Healthcare worker here.
Not yet, but there's talk that eventually it will be mandatory.
... I told my boss point blank that's fine. I'll take it when it becomes mandatory and not a moment sooner. In the meantime, I wear my mask- which guess what...
Even those that are vaccinated STILL have to do around patients and in patient care areas. The only time those that are vaccinated can take off their masks is when they are NOT exposed to patients... in a hospital.
Yeah, see where I'm going with this logic?
No, I am not "anti-vax" as I received all my other vaccines and had no problem doing so.
I just rather wait until the vaccine has been out longer than, what... a year, if that? Before being used as a guinea pig. In the meantime, until my work overlords tell me it's mandatory, I'm not going near it and continue protecting myself as I have been since all this started.

I'm a small business owner/operator, so it's not required for me or anyone who works for the businesses. Due to unavoidable exposure to families and the community, however, I've received the vaccine and have encouraged others to take it. I've reimbursed them for any expense (such as co-pays) they incurred in getting vaccinated. Only three have not/will not take it, one because of doctor's advice due to certain allergies, two because they choose not to.

I don’t think it’s very wise to just allow something in your body that you’ve never had before without knowing just because we were told to this would mean that you did all your research before you put something in your body that you have no idea what’s in it or what I can do right? I’ll call this common sense and critical thinking. It’s not being anti-vaccine at all. So when people say that it completely shows the lack of making critical decisions on their own thinking versus a pass down solution that you can only just take a chance with no guarantee. Created very quickly unlike any other which takes years and years and some still haven’t been created. You mustLook into past issues that vaccines have caused. You must be willing to do our research and not just go off of what doctors and CDC‘s say their people to that a lot or make mistakes this is a fact. So there really is no excuse for someone not asking more questions being more vigilant and ensuring that they are making the best choice with their life which can’t be reversed after done. So many bad things that happen even after and yet still mentally program to just believe why do we believe what we believe without a question that’s quite scary. But the point is I support your choice because it’s your choice and my heart is still with you anyways because we’re all here in this together. And if you did not I support thatBecause that’s a choice it’s your right to choose for your body and not be forced or coerced or manipulated by someone else’s choice. We all decided for ourselves just because you made the choice and you think it’s the proper choice would make no sense for someone else to do it just because you think it’s the right thing you don’t have the same brain hello that person knows what’s best for them that’s what we need to start understanding here in this world staying in our own lane. BesidesHow would you feel if you suggested this to someone what kind of manipulated someone that was weak minded into doing this and then the repercussions with life damaging even fatal. Yeah I know that have been scared of what you’ve heard and seen with Covid but does that make this drive your judgment is it from fear. The truth is you can’t be sure and that’s a fact if it isn’t show us people will tell you what they wanna tell you and show you what they want to show you let’s just make sure that we’re doing the best for ourselves and our families and stop going out and being a messenger and causing disruption and divide within people sit back be quiet listen pay close attention thank you God bless
No, and I would sooner spit in someone's face who tried to make me get the vaccine than to actually get it.
This job I'm leaving right now actually tried to make me download some BS Google OTP app on my phone, which every single review is saying f*cks up their phone and locks you out of your Google accounts, and I had a fight with my boss (the same woman I posted about sucking dick in the office, after hours) about it. I told that cunt that no company can force me to download things onto my own personal device and that it can't be "mandatory" because not everyone owns a smartphone, and they couldn't just fire anyone who didn't own one, or refused to give them access to their personal device for work-related nonsense.
So, if I won't install an obtrusive Google app on my phone, what makes anyone think I'll get a COVID vaccine put in me? I think only in modern-day Marxist/Communist America would they even have the balls to try that sh*t. I suspect the lawsuits are a comin'!Good question. The poll results are interesting.
The so-called vaccine is experimental. Therefore, to take it is to volunteer to participate in an experimental medical trial. To "require" a healthy person to participate in an experimental medical trial violates the Nuremberg Codes and other national and international laws. It's a crime against humanity.
The way that government gets around the law is by coercing people. "We can't force you to take the jab, but it you don't you can't enter public buildings or travel."
The way businesses get around it is by saying "You don't have to get the jab because you're free to go find another job if you don't like our rules." "If you don't get the jab, you can't fly on our airline."
In other words, they make it so that you have a choice, even if the choice is devastating. It's extortion. What if they said "You have a choice of getting the jab or never seeing your children again."I work for a healthcare organization who made COVID vaccinations available to ALL employees back in February at no cost. I got one ASAP. We are not required to get them, but are strongly encouraged to and penalized in some subtle ways if we don't, even those of us who are not patient facing.
But as a healthcare company, I can understand that. We, more than most others, are painfully aware of the devastating human cost of the COVID pandemic. We see it in our hospital facilities every day. I am not patient facing myself but in my role I do interact regularly with clinical folks so I get the facts second hand. It's not pretty. I am knowledgeable enough to know the potential risks of vaccines, but also educated enough to know that those risks are miniscule compared to the benefits, to both individuals and society.
Personally I support employers who force employees to get vaccinated, or at least penalize those who choose not to. I understand that doing so infringes on the rights of those who don't believe in the vaccine, but those people put others at risk and it can literally be a life and death proposition for many people. I support people's right to freedom... until it infringes on the rights of others, especially when their health and indeed their lives are put at risk. To me, it's the same argument some smokers use when they say they have the right to smoke in public. Nope, not when you expose others to your smoke. It's a proven health risk, and your right smoke does NOT trump another person's right to not breath your smoke.
I have no respect or compassion for people who are happy to enjoy the benefits of a vaccinated society but unwilling to take the small risk everyone else does in order to do their part.- u
As far as I know, our employer has not made it a requirement for me or my husband to be vaccinated against COVID-19. We have chosen to get it anyways. I got my first shot of Pfizer in late April and my second one is next week. I teach children under age 12, who are not able to get any of these vaccines, so I view my choice to get a vaccine as a benefit to my students in the long run.
I disagree with making it a requirement for any situation, for the simple reason that such mandates are discriminatory to anyone who legitimately cannot get the vaccine. This goes for any vaccine, by the way, not just the Covid one. An acceptable level of herd immunity should be good enough to protect a community, or at least lessen the impact of an infectious disease. We have seen this with other established vaccines like the polio vaccine, TDaP, MMR, etc. The relatively small number of people who don’t take these shots for whatever reason, are essentially inoculated by being part of a community with sufficient amounts of people who did get those shots. When is the last time there was an outbreak of polio, tetanus, or diphtheria (for example) in a region with good access to advanced Western medicine? I know these diseases are often more debilitating than COVID-19, but it’s just to illustrate my point.
I expect that the vaccine for COVID-19 will eventually be treated much like the annual flu shot - not necessarily mandatory for most people, but suggested and revised each year to combat variants. We're talking about the possible extinction of the human race. The virus keeps mutating. The delta version is getting past the Russian and Chinese vaccines.
Only 10% of all the humans in the world have been vaccinated. As long as the virus is circulating it will keep mutating. Mutations that defeat vaccines, spread faster and kill faster are inevitable. The antibodies from one mutation maybe don't protect one from the next mutation.
Speaking for myself here, I am not an irresponsible, suicidal fool. Nobody has to tell me to get vaccinated.
Think about it as the ultimate IQ test. You fail you die. On behalf of those of us with an IQ higher than a pencil eraser - good riddance. You can take your flat Earth, no moon landing, Trump is president idiocies to the grave with you.
Just MHO.Pressure, guilt and coercion have been imposed, but thankfully it's not been de facto mandated yet, at least in my line of work.
It beggars belief how people aren't even questioning the fundamentals of this, when it's so overtly based on shoddy science. Unfortunately, humanity has a rather painful lesson coming its way.My parents gave me the choice between get vaccine or not being able to meet up with friends anytime soon without making me feel bad about every chance they get.
So I come from a medical household being the only one that´s not working in medicine coming from a neighbour where about 50% of my neighbours are considered to be part of the risk group because age or any kind of diseases.
I got the vaccine without anykind of side effects hoping that restrictions gonna be lowered when enough people got it because if that´s not going to happen I´ll spend all my study at university in my bedroom studying from a screen and I don´t know if I could survive that.
I don´t buy in the theories that Bill Gates wants to control everyone because everyone who has an android smartphone is already controlled by Google. Apple products aren´t that much better.
We already live in a society where the tech companies no everything anyways.I’m not required, but I saw Dave Chappelle live on Friday night, and you had to be tested on-site the day of the show with a rapid-result test. If you refused or failed the test, you were not allowed into the venue. If you failed, your entire group couldn’t get in, but you would be refunded in full. Then they said masks were mandatory, but once inside, the DJ emceeing the show said they were NOT mandatory but encouraged. THEN, Donnell Rawlings, aka Ashy Larry, came out and opened for Dave, and he called us all pussies for wearing masks... it was THEIR call, wtf🤦♂️😂 But he mentioned Dave was obsessed with testing his crowds nowadays, although Dave said in his set that he had had corona himself (said nothing happened to him and he was “The Magic Johnson of corona, he just got stronger”😂😂😂), and I think most of us just all ditched our masks by the time Dave Came out anyway. I did get a sweet keepsake mask with Chappelle’s “C” logo on it though, not that I need it anymore, haha.
Universities is the first hard stop requirement for some younger adults, already seeing that being required. Like during my time when I got admitted the MMR vaccine was required to enroll in classes otherwise you needed MD documentation to avoid it.
Those of us who work in healthcare it's eventually going to be required if not already in some places, like that Texas healthcare system. The flu shot was kind of already a normal protocol, and you had to have a document of reactions or allergies to avoid it.
Then you have some wall street cats since they are around a lot of people often. Like Morgan Stanley in NYC will not allow anyone without a vaccine to work for them, and clients are not welcome into their building without.Already had it and got better in January 2020 along with dozens of our friends. No fever, no aches, no coughing/sneezing/wheezing, no significant breathing problems- just felt like I had been hit with a truck for a week. But I digress - - - -
I am self-employed and I am not requiring myself to take the jab, and none of the places I visit frequently do either. As a Massage Therapist, I already use Standard Precautions as they are called in the profession, and have added other safety measures, as well.Yes and no. My boss requires it to work in the building, which I only need to be present in two times a month. But I got it on my own volition because I trust in the medical science and to protect myself and loved ones.
My college is requiring it go back to school in Fall, I know many others are too. I’m personally fine with it since I’m already vaccinated though
------As a dating coach I have decided not to require myself to get the vaccination. Ha
Charlie Brown: Snoopy I am afraid of Corona.
Snoopy: Stop whining and have a Budweiser.
~Coach T Anthony @thedatecoach IGIt is currently illegal to require the covid vaccine…. It is a personal choice 🌸
My cousins are immunocompromised so if I wanted to see them I had to get vaxxed. I also just wanted to get vaxxed anyways, so I got my second dose yesterday.
We are not required at my day job but are certainly encouraged. The factory has a mask mandate, but soon we can have an exception if we are fully vaccinated. A badge issued by HR for those who voluntarily show their vaccination card allowing others to see at a glance if they must wear a mask or not.
Not for me, no. I think legally speaking, my university isn’t allowed to force me. That said, a few months ago the European Court of Justice allowed some Czech child daycare to reject people based on not having had a polio vaccine. Theoretically, this could be extended to a covid vaccine as well, but that very much remains an open question.
Still the fear mongering continues. No, most countries do not make the vaccine mandatory, because that's not how vaccines work. Not everyone can take them.
But you know as well as I do, the people screaming about the evils of the vaccine, will tell every lie they can to avoid caring for those around them. The thing that I hate about the entire situation is. People who got thier Covid shots were put on a list and entered into a lottery. I may be wrong but is that not a major HIPPA violation? I may think harder about getting one just as long as I am not put on a list and entered into something that I didn't give consent for. I am not against getting vaccinated. I am against people being able to track me more than they should.
