I used to live in a small city who had a three-term mayor first elected at 22. Tough job too, a lot of poverty and crime there. Anyway, he served until he ran for state congress this year (he’s in his early 30s now) but lost the primary to his party’s incumbent representative. Now he’s accepted a town manager position in this vacation town that’s a big art colony/gay party town, and he’s a gay dude, so that’s gotta be a dream job for the kid, lmao.
Why, if you're supported by your opponent, is there even a need to run?
We both support each other, as we have the same goals, we just disagree on the methods! Plus he didn't really want to run, but the other chance was that someone else who doesn't have the best interests of our town at heart would try, so he got convinced to be my adversary.
That's nice. Although I don't want to get too political, the reason I feared Pence becoming President if Trmp was removed is that he wanted what he thought was best for the country, while it wasn't. Trump just wanted what was best for him. So if it helped or hurt us, we knew it wasn't intentional.
I understand, to be honest Pence seems to be much more hardline on some things, though to be honest I also noticed he defied Trump when he asked him to stop the electoral process.
Here we mostly want to keep out all the political parties - both right and left - because they tend to focus resorces on themselves rather than the city - we both run in unaffiliated civil lists and the risk of someone else running would be that she/he could be from some political party.
Pence couldn't really do it. There are extreme cases where it could conceivably happen, but it isn't really in his power. The law doesn't state that he can't stop it which is the ambiguity, so there was a chance he might've had that power if he tried to use it. The attack on The Capitol made it a mostly pointless attempt if he had tried. You know that when Congress votes almost unanimously to give Biden the presidency, it won't be stopped.
If you’re smart and know your stuff and what to do for your community than age shouldn’t matter

The local laws dictate who can be a mayor, based on age.
Not necessarily, though I'd hope you would surround yourself with some quality advisors.
As long as they meet the minimum requirements, anyone can be mayor, or governor, or POTUS.
Better than some old ass dinosaur
Age is not a determining factor.
Not at all
In a capitalist society yes but morally no
No it isn't.
