I am not a Madonna fan. She is always bashing something. She bad-mouthed her Michigan hometown, also. So she can leave. I like my hometown, which is really close to where dopey Madonna grew up. But I do agree that Trump is an asshole. Madonna is right about that. But anybody with a brain in their skull knows that, so this isn't a reason to congratulate her.

@JimboGB There you go, you visited Portugal. You've never lived here. Visiting is one thing, living is another. Everything is amazing when you're in vacation. You don't face the problems that permanent residents do. You don't know what's like to live with 580€ per month (which is the minimum wage) and then have to pay 200€ or 300€ for rent. And still have other expenses like food, electricity, water, gas, school (if you have kids), healthcare etc...
And Portuguese people were only friendly to you because you were a tourist who was giving them money. They don't like foreigners and they're racist af.
I literally just told you, we have friends of the family which do live in Portugal, they are very happy with the life they have made for themselves there.
I agree Portugal doesn't have the greatest economy in the world but neither does most of the countries you can visit, including the majority of Europe.
If you are on minimum wage, that's a relaxation on your monetary value, a failure of your education to prepare you for the opportunities in the economy.

Portugal are paying the consequences for their membership of the EU. The education system and politicians are failing the youth in Portugal and across Europe. This is a problem in many euorpean countries and not one especially of Portugal.

Yes, being a member of the Euoprean Union means you lose control over aviculture, monetary, industry policies (and others), as well as your currency and ability to be competitive. They simple can't inforce change to benefit their youth, stimulus or the numbers of unemployed. Now having their currency linked to Germany's is helpful for Portugal but losing all autonomy is by far more negative and has greater effects.
Of course nobody chooses to be on minimum wage, it's a reflection on your value to the company you work for, as I already pointed out.

Some people work for 40 years and then they're only payed 200€ when they retire. In addition to that they have to pay for medication that costs 100€. But again, this is a good life, isn't?
