No. They're fake. They can't kill you, so that solves absolutely nothing. Here's something productive, and beneficial in the long-term for your kid and the society he or she is in: teach the kid how to use the real thing for self defense and what not to do with it at an early age.
Of course, this bit of common sense will continue to fall on deaf ears to modern americans.
not so sure a ban is needed but parental choice is enough and i would certainly never give toy guns to kids to play with. i should point out im not American so its not part of my culture
My dad bought my brother and I every toy gun we wanted. We had a full box of them. Eventually we were tired of guns and moved on. Weren't violent or big on guns as adults. He later explained that was the plan. Denying kids toy guns will only make them more interested in them. Let kids be kids and play cops and robbers, and teach them to be kind to eachother.
Demonizing a toy isn't a way to discourage kids from violence. Even if the existence of guns were eradicated from the universe people would still have violence in one way or another.
No, that's a non issue. Toy guns, violent video games and violent movies don't attribute to gun violence. Poorly raised, mental health, being dumb and having an easy access to a real gun causes gun violence.

they might as well. They've already banned "finger guns". haha. People getting arrested, suspended, whatever for pointing their god damn fingers at people. Obviously the gun-fearing pussies have missed a step. Should have banned toy guns first. Finger guns second. Morons can't even get that right.
I wouldn't let my kids have them. Either for pretending to kill people, or animals. I don't get how people think it's okay to pretend to kill a person.
I don't get how some think it's okay to limit the freedoms of others due to projecting their own inability to differentiate between the real and unreal.
No thats ridiculous. I have been around guns real and fake since I was 4. My father taught me how to shoot, gun safety etc. I've had GI Joes and toy guns since as far back as I can remember. Guns are not the enemy.
But cap guns are sort of real fake guns but usually they are in dollar stores but I don't really come across any unless I actually go look for them but they sort of sound sort of like a real gun because of the gun powder in the caps but they really uncommon to find in major places but only places where they usually are in is really only the dollar shops but pretty much they are really uncommon in major places.
Maybe, but that should strictly be the parent's choice. I wouldn't suggest it. They should have orange tips though, because it is nigh impossible to distinguish between a well-made toy Glock and a real one.

No, we have a mental health problem. And society calling young, disaffected, downtrodden males losers over and over again probably isn't helping.
But I suppose the schadenfreude is worth the occasional mass shooting.
If the toy guns can shoot out pellets that can harm someone
yes they should be banned.
Nope.

@ThisDudeHere 😂
I'm guessing you've never watched a violent movie?
No, and at least where I'm at anything remotely resembling a real firearm is required to have a blaze orange tip.
They should be used to train gun safety in schools. I think if school trained gun safety we wouldn't have so many issues with gun violence in schools.
Its harmless toys and I am pro gun anyway
Stupid people should be banned.
no cause then theyll ban lazer tag

Why not fake sword, shields, bow and arrows. All tools of war.
I kinda thought they were banned.. I don't see them in the shops anymore
They do have nerf guns that are pretty much everywhere in shops
That's a pretty sorta gun.. not like the real ones.. Which they use to have back in the days
Even super soaker guns as well
a lot of these foam flinging dart guns are in a lot of shops including Walmart these days
They're fine.. But seriously there use to be fake real ones!
Plus the Lazer tag guns are also in a lot of places but you're probably not going to find the real thing but it's common
I've never actually seen replicas in a shop but I've only ever seen the toy ones
Yeah it's a good thing!
