+1 yIt's hard to keep up with all the terminology lol.
But I definitely have seen simps out there. And it's not because they stand up for girls. There's always a reason to stand up for someone that can be considered respectable. But when the girl is clearly in the wrong and the guy still sides with her, it's definitely because he wants her favor or to be on her good side. I've seen it happen so many times in person. I won't go into detail because I can't even remember the scenarios exactly in my life, but in every scenario I can differentiate between a simp and someone that I can respect with ease.
Pick me girls in my opinion are very few and I rarely see girls that side with guys to get on their good sides. There are girls that genuinely believe in more traditional roles of guys and accept that men are generally physically stronger and women should be feminine because they embrace their femininity. They are the ones that are not into this modern toxic feminism and they're the type of girls I'm into. I don't think I've ever seen a "pick me girl" in person.00 Reply

No one will call a guy who stops a rape a simp, or a guy who just says rape is wrong.
But people who aren't simps are called simps, usually because the caller either dislikes the person who is deemed a simp or the person/group being "defended"/"provided for", even just the action itself.
One good example is a classic one. Group of friends makes a fun appointment, one cancels over something essential they have to do with their partner or because the partner warned about it.
Friends call person a simp.
Pick-me-up girl is basically the equivalent of "tryhard". It's an accusation against any woman that raises the bar too high. Just like slut is most frequently just an outgroup signifier that means "you are threading on my territory/you are a threat to me".00 Reply
A "simp" is often incorrectly applied to men who just treat women like people unfortunately. However actual simps just let people walk all over them because they want a certain person's attention. Very different.
"Pick me bitches" are women who put down other women, or align with certain behaviors to try and cater to the guys who are throwing around "simp" at any man who dares to respect women. They often approve of the misogynistic behavior that some narcissistic or entitled men exhibit, because they want to sleep with or gain thier approval.
"pick me girl" can of course be misused just like "simp," by someone who doesn't know how to use the term. There's nothing wrong with standing up for men when it's right, just like any particular group. So it shouldn't be used in that instance. But yeah that's the basic gist.63 Reply
Asker+1 yI have seen a woman being called a pick me girl for saying that it is wrong for women to say I hate men and kill all men.

People say theu hate etc not because theu literally hate a person but what theu do. Its understandable because I myself hate what men do. Yet a lpt pf men seem to not care and make excuses fpr their hypersexialized behavior. The same way I told anpther 17 year old girl who is treating guys like a toss away jusy because this one guy is scared of females. But use her as justification to treat him like garbage because he rejected her for a relationship. She wants to kill a person is wrong. The word hate, depending on the context of how was used, can be wrong depending on the intention. But a person that say that it's something that's been hurt, abused, used, and treated poorly. The thing is that the person who has said that is wrong for me to say that they hate men or to kill our men is just as long as the ones who say that because they do not understand at the core of a person they have been damaged. Just like it's wrong for meant to say what to say about women, but their way has seen a lot of women treat men can I blame them for saying how they hate women? No. People are people, a lot of people are wicked and evil today.
It is definitely super childish lool I remember being 10-12 and hearing kids accuse people of fancying others if they took their side or stood up for them. It was particularly the case if adults did it - for instance parents and teachers. A girl thought her mum had a crush on her female private tutor because she always took her side when actually this was a spoilt girl and the mother was very strict - AND also, mind you VERY straight lol. So yeah, it is a very kiddish thing. The guy standing up for the woman might not even have an inkling of interest in said woman and same in the case of women who stand up for men. Sometimes people just do it because it is morally correct.

+1 yA “pick me girl” isn’t somebody who stands up for men. A “pick me girl” is somebody who will put other girls down to prove she’s “better” or “not like the other girls”, and she’ll just behave like she’s better than basically every girl putting them down for wearing makeup, what they eat, what they wear- they’ll try so hard to prove they’re “one of the boys” which comes with again, putting other girls down.
Or they’ll just make excuses for guys clearly doing wrong things for the sake of male approval. Like once we were watching a video in class where a woman was walking through New York for 10 hours and they basically showed all the harassment she faced- these girls in my class claimed it wasn’t harassment and the dudes were “just trying to be friends” when it was clearly harassment.33 Reply

Yes, you will get some people taking it out of context, I do see people getting called a pick me for the dumbest things, but ultimately that’s not what a pick me is,
- +1 y
Never seen it used like u say @SpiderManFan2002 I only have seen it when Girls have a positive attitude towards men or tell women not to play games if they want a good men.
It kinda is used to throw at women that present themselves as marriage material
There is a HUGE difference between defending the opposite sex and irrationally worshipping them. Not sure about pick me girls as I've never really seen/ heard of one. But simps, holy shit they seem to be every where. They are the types that are willing to sacrifice their own dignity and self resect just for the chance of getting some wet. They are types that turn a blind eye to women's shitty behaviours. They are the types that will do ANYTHING, including putting other men down in a desperate attempt for female validation.
40 Reply6K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. It is neither misandry nor misogny. People want to produce an atmosphere of shame around anyone who tries to help someone else. Its like in high school how christians are scorned because it is assumed they will be too scared to do anything "wrong" even if the only reason it is wrong is because it is fun. Well, after high school that trend continues and anyone who wants to do the right thing still gets scorned - sadly Christians tend to abandon doing the right thing after high school, though, and instead just use their religion to feel good about their bad choices.
10 ReplyI dont see guys as being simps for standing up for women personally. I think of a simp as a guy who gives his resources (time, money, etc) to a woman in hopes of winning her attention and affection.
I hadn't even heard of a pick me girl before so I had to look it up. Basically a "not like other girls" kind of girl. I guess if she is doing the same thing then it works too.41 Reply- +1 y
The way pick me girl is used is like this
Every girl that acknowledges that men have emotions and aren't privileged and dares to tell women to treat men with respect
They are actually the kind of Girls men like me that are sick and tired of girls playing games hope to meet one day
. So if you ask me pick me girl is synonym for marriage material woman.
A simp is exactly what u say but is also used for anyone guy that doesn't see women as object
How to become a simp: keep playing the Girls games and be their emotional punching bag but nothing else
Women aren’t looked at as pick me girls for standing up for men. Women are only looked at as pick me girls if they put down women in order to get the attention of a man.
Men are looked at as simps for standing up for women can other men think it’s ok to make fun of women or feminine things so when a man says that’s wrong than they’ll make fun of said person for calling out their bigotry20 Reply- 778 opinions shared on Society & Politics topic.
+1 yIt depends on the way in which that support is shown.
Simps and "pick me girls" (never heard this one) have the tendency to be cringeworthy and pathetic about it. Thus the scorn.
Nobody wants to be paired with such derelicts of their respective genders.10 Reply 1.7K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Because if you blindly defend women you are a simp who mindlessly attacks on command. Just like a dog. Simps tend to put her vagina on a pedestal and a lot of their motivation is to get female approval which they think will ultimately get them greater access to sex too. It's all about thinking that a woman is the most important/valuable thing in the universe. If you're not a simp you will know that facts are more important than her emotions or wants. You will make decisions based on principles.
00 ReplyThese terms are used either by very young people or immature ones. I haven't heard anyone over 30 throwing the term ”simp” around in real life.
”Simp” and ”pick me girl” are (over) used mostly online, to make fun of others/mock them. Some people may just as well be simps and pick me girls, but don't worry - standing up for someone, in real life, won't make you one.05 Reply- +1 y
This is not true. You can be a Simp at any age. a "Simp" is a Simpleton. But in this context, it refers to guys that are pussies.
Example:
A guy has the hots for a girl, but she puts him in the friend zone. She only calls him when she needs help with something. The Simp will gladly paint her house, mow her lawn and drive her to the airport.
She would never ask her boyfriend to do these things, and why should she? She has a perfectly able Simp to take care of this shit for her.
Standing up to a girl is a far cry different than being her doormat. - +1 y
@AzzaBlue
Simps think they're scoring points, but in reality, they're losing points.

"These terms are used either by very young people or immature ones. "
I think people throw such terms around too loosely and quickly although there are some types out there who seem a bit too eager to do it. I think the key to coming off as a gentleman rather than a simp is to have some healthy reluctance, and also the key to being an impartial mediator and conflict resolver is to avoid hastily and blindly choosing sides. Typically both parties are at least partially in the wrong.
02 Reply- +1 y
Typically I think one agrees with anyone else 100%. So if I see someone who always seems to agree with someone else and wholly sides with them on everything, then it raises my suspicions. I'm not the type to throw around terms like "simp" but I have seen my share of genuine asskissers.
Not at all. Equality is treating everyone the same. Simps have a bias towards women, and pickme's have a bias towards men. These biases are wrong and unjust.
Sometimes people overuse "simp" and "pickme," but they're a good way to describe people who throw their own gender under the bus to score some points with the opposite one.00 Reply
