Do you feel feminism creates misogyny and misandry?

So recently I seen a post that said "Women don't owe men shit" to which someone replied it was "No one owes anyone shit". From there an argument broke out over it. Something I have noticed is feminist like to point blame on men and boys and that there is something wrong with masculinity and men are to blame for a lot of the worlds problems. Examples of this could be: "Teach boys not to rape", "Toxic masculinity", "Smash the patriarchy", etc.

I see this as a form of misandry since there is a slight bit of hate toward men in these statements. As if there is something wrong with all men. And if any of these statements were reversed to women this sexism wouldn't be tolerated. So I do believe that feminism creates misandry.

On the flip side I think men dealing with this see it as hatred towards them and in turn become more misogynist. As in if you think all men need to be taught not to rape then you must think I am a rapist, and if you are willing to call me such a bad thing I don't care for you. I believe this thinking is causing men not to care for thing such as sexual assault against women. And it is just getting worse since it seems most feminist don't care about men's issues. Add thing such as all these celebrity sexual assault allegation in which some celebrities are being fired over allegation (real or not) with out being proven guilty first is just adding fuel to the fire. Causing more men to become misogynist. So feminism creates misogyny.

So my question is do you feel feminism is creating misogyny and misandry? And if yes what can be done to stop this? Also please keep it to a civil discussion and don't attack anyone for their opinions.

Misogyny was around way before the feminist movement. I'm actually a women's health advocate. I understand both sides of the argument and I understand the frustratition of both sides. I think people just need to realize we receive certain advantages and disadvantages due to our gender etc. But that doesn't invalidate the struggle of others. I call myself a humanist egalitarian. In that I acknowledge the plight of all people and I believe men and women should be equal in all matters. I'm open to discussing more about this

I am well aware there was misogyny before the feminist movement and would not deny that. I do however believe the movement is in a way creating more misogyny. I also consider myself a egalitarian but at time do find myself not really caring about sexual assault cases when I hear about them recently. It's more of a "not this again" type of mentality with me as in I am getting sick of hearing about it which in turns kind of takes away from the situation. I feel like this is true for many people, of both genders. Not saying it is right but I feel it is happening. I just feel like there are a lot of instances from both sides where things could be handled better in order to get a point or idea across without alienating the other side.

I agree both sides need to do a better job. But frankly any movement always has a backlash. And you should never get accustomed to sexual assaults, it just tells you how wide spread the problem is. I mean most women have been sexual assaulted, which is sad.

They do need to do a better job. I like to think I try. I wouldn't even say I've come accustom to sexual assault since I don't wish anyone to ever have to deal with that. I think it's more so I don't like how it is dealt with most of time. And I have come accustom to that and that is where I lose concern with the issue.

Those dumb cunts just feel like life is to hard and they blame it on men who have it harder naturally and because of the modern age, so we can't really fight back but we can just ignore them. (It's kinda like people beeing afraid of death and creating religions.)

First off I asked nicely to keep this a civil discussion so calling people "dumb cunts" is uncalled for. So please refrain from such hostility. How do you feel men naturally have it harder than women? I personally believe both sides have it hard in different ways and people just get caught up in their own shit they fail to see how others struggle as well. This and it's hard to know what someone has and is going through without actually having to deal with it themselves. It's a grass is always greener on the other side kind of thing.

I do agree with you on the not being able to fight back so just ignoring it idea though. But that is necessarily good for either side. If men ignore women's issues then those issues can't be fixed. But if men also ignore these issues it opens up the possibility of women eventually having more rights and power over men.

Hmmm I never really thought about it that way but I actually agree with you. I myself am only human and will say I do have my own faults when it comes to the subject so I can see that being visible in my post. But I am open to changing for the better, half of why I felt to post this question. Any ideas on how people can better go about this?

I mean if you have millions of women experiencing rape, torture, harrassment, lower pay, etc etc just because they are women and finally standing up for themselves for men to turn around and make gaslighting opinions like yours, I'd hate ya too.

I didn't mean it to sound like I was gaslightng anyones' opinion, I actually tried my best to state that those are my personal opinions. I agree with you on women experiencing rape, harrassment and torture (I don't believe in lower pay). But these are things men face too, different extents of course. Which is where I think the issues arises for me in most of this. In that it seems some people see one gender as only being able to be the victim and the other as being a perpetrator when in fact both can be either. I get how as a woman that can cause such hate. But as a male who does not partake in those horrible acts and then to still hear thing like you need to be taught not to be a rapist or that you are toxic and the problem with the world because of your gender, it is easy to form hate and resentment towards those saying that about you. And it can also make you apathetic to those that did suffer those horrible acts, man or woman.
