A girl's guide to Call of Duty?

So, Boyfriend just taught me (vaguely) how to play COD. But I've never played a video game in my life, and I get playfully competitive and throw words like "You're going down!" Even though I fail at Tetrus let alone COD. So I'm wondering if there are little tricks to up my game?

There are tricks to every FPS game and they are listed as follows:

1) Learn to aim well with a variety of guns. Aiming mostly for head but upper-body will do.

2) Learn the map flawlessly. I'm talking every corner, every shortcut, every weapon spawn (This is only a problem if you're on such a mode where this things DO spawn)

3) It's a mind game. Toss a grenade of direction to flush him in another to be ready for the ambush. This works especially well when he didn't see you to begin with.

4) Have good reflexes and always be calm. The downfall of many girls who aren't used to this type of game with be to quickly jerk their thumbs in surprise and their aim will be off. Make slow thumb movements always and be sure to use your knife if an unsuspecting foe runs in your path.

5)* If you're playing split-screen. Look at his screen to know where he is. I guarantee he'll be doing it to you.

I forgot to add that in 'Call of Duty' specifically, you can customize your guns and pick different perks. You'll have to learn which combination of these you prefer to maximize your efficiency.

For number 5 if you can learn to win without doing that you'll be even better. If you attempt screen looking all the time you will suck ass online.

I agree. That's why I said it was only relevant to offline play. Since it's nearly impossible to win with two players of the same skill level but one is looking on the others' screen.

Use to play Halo nationally and it was all about practice. The more you practice the better you will get. If you're losing a lot, good! It means you're playing above your skill. When you 35-3 it's time to recognize you aren't doing yourself any favors, you're just wasting time.

Always play people better than you. (this is actually advice for any competitive game or sport in general)

Learn the buttons and practice. That's all there is to it. Play the campaign before you play online to get feel for the game.

I recommend Recruit just for learning then play medium(Forgot the name it's been awhile) to get some skill. Veteran isn't necessary.

Video games aren't hard if you try. I hate when people play all retarded. They press a button and they're like "Holy sh*t he throw a grenade!" :| It's just like duh.

To clarify on what I mean by retarded I mean people who don't attempt to actually learn. It's a video game it takes all of 10 minutes to learn how to play. It's not like you're learning how to do proofs in math class.

The call of duty games aren't about skill, they're about being cheap. Use claymores and the RCXD. Hide around corners waiting for people to run past. Just be a little bitch in general.

You have to know the buttons, and develop quick reflexes. Other than that, play it a lot. Eventually, you'll be good. Until then, you're going to get killed a lot.
