Fellow Asian-Americans, how are you coping with the ongoing anti Asian sentiment?

In order to be safe as someone who is part Asian, I carry tactical pens, pepper spray and some other “gadgets”. And I also avoid secluded areas.

However, most of the recent victims of anti Asian hate crimes are elderly Asian people and as usual the leftists tend to play it down as they once again show they don’t really seem to care about the Asian-American community. In fact, quite a lot of the anti-Asian sentiment is from leftists. What’s actually disgusting is how the leftists are trying to blame it all on the republicans, showing that they can’t even admit issues within their own groups. Not that long ago, An Asian man got in a argument with a bunch of far left protestors (more like agitators) who targeted him because he looks like Andy Ngo.

However, many Asians are starting to fight back. The people with anti Asian sentiments suddenly aren’t so “tough” when it’s one on one with an Asian that can fight back. Not to mention that many able bodied Asian Americans are starting to patrol their communities to protect vulnerable Asians from the cowardly degenerates.

Asians are of the most upper class in America if you look at the rates of incarceration, education, and socioeconomic status. there are hate crimes against homosexuals, Christians, Jews, whites, blacks, and Mexicans.

Yeah, they are fitting back alright, they are buying guns at record paces. My husband is a manager of retail establishment that sells guns. They come in purchase guns and they don't have the faintest clue how to use a gun. Many don't understand English and have trouble completing the applications for purchasing a gun. One couple in particular where taking pictures of the online application at the gun counter and where sending the pictures of the questions someone who was translating for them. The store subsequently refused the sale. What scares me the most are people running around with guns who aren't adequately trained in its safe operation.

Washington's immigration-controls are tough (for us citizens of 3rd-world nations), requiring us to fill a mountain of forms, be subject to background-checks, go through interviews, and submit to U. S.-law while still in our native jurisdictions… just for the CHANCE (yes, 'chance') to enter the U. S. If I remember correctly, the ability to carry a conversation in English was tested as an intrinsic part of the interview (done in English). Given the vast numbers of people U. S. embassies & consulates have condemned to rejections or sitting in waiting-lists for years (even decades) even when they looked promising, I am stunned that they apparently passed even when they could not have possibly interviewed in English competently. I can only imagine that SOME dependents with no English-skills would be allowed ONLY accompanied with an English-literate visa-applicant, but their numbers would be strictly controlled. Sure, they would be shielded from the rest of the English-speaking environment if they stick only with their compatriots, but that can be dangerous when it comes to firearms.

Especially with such deadly force, coordination & familiarity with commonly-shared rules, assumptions, and protocols is vital (which is why they should be able to, at least, study their resident-jurisdiction's necessary materials). If some run by 1nation's standards, while others run by yet another, while the predominant civilians & law-enforcement judge them both by their own (as do the newcomers), unnecessary bloodbaths are inevitable when misunderstandings arise. Pity & empathy will not raise their dead loved-ones from the grave. Pragmatism is needed to prevent their unnecessary demise in the 1st place.

Racists are attacking Asian elderly which i find the most disturbing, the most Disgusting and the most scary. I remember when the pandemic started and I first started hearing news of hate crimes against Asians, I would not let my parents go anywhere by themselves. In between feelings of bitterness that my family and I had nothing to do with the country where the virus originated from, and this shock that I was feeling so scared for all the Asian Americans I knew in this country that I had grown up and called my home, I was actually more frightened of hate crimes than the COVID.

Thankfully, I've not encountered it yet.

But sadly, my little-sister did from a patient (stricken with a form of dementia) she was treating as a nurse. She dealt professionally and tried not to take it personally, given the patient's condition. She also had management's support, so she was never assigned that patient again. (Actually, as to the whereabouts of that patient & whether she is still being treated in my sister's workplace, I don't know. That was the last my sister even mentioned encountered that person again.)

But to be prepared, I've maintained some safety-protocols: maintaining a distance from everyone else (for as much as is reasonably possible), going only to places (& only at times) with the fewest possible number of people as is reasonable, staying security-conscious, always keeping some weapon (s) on/near me whenever I'm outside, etc.

I can't buy firearms for confidential reasons, but I'm keeping pepper spray with me whenever I need to walk alone somewhere. I make sure to have my phone with me as well, and ready to hit that record button should I get attacked. Where I live, there definitely is anti-Asian sentiment but they are not crazy enough to physically attack people, it's more just glaring at them. I try to not go anywhere outside of the home besides work, and even at work I limit interact with customers there.

That tells me that they are making that conclusion simply trusting what the lab says.

But in the end China still withheld information not alerting WHO when they first discovered it. So even if it turns out that the virus came from a natural origin, they are still responsible not disclosing it to WHO when they discovered it. Other countries could have stopped travel sooner possibly keeping the virus from infecting all the other countries.

They remained silent about the virus for several months from December 2019 into late January 2020, at the request of the PRC. This was part of the reason why former US president Trump pulled the US out of WHO. Any WHO investigation is probably decided by the Chinese government.

It’s not a matter of castle doctrine or stand your ground not being licenses, it’s a matter of how certain states (specifically left leaning ones) have weak castle doctrines and don’t have a stand your ground law. Texas does not have a Castle Doctrine law, which illustrates the point I made above. The term is so misused it isn’t funny. If Stand Your Ground or MYD extends to the vehicle, workplace, or any place one has a legal right to be, Castle Doctrine no longer applies. The law is less restrictive, though who is the aggressor and other factors apply. You make a point, though. If one crosses the line into lethal force territory, be prepared to make it lethal. Center of mass, shoot until the aggressor stops, meaning empty the weapon if you have to, and if the aggressor doesn’t succumb to wounds after getting shot with 15 rounds, insert another mag and keep shooting. It really doesn’t matter if one shoots a single round or 20.

Not being detained is a human right, but if you had to prioritise human rights, probably not being killed would be on the top. Official UN complains only concern the violation of the human right of not being detained, no rape or torture is mentioned it only exist in western media. And if you have a look at how the west have fought terrorism (killed almost a million people, 350k+ civilian among them) and compare it how China fights terrorism, we can easily say that China makes the west look incompetent and uncivilised and no wonder why it spreads the anti China stuff.
