Is a black woman's natural hair attractive?

Anyways, my mom says that guys don't like curly hair or coily hair like a black woman's. Both my parents say this is ugly, or bad hair. It's what's everyone would consider ugly. Including me and my sisters hair. Because without a weave, this is how my actual hair looks. They always pressure me to straighten my hair or wear a wig all the time and it makes me so angry, because I feel like I can't even wear my hair around them without them having to insult it. Even my older sister says that guys don't like hair like this and I was seeing if it was true. Can I still get a boyfriend even if my hair is curly or coily or is this ugly?

Ugh I've been in your shoes I don't know how many times with some of my family members about my hair smh, but I learned to ignore it because I'm not going out the way to please them for what they prefer. It's my hair and I was gonna do it and wear it my way whether they criticized it or not. Regardless of what they say, natural hair is beautiful in every way. And honey your hair is NOT ugly! It's gorgeous boo. If anything take pride in yours coils and curls and flaunt it the fuck off with confidence! Dont let anyone, not even your family, talk you down about your hair and please don't try to bend over backwards to please them. If you're not happy with the weaves or none of that, don't do it boo

Absolutely not. Despite my hair being straightened in my profile pic, I always wear it curly. It took me a while to embrace my hair, but I honestly love it and it's because of the natural hair movement partially.

Now I will say that my hair is more curly, so I don't face that same ignorant view towards my hair, but I've seen it and it's disgusting. And if a guy can't accept you for everything are then he doesn't deserve to be in your life because someone worth while will appreciate it. I've never had a guy have an issue with my hair and if he did, we wouldn't be in one another's lives. I hope you can get to a place where you embrace your hair and be confident with it 😊

Yea it's pretty, it's also all very different :) some tight curls, looser, jet black, brown, reddish, it's all different.

I love it! I think it's gorgeous. That's sad your family is not teaching you to embrace your natural beauty and heritage acting like there is something wrong with it:( I admire black women who have their hair like this. I think the wigs and straightening is a shame really. I think it's wrong not to be proud of who you are.

Of course it's attractive.. But people are so used to seeing straight hair, and it is seen as one of the requirements of the European standards of beauty.. It is not what society considers feminine.. And because of many "Black" people gettin affected by the Euro standards of beauty, they also associate anythiny that loosens coily hair to be "good" hair. Even though in terms of hair texture, there is no such thing.. All hair types can have good and bad hair.. But, a "Black" women's natural hair is beautiful. Lol..

Natural black hair is very unique in texture, so I understand how some men may not be into it and prefer straight hair. Very much a niche type of trait natural black hair is.

I think you should have your hair however you like it. Natural is beautiful. I like all kinds of braids and colors and styles. I like women who look in the mirror and love who they see. That's the most attractive thing ever.
