It's a fact. Name me a matriarchal civilisation today where they don't live in mud hutts in the middle of nowhere? Ask yourself why every major civilisation is or was patriarchal?
There have always been matriarchal and patriarchal societies. You've never heard of the matriarchal ones because they never become as successful as patriarchal cultures. Only patriarchy builds successful cultures. Otherwise you'd see major patriarchal and matriarchal societies in equal number. It's not that matriarchy hasn't been tried, it has, plenty of times. People have no idea.
Sometimes a patriarchal culture - built under patriarchy, just like ours - will become matriarchal. Only once it reaches a certain level of success though, never before. However, what brought it to success was patriarchy and patriarchal values. In doing away with that, they rid the culture of all the things that made it successful, and then it begins to slowly decline, until some kind of war or collapse happens.
That's why the only arguments against that quote are "that's sexist" and some other imaginary nonsense about the way people think it would turn out, but never does.

It's an exaggeration, to be sure, but how much of one? It's not really possible to know. We'd certainly be a lot more primitive, technologically. The two biggest drivers of technological advancement are conflict and risk-taking, and women are a lot more averse to both of those things.
I'd also point out that innovation has never been an exclusively male thing. Primarily, yes, but not exclusively. Taking the more productive half out entirely is going to do considerably more damage than just changing dominance would.
I agree because the men built the technology we use, cities, like pretty much everything. Nowadays, I see women just doing campaigns, nothing really "productive" just all words no action.
Look at bonobo society, it's matriarchal, they literally just fuck all day, we would be like that and it's already happening.
Gorilla or chimpanzee societies seem more orderly.
Well it's a little tricky to "build civilization" while giving birth, breastfeeding, and raising children. That's why there are 2 genders. Different roles. If men were expected to give birth, breastfeed, raise children, and build civilization, they wouldn't be able to do all of it either.

If that were said about a man, you know they’d say that quote is man hating.
No I don’t agree with it.Nope. Quite the opposite.
We would be living in the stars or other solar systems by now. Male centric civilisations tend to gravitate towards wars and conflict readily. Whereas civilisations where females have a more central role, tend to be more society and creativity orientatedWell its absolutely true so yes. I mean their is a reason why everything was invented by men and that is because male value comes from what he produces, women's value comes in her ability to give birth and raise young. Both are important but if you want civilization, only men can create that.
I don't think so , because they'd still get people like men to help them build things 😂🤣😂
Look at the African countries, they are being run by men and most African countries are third world shitholes
So African countries are very patriarchal but shitholesLol... yes. Women are very important and equally to our society as well as men, but without men who construct all sorts of things we will probably be living in grass huts.
who knows but if we were at least the planet wouldn't be dying
Just here to laugh at the answers and they did not disappoint. Of course that isn't true for fuck sake.
yea evolution just didn't give women leadership roles or traits
So women are that inferior?
I don't know about thatIt's obviously true. No one with half a brain and a shred of honesty would disagree.
No but I feel like we would be living in something more suited for earth what we have is destroying earth
If they were grass huts they would be good ones and the world would more peaceful...
Yeah men don't motivate women in the way women motivate men.
We’d be where we are now but without all the pesky world wars.
Grass huts if we're lucky! lol
No
we would live still in caves
