You really can't tell people to "quit believing propaganda" when you're talking about "undocumented immigrants". An "undocumented" immigrant is one who's forgotten his or her wallet at home. Illegal aliens are here illegally, and that's a problem. They may be fantastic people; they're still criminals. They're still not paying taxes, but absorbing the benefits of the things tax money is spent on. They're still, by virtue of generally taking whatever jobs they can get, driving wages down and crippling the bargaining power of our unions. They're still driving up housing prices.
Now, Jose the migrant fruit picker doesn't control Washington; it's very much the responsibility of the American political establishment to make immigration laws that actually WORK, and neither party has an interest in doing so. And our current immigration laws truly suck. But they are the laws, and no one has any sort of fundamental right to live where they choose, regardless of the desires of the people who live there. Any practical long-term solution is going to have to involve SOME form of amnesty: maybe let those who're already here illegally come forward and take the citizenship test; maybe set up some kind of community sponsorship program. Maybe something else. But while a person is essentially living like a political leech, it's perfectly reasonable to resent him for it, regardless of his humility.
@Steven8000 and yet they are unable to get into the country legally and contribute to the society. Illegals don't pay taxes for one. Because they are typically paid below minimum wage they do get into criminal acts, such as drug dealing, to help support themselves and their families. It's not like you or any of your brainwashed ignorant leftist friends doing anything to support them because as illegals they don't/can't apply for government assistance.
They many times give a bad reputation to their country peers who get into countries legally and are trying to better themselves. Many of whom due to the regions they come from already face racist ideology, stigma, and difficulty getting jobs without illegals adding to the issues.
Maybe sheltered white boys and girls like you, who know less than nothing about minorities, should move to countries of illegals and see how well you survive. Not very long because those countries are not soft and weak-kneed like the world you're used to.
why do some people get to skip the rules and jump over the fence when others are waiting in line after many years of hard work and stress? i'm sure that immigrants who move to a country legally are also hard working and decent people. people should follow the rules.

u I don't think that too many people think ILLEGAL ALIENS are bad people. They simply think that Democrats want open borders to create a generation of VOTERS who are entirely dependent on the largesse of Democrat controlled welfare budgets.
And some of us are concerned about people flooding into this country untested and without regard for the current pandemic.

As for hard working & humble you would be too if you are paid minimum wage or less, when you couldn't speak the local language too well, and with the constant threat that your employer or neighbors may call immigration on you.
It is not hard to comprehend why illegals are so. All a person does is use their brain.

Now as for people's problems with illegal immigrants.
1) They take the lowest paying jobs, lower than minimum wage even. Companies love this as they can hire 2 or 3 illegals for every local. This in turn costs locals to lose their jobs and drives down not just wages but the economy as a whole.
2) Depending on the region and the mentality mass immigration of illegals doesn't actually increase house prices, it decreases them severely. Or, as above with #1, the lowered economy causes house prices to hit rock bottom.
3) They do not pay taxes or other fees that Americans & legal immigrants do. Do you think money grows from trees? Everything from maintenance of roadways to schools is supported by tax & other moneys that illegals don't contribute.

4) They take away from resources that Americans and legal immigrants who are struggling need. Shelters as example. Free or discounted meals. Discounted housing. There are senior citizens who have been on American soil for 7 to 8 decades that receive less care than an illegal who has been on American soil for 7 to 8 days.
5) Because they are illegals they can not get a driver's license nor insurance yet that doesn't mean they don't drive. Similarly if they commit criminal acts it is far, far harder to locate them than a legal American or immigrant.
Sure they’re good people, but they are illegal and should come in legally as we need to protect American citizens. There are a lot of notable correlations to crime and borders tagged along with economic ramifications. When our government makes decisions that impact so many people, they have to make these decisions based on data and facts rather than solely emotion. Saying these people are good people is an emotional statement based on anecdotal experience. It doesn’t carry within it any substance when making decisions that impact others on a population scale.
As a Mexican/American I can tell you that I’m for secure borders. While the majority of illegals who come in here are good people, we need to setup a controlled filtered system to keep the bad out. Cartels, coyotes, drug smugglers, and murderers come across the borders too- and more of them will come if we create an more incentive for them to do so. The government should protect American citizens and their own citizenry needs to be their priority. It’s never an effective strategy to light yourself on fire to keep someone else warm.

We should only let in a small number of immigrants per year.
We should be picky about who we let in... the standards should be high and we should only accept far less then 1 million per year.
Just having the floods gate open and millions to just flow in endlessly... hardly knowing anything about any of them... totally shifting the demographics of the entire country.

Since many hate our own country now I'm not surprised they cheer on the collapse of our culture and fully support a large cluster of the world population to just relocate here.
I think the needs to apply to everyone. It all comes down to walking in someone else's shoes to experience their life. Example everyone should work a holiday season in retail to appreciate what abuse people are subjected to. The same applies for jobs that many consider below their standards to do that.
You can not change people's minds when they have hate in their hearts and do not think past what they are told.
We all have the ability to be more knowledgeable but in the end for most ego and entitlement wins.
People constantly everyday do illegal things but yet criticize everyone around them, it's redundant.
Don't try to change their minds if the world wants to grow as people and learn to fight for a better life for all they will, but most are self centered and not really thinking of you, me, or others.
In the end all we can do is live our lives and ignore those who simply speak.

Whether or not someone is a "good person" is a value judgement, but someone who knowingly enters a country illegally and works there illegally isn't my idea of a "good person". In addition, there is a lot of behavior that "good people" don't engage in that is associated with working illegally, such as using stolen Social Security numbers or committing tax fraud.
I agree completely. I'm a white guy that grew up in south Texas and now live in north Texas and have had LOTS of exposure to undocumented immigrants and adult children of undocumented immigrants. In my experience, they do their best to stay out of trouble, work very hard for their families and would be terrific Americans if they wanted to and we let them. If people would just talk to them, they'd see what I mean.
I'll agree if you agree that these leftist dumbasses need to start casual conversations with officers sometime in the 40 times per day that they call the police while simultaneously advocating for the complete abolishing of police in the country. They exist as a hidden underclass without the protection of the law, or the benefits of citizenship. They also take without paying taxes, and the people who hire them are exploitative and betray the common good of their countrymen.
The solution would be just to give the ones who are here a pathway to legitimate legal residency, and get them to pay taxes and receive at least minimum wage. Meanwhile actually securing the border, and modernizingy the currently broken legal immigration system.
It doesn't matter if they're good people or not, lawlessness can't just be ignored without a cost. We should not be okay with the formation of a semi enslaved underclass.

Im alil tired of watching immigrants pass by the American people such as housing, did u know in california immigrants here block housing for Americans because they dont have a house or jumping on food stamps and more and some just finesse the governement, Disrespect Americans by doing what they do and then were suppose to just sit there and accept it? a lot can become legal but choose not too. California is a sanctuary state and most cities don't deal with ICE so they're protected but they should not be entitled to the same rights unless they become legal. We took. in enough immigrants it's not the united states burden & the US did destabilize tons of Southern American countries during the cold war but at this rate, it no longer is fair for the American people to be stepped over.

The fact that illegal migrants are hardworking isn't the issue. It's the fact they're illegal.
I'm sure many are good people, but that's not the issue. The issue is that they are still criminals for crossing over the border without going through the security checkpoint (if they really wanted to become citizens, then I wouldn't mind putting them through the citizenship process in case this was an error). If we just leave our borders wide open, we risk letting people who DO want to cause harm in whether they are spies, wanted violent criminals or people who have covid.
In a perfect world, we wouldn't need a border security. However, given how the US is a major target by many countries such as China and Russia, being this forgiving could be our downfall.
I've worked at a motel for the last 8 years and can say from experience, do not be fooled by a pretty face. Many "good people" came through that front desk and claimed good intentions, but in the end it was all a facade to just get in through the checkpoint.
The US border is the same way, not as many "good people" as you'd like to believe and even less who are actually here to better their lives.

If you don't believe in boarders just don't enforce the one you control directly, your home, and advertise that it's not controlled. And don't control your personal space as well, most humans are nice.
Personally I think they need to grow up. An intelligent person should not have to experience every single little thing personally to realize even simple concepts. Would be nice if they could just have a think for like 5 minutes and realize that people are just people and it does not really change all that much where they come from.
