What's wrong with liking feminine guys? Am I the only one?

I feel like people think that girls who like these type of guys are lesbians, or just "haven't gotten to meet a real man" and guys that are like this try to change because of what other people like. I see all this alpha male stuff as though guys think all girls are into that. I'm not attracted to "Female trapped in male body" type of guys or the really insecure ones but the guys that have a cutesy appearance like a baby face. I've always been attracted to cute guys I don't know why. I can't go into a lot of detail into this and I guess feminine isn't the right word but if you watch anime then the term "shota" Is similar (not exactly) to this.

Hello SakuraChii. The answer to your question is that there is nothing wrong with liking anything attribute or trait of a person. It may not be the "norm" within a society, or the most common preference, but that is what it is, a preference. You simply value things different, as you described it would seem you find something being cute being of more interest to you than something "manly". There is absolutely nothing wrong with what you may determine to be attractive or your wants. After all, it that is your type, whatever you consider your type, no one should really have a say in it.

Also, on a side note, I assume because of your "shota" comment, I picture Honey-senpai when thinking of an example.

I have a friend that is the same way but towards young looking girls, petite figures and the like. He, and I, value cuteness way more than "beauty", per se. I would say, that at least for myself, that I don't find the conventional "beautiful" woman to be all that attractive, but rather those that display a rather cute personality, and modest figure.

I remember a couple of studies that suggested that facial preference is partly based on your own facial attributes. The more masculine and feminine a face is the more it finds the opposite attractive. For example a girl with a very feminine face likely finds a guy with a very masculine face most attractive, the inverse also being true. Whereas guys and girls that lean more towards androgynous features, find androgynous features of the opposite sex most attractive.

@dipta Well the theory behind it is that we're biologically programmed to want to balance out femininity and masculinity to have kids that are as androgynous as possible as what makes them masculine and feminine is supposed to be puberty.

Technically there's nothing wrong with being a feminine man. It's just that it challenges the stereotypical gender roles, that men are "supposed" to be masculine, whereas women are "supposed" to be feminine. And whenever something challenges normalized societal structures, it's usually met with anger/hatred/confusion/disagreement etc. Which is why a lot of people think it's bad when a guy is feminine, or when a girl is masculine. It's stupid, because it prevents people from being who they want to be, without being shamed for it.

I'm having a mix of confusion and misunderstanding. Do you mean those who act a little "soft" and less masculine or the "twinks"? Twinks being those who people would usually intiate 13 year olds would crush on. If it's the first, I wonder the same too.

There's nothing "wrong" with it, and it's fairly common at your age. But you will in all likelihood grow out of it in the next few years as you became a woman rather than a girl.
