This post really opened my eyes.
Do you think women get a "Free Pass "when it comes to Sexual Harassment/Assault?
Not so much a free pass, because in most cases if called on it, caught and there is even evidence or witnesses, then there are consequences.
But often times in the news, even in this past year's news of female teachers and such being found guilty of taking advantage of students, the women usually get off with far lesser punishments and shorter jail time than men.
You do the crime, you should do the equal time. None of this "oh she clearly shown remorse and a willingness to better herself. It could have been worse" Crap.
I mean every time you see a photo of a guy accused of a crime they always look like a guilty predator... I mean they usually are anyways, but most of the women accused of the same crimes pass off as usually attractive and the student should be so lucky.
But despite that, we all know she has to be punished just to shut everyone up, soooo give her 3 months and probation for a year, oh and subtract any time served, we don't want to look like monsters.
That guy over there? Nah, he's probably fiddling with himself under the table right now. Give him 8 years and label him a High Risk Offender. Put one of those tracking things on his ankle too while you're at it. Did those new ones arrive with the adaptive proximity Tasers? Yeah? Ok get one of those.
Well, I'm a shut in now, but in school, I was groped a few times and spank a couple of times too. I wasn't even popular or attractive or anything.
I guess if it happened to a woman that would be a big deal. I didn't care very much. It's embarrassing a couple of times because I'm in introvert and it happened in front of people and were screwing with me.
The last comment has a point. Lots of teachers getting caught with students lately. Almost always female. While they do get fired and some put in prison, there is that double standard. It's mainly because guys usually don't feel physically threatened by girls.
The double standards when it comes to these things wouldn't be so bad if it didn't seem like merely flirting with a girl now constitutes as something inherently bad and potentially creepy.
I don't know if you watch Dr Phil (ppl on gag seem to hate him... lol) but he did two episodes with female teachers caught with students. It was hilarious hearing them try to justify themselves and explain why they shouldn't have been held accountable. I think that women are so accustomed to being considered the "weaker sex" that they feel empowered by exerting the same type of dominance a man would be demonized for. So they have sex with these teenagers and don't see that the imbalance of power means rape. It's crazy.
@mermaidrocketship AS another user pointed out. There are many female teachers getting caught having sex with students and there is no outrage. It is really crazy
In middle school gym class (about 150 girls), there were a lot of girls who would grope the others (or openly watch them undress). The locker room, as you can imagine, was extremely crowded, which made it easy for that kind of thing to happen. I know the gym teachers had to know about it. They had a glass window into the locker room (they were female too), but they never said anything about it. They were both lesbians as well. I don't know if they were okay with what was going on or if they thought it was some sort of consensual experimenting type of thing. I was bigger than most of the other girls, and my friends would get dressed next to me so that none of the other girls would touch them. I also remember that some of us would get dressed in the middle of the locker room to block the smaller girls who were getting felt up during changing. Looking back at it as an adult, it makes me feel sick to my stomach that something that serious was happening and no one did a single thing to stop it except a few 12 year old girls.
wow :(
Is there anything women don't get a 'free pass' on, nowadays, really?
We get lower, baby punishments for ~everything. Things like sexual assault coming from women are seen as a joke or something that the victim should appreciate. Seriously, have you ever seen one of those numerous 'schoolteacher caught with schoolboy' stories and ever a, seen the word rape used and b, not had to scroll through a hundred 'I don't see the issue', 'boys always want sex' and 'where was this teacher when I was at school?' comments? Women are pretty much free to do whatever we like. It's sickening.
Have you seen a poll on here about teachers who were involved with the male students? Well most of the men wish they had that kind of teacher when they were going to school. So what I'm showing you that its like that because men are ashamed to report it because ( some men would love to get sexually harassment from a hot women I don't think so but some men do) So imagine it's been reported and his coworkers would be like " dude why did you had to report that will you could have shamed her" Then his friends would laugh and call him a wimp but that's how it is.

Oh absolutely. A recent example has to do with Tweeden's claim that Franken assaulted her, etc.
First of all, she did in fact give Franken permission to rehearse the kiss, which was performed live and it was repeated in the same manner as she claims the rehearsal was.
But then watch the videos of her on stage and you'll see HER groping men and kissing them without consent. Yet no one says anything about her doing it yet call for Franken to step down from his seat because of a skit he had actually been performing for years.
I'd like to point out that Tweeden was not the only female to perform that exact, same act in the exact same manner and was kissed in the exact, same way. There's video of Karri Turner playing the part Tweeden played and it was in 2003 - 3 years earlier, and the script was exactly the same.
So yes, absolutely women get a free pass in most every case. If not by those judging the allegation then by the men who are afraid to file a complaint about the actions of the female because they know what kind of reaction there will be.
Yes women tend to get way with this because you know " women can do no wrong" In the last week I saw 3 female teachers got caught having sex with their students and the Media is all silent on the issue because they only love painting men as the bad guys.
As for sexual harassment in the workplace. My girlfriend faced a similar problem at her last job. There was a female supervisor who would make advances towards her , even going as far as touching her butt and saying she was just "fixing her skirt". My girlfriend reported the incident and HR said she must have misinterpreted the situation. So yes women do get a "free pass" when it comes to this issue.
She still works there?
No she left the job. The supervisor started treating her badly after filed the complaint.
Roughly 40 percent of the victims of severe physical violence were men. The CDC repeated the survey in 2011, the results of which were published in 2014, and found almost identical numbers — with the percentage of male severe physical violence victims slightly rising. Oct 26, 2015
While the overwhelming majority of sexual harassment victims are women, according to the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, an increasing number of men are filing complaints too. Of the more than 6,800 sexual harassment claims filed with the agency in 2015, more than 17 percent of them were filed by men.
In todays society it wouldn't surprice me if they do. Men sexually harrasing is horribly overexadurated. Women should of course be equal in this aspect so if they are actually harrased the report snould be taken seriously no matter who did it to them. Same if men where to be harrased as while the majority may not have that problem good looking men are just as likely to get assulted as a good looking girl.
I wouldn't say male sexual harassment is over exaggerated but female sexual harassment is very under exaggerated.
Depends on what you call "flirting". Catcalling and using very suggestive comments is still sexual harassment.
Yes, it's all sexual harassment. Physical and mental harassment are just as harmful. Is physical abuse worse than verbal abuse? I don't think so.
Then i strongly disagree with you on that subject. I personally think while a comment can be ignored the instigator took the privaledge of touching a piece of you to be worse since it also gives him something he was not meant to have (The sensation and feeling of your breasts). On top of that he violated her personal space. So no saying to a girl a part of her looks nice does not fall in this category for me.
The only women who don't get a free pass are teachers who get caught with their students.
That some women want and accept sexual advances from men is why men make advances towards women.
This is much like the person who blames the landlord for charging $3,000 a month rent for a 1-BR apartment. The enemy isn't the landlord, it is all those other people willing to pay $3,000 a month.
The enemy here is the women who engage in sex with men.
Since men are more believed to act like an "animal" around girls they are also believed be able to Sexsually haras a women. Therefor we have a freepass, since we will be believed at the beginning. If a guy says the same about a woman, they won't act on it. Another argument is, that the woman will be believed at the second, since she does not have a resson to lie. But the man has a good reason, since he would most likely lie to defend himself. Whit this said, I do believ, that most of the women are speaking the truth, and the harassment has to stop!
Well I got sexually harassed both by men and older women. older women LOVE younger guys and can really prove they don't respect boundaries. Though only times young girls did that to me was at raves she they already fucked up. One girl just pulled my friends shirt up and squeezed his nipples
Most definitely. Will special definitely in regards to men that are being harassed. Men are told to "man up" or "deal with it" if it's mentioned. I've been in that position with some of the vocations that I've held in my youth. Lucky for me most of it stopped by the time I was married. Most of it.
Its a tricky question, but the media does often paint the issue of sexual assault and similar crimes as having predominantly male offenders. Most posts on domestic violence and similar articles rarely seem to post tales of males being sexually assualted. Most statistics focus on these crimes against women. In reality I believe it goes both ways.
Women definitely do. Hell, Mariah Carrey's body guard recently came out about her sexually harassing him more than once in the past but it's Kevin Spacey, Harvey Weinstein, and all the other guys we hear about right now.
I've definitely been seeing a lot more of female teachers getting arrested for molesting their male and female students. I think women are overlooked, but I have had some experiences with some very aggressive lesbians.
Absolutely. It requires much more direct proof to substantiate your claim as a guy. I should know, I've been ass grabbed by the owner's heroin addict daughter when I worked in a warehouse during high school.
I think so yes, the whole stigma "men can't be reped/sexually harassed" is still pretty strong in our society, and this is very much liked to that. It's ridiculous, and so hurtful.
Ok, so, for one thing, we need to dispel something right now. Her short skirt does not force anyone to touch, rape or harass her. The skirt length is not the issue. But we have that out of the way.
Yes, I do think some women have gotten a free pass on pretty bad behavior. I think we as a society are beginning to get some awareness of this problem too, and I won't defend anyone who assaults or harasses another. We're all just beginning to wake up to this issue.
I believe no one should get a free pass however it should have to be proven without shadow of a doubt on both sides and if someone makes false accusations then they should be punished for ruining someone's name.
I don't think women should get a free pass. If a man feels uncomfortable he should have every right to report it and be taken seriously.
I was training g a woman who constantly pinched my ass made comments about hooking up with her.
I was 20 yeah younger. This has happened to me several times in my career.
A free pass? I dunno about that. But they'll likely get off with a slap on the wrist.
There needs to be proof, because this is leaning towards more females.
In most cases women are sexually harassed but yes in some case they get a free pass.
