What do you think of Muslim women breaking tradition and posing nude or in swimwear?

Some actresses, models and activists have done it. Many have been threatened with death if they ever return to their home countries.
And Naked and Afraid recently had it's first Muslim contestant.
And one posed nude in Playboy a few years back

It's mandatory for a Muslim woman to cover her body in a way that you can't see the curves and contours (in front of men who aren't direct relatives). Even for a man it is mandatory to cover from the navel to the knees, which many guys don't follow especially when they take shirtless pics the pants are low.

Different Muslims have different levels of faith. Among my peers I have seen girls who wear bikini and even posted topless, and I have seen girls who even cover their faces. I don't judge anybody for it cause it's wrong, there are many more Islamic practices and they might be better than me in some of them.

Even if one doesn't necessarily pose nude, modeling alone is a profession of displaying oneself to the world, which you won't see many Muslim girls doing. We had one really pretty model material hotel in class and she doesn't want to be a model for the same reason.

Hmm, as a Muslim, I think posing with a swimwear ain't a big deal, but posing nude is immoral. They shouldn't become immoral while trying to be like Westerners.

You shouldn't feel sorry because my country gave women right to vote before half of Europe and I have never felt intimidated or faced discrimination because I'm a woman.
You should feel sorry for Europe becase women weren't considered human there 200 years ago + in my culture women always fought alongside men before my people were converted to Islam.

Islam needs a wakeup call. It's a religion with 600s morals inis the 2000s. They need to rebrand, reform, and drop the archaic, aggressive shit they have. But yeah, for the most part I agree with you. Most are doing it for cash, but the first girl, Golshifteh Farahani, is doing it as a way to protest Iran forcing women to cover up.

I think there are other ways Muslim women can protest the dress code, that don't involve getting naked.

I think it's great that they are going for freedom of expression and equality. If they choose to stop following a religion or tradition, they should have the right to do so. As long as they are not breaking laws that are set worldwide, I think it's fine. So, good for them.

I think posting nude is quite useless and just provocative, I don't really see in what it would help the average Muslim women in any ways.
