In your opinion, is Georgia (country) in Eastern Europe or Western Asia?

I have my opinion about it, geographically small portion of it falls in Europe, culturally, religiously and politically It's closer to Eastern Europe.
Some Georgians think that they do not fall neither in Europe nor In Asia, that we are Caucasians and unique from the rest of our neighbours. I mysef think we are more Europeans than Asians, I am also head of Georgian office of one of the biggest youth European international organisations, which has offices only in European countries. So my stance is Europe.
Look at the map and explain your opinion. Georgia is right below European part of Russia.

I'm a nerd (& Asian, so I'm biased) and I distinctly remember the encyclopedias I've read including Georgia in their map and/or listing of nations in Asia.

But, I will admit that it's ambiguous. They did say that Russia's Ural Mountains are the de-facto border splitting Eurasia into Europe to the West and Asia to the East, but Georgia is obviously West of the Urals. Yet, it is part of Asia. Weird.

I personally don't understand on what basis any part of Turkey is considered even remotely European.

Well based on the Georgians I've seen here in Turkey, Georgia is definitely more European than Armenia, Turkey or Azerbaijan.
I'd consider Georgia as European, but the rest of the countries in Caucasus as West Asian.

I am also quite surprised that Georgia is light blue and Armenia is dark blue on the second map. It should've been the other way around.
Just based on looks, we have both Armenians and Georgians here in Turkey, mostly in black sea region, Armenians mostly look like a little bit lighter version of middle Easterners, while I could mistake Georgians for Central Europeans easily.

Interestingly, Armenians are genetically most closely related to west Europeans. (France, Spain)
While Georgians are more closely related to central European Slavs. (Poland, Slovakia, Ukraine as well as Chechnya)
Which probably explains why Armenians look darker.
Armenians are also extremely homogeneous religiously, I think they are actually one of the most Christian countries in the world after Vatican.

Technically speaking, Turkey, Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan are all members of the Council of Europe.
So if anything, all of them are still countries upholding (or at least trying to) European conventions, laws, democracy and culture.

Armenians are indo-European, Georgians are Kartvelian, both of these are white races but Turks and Azerbaijanis are Altaic, which is an Asian race.
Armenia was the first state which adopted Christianity. Armenia is more European than Turkey or Azerbaijan but Georgia seemed more European than Armenia to me.

Turks and Azerbaijanis have Middle Asian blood but it is not more than 30 percent. The most of the rest is Anatolian blood, which is genetically closer to Greeks, Mesopotamians and Northwest Asians.

Since the Greater Caucasus Mountains are within Georgia on its northern border and Lesser on the southern border, it's unique and both in a sense. I voted accordingly, but mentally, I'd say Europe and that Asia is south of the Caucasus Mountains.

There are Southern borders and Eastern borders, Southern borders start at Istanbul, Eastern ones start in Caucasus. Like it is shown in the second map, half of Georgia is put in Europe, another half in Asia.
