Black is a immune reaction to too much sunlight. Pretty sure no mermaids under water get too much sunlight. It does matter when there’s something called UN Agenda 2030 preemptively programming us to believe whites are a minority and transgenders are normal.
That still doesn't affect the storyline though. I get it if it was Snow White and they made her black because her fair skin is important to the story. Also going by your logic wouldn't Ariel have to be black to retain more heat in the ocean because it's cold?
The little mermaid should’ve been made a gay man. I mean, mermaids don’t have either a pussy or a dick, so it wouldn’t have gotten in the way of the story at all.
Hua Mulan is a legendary Chinese warrior from the Northern and Southern dynasties period (420–589) of Chinese history, originally described in the Ballad of Mulan.

Because fuck white people. Don't you understand that yet? It isn't about diversity or fairness or equality or reparations or even racism. It's about Fuck White Folks. Fuck. White. Folks.
So, in The Little Mermaid live action fiasco, is the boyfriend going to remain white so they can have a nasty interracial romance as well? Or will Disney coon him also?

People are really thinking about this too much. If this bothers you so deeply, I think you need to rethink you're priorities in life...
@EmperorOfRussia well saying that the "white culture" in the movie did not effect the movie or play anyroll in the movie, or even cary a theme in the movie. simply changing the color of a character does not matter much
@EmperorOfRussia well in mulan the Asian culture played a pivitol roll in the movie, as it was against ganghis khan. in black panther the whole movie was around black culture, which again played a pivitol roll in the movie. while in ariel, white culture had nothing to do with the movie other than in mythology it came from white culture. it played no roll in the movie. so what would changing the white character to black do? also simply because i dont have a problem with a black character playing a once white character does not mean i bow to anyone, or give a fuck about political correctness. it means im not someone who is either so insecure or angry that i cannot withstand a simple cultural change in a movie that is many years old.
The fact is: you despise White cultures and put cultures of other peoples above ours. That's why you demand non-Whites to play non-White characters, but are OK when non-Whites play White characters. White cultures mean nothing to you.
You can run around the bush, but you never will be a man to admit this.
@EmperorOfRussia oh i am very proud of my culture, i am scotish and irish, and care a lot for my people. now when it comes to movies like brave, it would be wrong to have a black person play the ain character, as that movie isall about scotish culture. but movies such as cinderella, little mermaid, and sleeping beauty have nothing to do with white culture, other than being originally played by white people. and i have no problem with white characters playing black characters as long as the character is not based off of black culture. i actually think it is redicoulus people find recasting black characters as white people offensive. you make a lot of assumptions, it makes your debating skills sub-par, i would work on that.
You are what’s wrong with the youth in America. You don’t know dick about politics and you’ll be enslaved by 2030 with a microchip inside you controlling your life.
Of course I'm making assumptions about you, that's why we are DEBATING. Don't you know how it works?
First of all, Mulan is also a fictional character, according to your NAACP-like logics, she could be played by everyone, just like you think Ariel should be.
The problem here: you have double standards and don't want to admit it.
@EmperorOfRussia again when a movie is based of a specific culture, then the characteers that originally were played by people of that culture, should continue to be played by characters of that culture, for example brave, the main character of brave should always be played by a scottish or irish character. in the ovie mulan the main character should always be played with an Asian character. now in the movie princess and the frog, i would have no problem with the main character being played with a different race character, as the movie was not based completly off of black culture. in the movie cindarella, the main character could be played with a different race character as the movie has nothing to do with white culture. i think it is rediculouse that anyone would get mad at something as trivial as a race change in a movie. and by assumptions i mean you are making assumptions about me, i am a conservative and in no way under the influence of anyone other than my own beliefs.
@Goodgirl120 she doesn’t fit the description of a fictional character? Hell they could’ve made her green with blue hair... she's NOT REAL. She could be played by anyone
There was a real person called Mulan in Ancient China who disguised herself as a man to join the Chinese army? No, that’s not a true story. It’s a fictional character.
@Goodgirl120 Mulan is a real story in Chinese history, maybe not all real, but it’s been part of our culture generation through generation.
@Pink2000 Yes, mermaid is fictional and can be played by anyone, but we are talking about Ariel. She’s white, red hair, which is already deep in our memories. I still think a white, red hair actress will be better.
Don't mind Pinkie, she HATES White people, but doesn't have the guts to admit it. So we can be used to see her passive-aggressive displays against White men and White women, but that's all what her level of "braveness" allows her to do.
@EmperorOfRussia my parents aren’t white... I don’t hate anyone and I have nothing against white people. It wouldn’t make sense for me too 😒but of course you wouldn’t know that. Goodbye.

Why is it that a guy can´t be casted as The Little Mermaid? Discrimination much?
Because Ariel's race doesn't matter in the story but Mulan's does

Becouse remember only white characters can only be replaced while minorities cant🤦🏽♀️

Why is everyone so sensitive in the comments section.
Best opinion so far😂👍❤️
Because mermaids doesn't have a race while Mulan is obviously a chinese
Why not a transgender? Because that's not a natural thing.
Mermaids aren’t natural either.
But aren't you asking why mulan is not a transgender? Also mulan is a human chinese. Are you trying to say chinese are fictional creatures?
OK they could make Ariel who's a fictional creature a rainbows skinned transgender but why would a Chinese woman be the same?
China owns Hollywood.
Irrelevant answer is not an excuse to dodge topics

Sheep
Wow, I am so deeply offended. How will I ever go on.
I think it doesn't matter... its the actor and the acting not the colour.. :)
Haha they should make Tiana white later then
White is better biologically speaking.
Cuz she's Asian. She would have been black if she was white b4.
Because they are hypocrites.
Mermaids aren't real
Simple lol
Hell you could’ve played Ariel 😂
@Pink2000
@Pink2000 ya
I like Halle
I think she’s the perfect mermaid
Her voice is amazing
She’s so mystical and exotic. She already looks like a gorgeous mystical sea creature
I think she’s real pretty
Mulan isn’t either.
Sure she is
She’s a human being
Lol
Not a sea creature
What color is a unicorn? 😂
Lmao 😂
@Pink2000 lol
They’re just bitter that the whites aren’t always winning
well mulan is an Asian culture movie... so
And Ariel is a white mermaid of altantian culture
but its not white culture, its simply a white character, there is not white culture surrounding it. so why not make her black.
Who said Ariel wasn't part of a White cultural expression, you fucking dumbo?
The Little Mermaid story came from Danish mythology! DANISH.
DANISH PEOPLE ARE NOT BLACK.
What's the next? Black Leprechauns?
It's funny how people like you have no respect for White cultures and put cultural expressions of other peoples' above ours.
@EmperorOfRussia well saying that the "white culture" in the movie did not effect the movie or play anyroll in the movie, or even cary a theme in the movie. simply changing the color of a character does not matter much
Well, if it doesn't matter, then Mulan could be Black, and what about a White Black panther?
You people bow down to Political Correctness...

Mulan was a movie for cross dressers.
admit you have lost this debate bud, now you are bringing up irrelevant things.
You are what’s wrong with the youth in America. You don’t know dick about politics and you’ll be enslaved by 2030 with a microchip inside you controlling your life.

Cause Milan isn’t a fucking mermaid
Mulan*
The Mermaid has pale skin, red hair and blue eyes. Halle Bailey doesn’t fit the description.
@Goodgirl120 she doesn’t fit the description of a fictional character? Hell they could’ve made her green with blue hair... she's NOT REAL. She could be played by anyone
Mulan is a fictional character too but an Asian woman is playing her because Mulan is Asian.
@Goodgirl120 mulan is not a fictional character. She’s based off a real person.
There was a real person called Mulan in Ancient China who disguised herself as a man to join the Chinese army? No, that’s not a true story. It’s a fictional character.
@Goodgirl120 oh lord. Okay know it all. 😒. Y’all so annoying
@Goodgirl120 Mulan is a real story in Chinese history, maybe not all real, but it’s been part of our culture generation through generation.

@Jooying why would it be “better”
@Jooying Ariel is also part of Danish culture. They even have a statue of Ariel in Denmark.
@Goodgirl120 who cares ? It’s a mermaid !! Saying it would be better if she was “white” is just wrong
No it isn’t. Because Ariel is actually white. Calling her black is wrong because she isn’t.
@Goodgirl120 but she’s my actually anything cause she isn’t real
Why isn’t the mermaid a black tranny?
@MoneyBeets
Don't mind Pinkie, she HATES White people, but doesn't have the guts to admit it. So we can be used to see her passive-aggressive displays against White men and White women, but that's all what her level of "braveness" allows her to do.
She is nothing, but a JOKE.
@EmperorOfRussia I guess I hate my family then huh?
Who knows? You seem to have deeply rooted issues against Whites... I'd really not be surprised if you hate your White parents.
@EmperorOfRussia my parents aren’t white... I don’t hate anyone and I have nothing against white people. It wouldn’t make sense for me too 😒but of course you wouldn’t know that. Goodbye.
@EmperorOfRussia she black!
She isn't white either, so it's ok.
Shut the fuck up. Who cares
Why can’t the mermaid be a straight white male?
I don’t know I think it’s stupid. Ariel is white.
