Microbes perhaps, but anything more sophisticated is extremely unlikely.

The closest star system that astronomers think could support life is fifty light years away. But, given the Dake equation and observations, it is extremely unlikely it does have any life at all, let alone some advanced species. But if there was they would come up against the light speed barrier. So at their absolute theoretical quickest an alien would spend 50 years of their life traveling the 50 light years to get here. And they would have spent a nearly infinite amount of energy doing it at that speed. Or, traveling 100 years using a slightly less infinite amount of energy. This is assuming there is space-faring alien in our backyard (which is unlikely). Whatever life there is would need to be close enough, advanced enough, be listening to know we are here, and have a desire to embark on the 50, 100, 500 year voyage.
We also need to ask ourselves “are we really that interesting” to travel so far for so long and then return to a home so far away for so long to report about us? They’d have to pack enough food as well. Alien generations would live and die on their journey.
Also, Earth has been broadcasting strong enough radio signals aliens that could pick up for only 100 years. That signal travels at the speed of light which means it has only travelled 100 light years. There are only 76 stars within that 100 light year bubble. Probably nobody even knows we’re here to invest in visiting. The universe is so big that there are some places where light hasn't even reached yet. And you know, we need light if we want to see things. Anyways, by the time the light does reach these places, our solar system would be dead as the sun would have ran out of energy by then. This is LIGHT we're talking about. The fastest thing in the entire universe.
So basically, what this all means is the universe is so massive that its physically impossible for us to even perceive it fully in this lifetime. And to think that there's not even one single life form out there its downright stupid.“Two possibilities exist: either we are alone in the Universe or we are not. Both are equally terrifying.” Arthur C. Clarke
I believe the chances that we are alone in the universe (as intelligent life), is so ridiculously small, it might as well be 0. At best, we are alone in this part of the galaxy. But even the chances of that are low. If the universe was the Sahara desert, this world is like a grain of sand in it. There's no way this grain is the only "special" grain in the desert (and that's of course if we assume there isn't more than one universe, more than one desert)It depends entirely on what's meant.
When you ask for proof... It implies to me you're talking about little grey dude buzzing around the countryside, abducting cows and drunks to anally probe.
In that case, no. Those aliens don't exist.
As a much wider concept, that somewhere out there in the vastness of the universe, there might be life? It's almost a statistical certainly. It would be extremely surprising to learn that abiogenesis had occurred once, and once only in our entire universe.Of course. The universe is so vast there has to be life out there somewhere. Just because it hasn't been proven yet, doesn't mean there's nothing out there. The universe is VAST, and it could take an entire generation for a signal to reach and advanced civilization and then for us to receive one back, so finding something is no easy feet. But we're trying. And I feel within the next couple centuries, we will make contact.
Whether or not they have been to earth is more questionable, though I've seen things.
But scientists have already found evidence of microbes on other planets. Certainly far from ET, but it still counts.Absolutely, I just don't believe that we have been visited by any Sentient, intelligent alien space faring cultures. However, I do believe that alien biology, (alien microbes), have influenced the character, and evolution of our biosphere. The confirmation of amino acids, "the building blocks of proteins), discovered in meteorites, specifically carbonaceous chondrite. This line of research is known as abiogenesis.
As The X-Files cast would say when asked this question endlessly for over a decade.. “It’s plausible.”
If big foot hasn’t been strapped to the hood of some guys truck yet, and it’s supposed to exist on our planet with us.. Whose to say a vast unknown universe doesn’t contain other intelligent life forms? Hope they are smart enough to stay away. :)It's estimated that there are 700,000,000,000,000,000,000 planets in the universe. To suggest that life exists only on earth is just absurd.
Mathematically speaking, life almost certainly exists in other planets. Why we haven't seen any? Astronomical distances, Time delay for the light to reach us and technical difficulties in observation methods. You can research Fermi paradox to read more.Aliens can come in any life form. So I am quite sure that in some other galaxy or universe, there is at least some different type of life form than the ones on Earth.
Lets think about this logically, our universe is so huge that I feel like it’s less of a chance that there are not aliens. There are trillions of planets in the universe so I don’t think that earth is the only one with life and think about it like this: We are trying to find alien life and failing but there could be another alien race doing the same thing.
Aliens are exist. But that's not how they look. And they never came to the Earth.
In the observable universe, which is estimated to be 93 billion light-years across, there are unimaginably many galaxies, solar systems and planets. there must certainly be intelligent life forms in them.Sure, but not in the way that they are portrayed in movies/sci-fi books. Considering how big our universe actually is, it would be kind of baffling for us (every organism on earth) to be the only living beings.
In the vastness and the incredible age of the known universe, I think it's hard to believe that we are all there is, was, or will be. Its just too big and too old.
My current thinking is that yes they do exist but no none of them have visited Earth (I don’t believe FTL travel exists irl)
I think they exist, but I don't think any of the "sightings" are genuine. They're out there somewhere but there are so many stars in the universe and so many planets around them that they'd have no reason to take an interest in Earth.
The probability of us being the only life form in the galaxy is very slim. Plus a lot of classified CIA documents came out that kind of exposes the existence of them
Well I don't know because I've never seen one. If they really do exist maybe they're far away in outer space or some alternate universe. Or maybe they don't exist at all
Yes I think it's ignorant to think we are the only intelligent creatures that exist
These poll results are shocking. I had no idea THAT many people believe in aliens. I do also but I’d thought that I’m in the minority.
Statistically, they must exist.
Perhaps not yet or not anymore, but it's impossible to me that in this huge-ass Universe there's only us.
