What can you do if you live in germany (or in one of the germanic countries) that dont protect you from stalking, death threats etc?

So the police in germany and other germanic countries like austria dont really do anything when it comes to stalking, death treaths until your stalker get physically abusive. Like wtf. Should the victims wait till they get killed according to the some police? We do have stalking laws but these are like joke , these dont even protect anyone. I am seriously scared right now. I did not know that we have such serious problem. I really want to know how to protect myself. If you live in germany/austria, how do you protect yourself from such problems?

I dont understand why some people think it is difficult to prove the stalking. If you get death threats thousand of times in thousand of ways via text messages or call for example, then you can show this to police. If you also get followed by the stalker everywhere everyday, civil police can check/controll it secretly if you tell the true. There are thousand of ways to figure it out, if someone get stalked. I think just some police forces are just lazy. We have stalking laws for a reason

Ja ich glaube, dass Stalking ein Problem ist, dass viel unterschätzt wird. Das Problem ist, dass Stalking erst ab einem gewissen Zeitpunkt strafbar sein kann, da es sonst Willkür wird. Stalking ist keine einfach nachweisbare Straftat, weil es eine psychologische Straftat und keine psychische Straftat ist. Letzteres wäre zum Beispiel das Ausrauben einer Bank oder Zerstörung von Eigentum. Damit die Polizei handeln kann, muss es sich offensichtlich um eine Straftat handeln. Nur weil du dich von jemandem bedroht fühlst, kann die Polizei ihn nicht ohne weiteres festnehmen. Denn es muss sich erst erweisen, dass er eine Straftat begehen könnte, das ist nicht immer schön, aber das ist die Grundlage einer Demokratie. Die Polizei macht häufig nicht viel, weil sie nicht viel machen darf. Denn ob jemand in U-Haft kommt, entscheidet ein Richter und nicht die Polizei und die Erfahrung hat gezeigt, dass solche Delikte nicht zu längeren Haftstrafen reichen.
Denn der Richter hört nicht die Opfer, sondern liest nur die Protokolle der Besprechungen. Baue dir einen Freundeskreis auf, der dir hilft. Denn selbst wenn du gestalkt werden solltest, ist eine Anschuldigung glaubhafter, wenn es mehrere Leute bestätigen können. You can't prosecute someone on the "chance" that they are going to do something, a "chance" to do something is simply NOT a crime.
Moreover, there is no evidence because a person claiming someone threatened them is simply not enough of an evidence, at best it's your word against theirs.

You know how many innocent people would go to jail on the basis of unfounded reports if we did that?

I'm not "protecting stalkers", I'm simply explaining to you why the law is the way it is, in Germany and in most countries of the world.

The police don't do that because they don't care about victims of stalking or harassment, or something.
They do that because their hands are tied, legally speaking, and because there are no other good legal alternatives to implement.
Of course, it's obvious what's happening to the victim, but it is not obvious to the police.

Your best choice, should you ever find yourself in that situation, is to record the person who is stalking you/threatening you, and hope they will commit a crime that they can get prosecuted for, such as destruction of property, or trespassing.
That's how most such cases are handled in practice.

To the best of my knowledge, no one has been convicted for any of these assaults, where individual women were surrounded and trapped by multiple men. I'm not even sure there were ever any arrests.

This was thanks to Merkel letting anyone in to Germany beginning in the Fall of 2015 without ID or a visa or even properly being interviewed, which of course was taken advantage of by criminals.
