound science.

If this is all about feelings and "think of the children" and all the rest, then the young lady is adequately suitable. My argument is not with Ms. Thunberg. It is with so-called adults who substitute empty symbolism and feelings for serious analysis.
