+1 yYou really can't tell people to "quit believing propaganda" when you're talking about "undocumented immigrants". An "undocumented" immigrant is one who's forgotten his or her wallet at home. Illegal aliens are here illegally, and that's a problem. They may be fantastic people; they're still criminals. They're still not paying taxes, but absorbing the benefits of the things tax money is spent on. They're still, by virtue of generally taking whatever jobs they can get, driving wages down and crippling the bargaining power of our unions. They're still driving up housing prices.
Now, Jose the migrant fruit picker doesn't control Washington; it's very much the responsibility of the American political establishment to make immigration laws that actually WORK, and neither party has an interest in doing so. And our current immigration laws truly suck. But they are the laws, and no one has any sort of fundamental right to live where they choose, regardless of the desires of the people who live there. Any practical long-term solution is going to have to involve SOME form of amnesty: maybe let those who're already here illegally come forward and take the citizenship test; maybe set up some kind of community sponsorship program. Maybe something else. But while a person is essentially living like a political leech, it's perfectly reasonable to resent him for it, regardless of his humility.70 Reply
+1 y@Steven8000 and yet they are unable to get into the country legally and contribute to the society. Illegals don't pay taxes for one. Because they are typically paid below minimum wage they do get into criminal acts, such as drug dealing, to help support themselves and their families. It's not like you or any of your brainwashed ignorant leftist friends doing anything to support them because as illegals they don't/can't apply for government assistance.
They many times give a bad reputation to their country peers who get into countries legally and are trying to better themselves. Many of whom due to the regions they come from already face racist ideology, stigma, and difficulty getting jobs without illegals adding to the issues.
Maybe sheltered white boys and girls like you, who know less than nothing about minorities, should move to countries of illegals and see how well you survive. Not very long because those countries are not soft and weak-kneed like the world you're used to.836 Reply- +1 y

It's not bigotry against Latinos to want people to obey the law, and and to punish criminals. I'm not against foreigners immigrating to the United States legally and obeying our laws, and I wouldn't mind changing our IQ tests to be less ridiculous and add loyalty tests. But that's not what you want. You want people to be allowed to come here ILLEGALLY, and using the "racist" Heckler's Veto at anyone who isn't Hispanic and "self-hating" to Hispanics who don't agree with you.
Tell me, are YOU here legally? Your conviction leads me to think you aren't. - +1 y
@BazookaTrouper I was born here. I don't have problem if someone wants all immigrants regardless what race to come legally just as they don't want anyone to come illegally and just as along as they don't dislike someone just for being undocumented. Don't want them mistreated, realize most are good people, etc. The post is that more Americans need to realize most undocumented immigrants are good people.

Look at one guy below how he has met so many undocumented immigrants and knows how most are good people. And I'm a proud Latino. I'm not a coconut. You are an Oreo though. And I'd the process was much not impossible they would do it. In a desperate situation people would even risk their lives but you are clearly uninformed about the process for many people. Just cause some people can come easily doesn't mean others can't. You haven't met enough undocumented. You are talking our of your butt about people you don't know.

We are a country of laws and principles and yet it seems like it's only you guys who want to go and through that away all in the name of hating trump. News flash, NO ONE CARES ABOUT TRUMP, BUT YOU, and it seems your willing to sacrfice minorities and the happniess of other amercians who are affected by your dumb descion making if it means filling out a stupid vendetta. Thanks to people like you and all the illegal immigration in my area - I can't get an entry level job unless I speak Spanish - a language that didn't even originate from here, and yeah you want to talk about "good people", I know some great hard working people; My aunt works two jobs, a combined total of 18 hours a day , and my mom 13 hours shifts AND FOR WHAT!!! Just so YOU and others like you, can give their hard earned money to people who didn't even respect us enough to come here the right way.
You're insane, and if you want them you come here so badly, then how aboout you and you alone pay for their plane tickets, education, food shelter, clothes, English classes, etc. But im tried of seeing people like this who are far too willing to give away the resources of others while being fed a sliver spoon all their life. - +1 y

I don't think you know what every one of tens of millions of people think, although you're arrogant enough to think you do. Even if you're correct about that, that is something they should be ashamed of- thinking that people can't think for themselves and if they do, they're BAD people. Especially in the case of a very diverse group of people, which Hispanics are, there isn't going to be monolithic thought. What you've espoused is racist leftist thinking.
Your misrepresentation of Trump's America-First policies is unsurprising for someone who believes illegals are superior, and anyone who's honest knows it's America First for ALL US citizens (and by implication, legal residents). That's why you fall back on the racist race-baiting I've called you out on. - +1 y
I never said they weren't: I'm saying you would lieterally let people who work there asses off here suffer, if it meant that you're buddies in another country can live rent free here. Yet you care more about people some people far away, who contribut to none of the things you come to take for granted here. - +1 y
@007kingifrit Most Latinos and black people I know demean people of their own group that are self hating regardless if they are light, dark, etc. We do it for their dumb way of thinking of being self hating. Just people would demean a Jew for supporting Hitler. Not because of his/her ethnicity but for them being self hating. And I am Latino. You know Latinos come in all shades right? White, Brown, black, etc. Latinos have different looks. Most Latinos and black people talk smack about self hating people of their groups like Candace Owens, Eric Trumps girlfriend, etc.
- +1 y
Both of my parents are from South America. Latinos come in all shades. White, brown, black, etc. Inform yourself. I don't know why you don't believe I am Latino. You probably think all Latinos have a typical look or something. All the non self hating Latinos and black people I know are embarrassed of the self hating people of our ethnicity. We are embarrassed of Eric Trumps girlfriend and many black people are embarrassed of Candace Owens. We think they are sad cases. At least they don't represent the majority of Latinos and black people. 40 percent of Latinos support Trump while the majority 60 percent don't and laugh at those self hating fools. Same applies to the majority of black people that laugh at the minority of black people there support Trump.
why do some people get to skip the rules and jump over the fence when others are waiting in line after many years of hard work and stress? i'm sure that immigrants who move to a country legally are also hard working and decent people. people should follow the rules.

also, a country only has the capacity to support so many people. if you open up the border and tell the whole world that they can just walk in for a "better life" without any documentation or background checks, chaos would happen pretty quickly. whether it be violence, lack of housing, lack of food, lack of jobs, etc. a country can only support so many people before the "better life" starts to look unattainable.

And some of us are concerned about people flooding into this country untested and without regard for the current pandemic.10 Reply
+1 y@Steven8000 - good people or not reality is they're criminals.
As for hard working & humble you would be too if you are paid minimum wage or less, when you couldn't speak the local language too well, and with the constant threat that your employer or neighbors may call immigration on you.
It is not hard to comprehend why illegals are so. All a person does is use their brain.
.
Now as for people's problems with illegal immigrants.
1) They take the lowest paying jobs, lower than minimum wage even. Companies love this as they can hire 2 or 3 illegals for every local. This in turn costs locals to lose their jobs and drives down not just wages but the economy as a whole.
2) Depending on the region and the mentality mass immigration of illegals doesn't actually increase house prices, it decreases them severely. Or, as above with #1, the lowered economy causes house prices to hit rock bottom.
3) They do not pay taxes or other fees that Americans & legal immigrants do. Do you think money grows from trees? Everything from maintenance of roadways to schools is supported by tax & other moneys that illegals don't contribute.
.
4) They take away from resources that Americans and legal immigrants who are struggling need. Shelters as example. Free or discounted meals. Discounted housing. There are senior citizens who have been on American soil for 7 to 8 decades that receive less care than an illegal who has been on American soil for 7 to 8 days.
5) Because they are illegals they can not get a driver's license nor insurance yet that doesn't mean they don't drive. Similarly if they commit criminal acts it is far, far harder to locate them than a legal American or immigrant.01 Reply- +1 y
Lol. Even the people from the same countries those undocumented immigrants are from, that are legal residents/citizens are humble and hard working people. Same with the ones that know the language. Same applies to the people when you go their country and they never went to another country. Nice job assuming, they are humble because of this or that. It has to do with their culture.
+1 ySure they’re good people, but they are illegal and should come in legally as we need to protect American citizens. There are a lot of notable correlations to crime and borders tagged along with economic ramifications. When our government makes decisions that impact so many people, they have to make these decisions based on data and facts rather than solely emotion. Saying these people are good people is an emotional statement based on anecdotal experience. It doesn’t carry within it any substance when making decisions that impact others on a population scale.
As a Mexican/American I can tell you that I’m for secure borders. While the majority of illegals who come in here are good people, we need to setup a controlled filtered system to keep the bad out. Cartels, coyotes, drug smugglers, and murderers come across the borders too- and more of them will come if we create an more incentive for them to do so. The government should protect American citizens and their own citizenry needs to be their priority. It’s never an effective strategy to light yourself on fire to keep someone else warm.20 Reply- 3.2K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic.
+1 yI don't really care.
I don't like my country being overrun by uninvited foreigners.
We should only let in a small number of immigrants per year.
We should be picky about who we let in... the standards should be high and we should only accept far less then 1 million per year.
Just having the floods gate open and millions to just flow in endlessly... hardly knowing anything about any of them... totally shifting the demographics of the entire country.
Any sane person would be against that.
If they actually loved their country and culture.
Since many hate our own country now I'm not surprised they cheer on the collapse of our culture and fully support a large cluster of the world population to just relocate here.50 Reply

You can not change people's minds when they have hate in their hearts and do not think past what they are told.
We all have the ability to be more knowledgeable but in the end for most ego and entitlement wins.
People constantly everyday do illegal things but yet criticize everyone around them, it's redundant.
Don't try to change their minds if the world wants to grow as people and learn to fight for a better life for all they will, but most are self centered and not really thinking of you, me, or others.
In the end all we can do is live our lives and ignore those who simply speak.
Illegal is a word people take to literally and yet do not live by it's definition or think it applys to them. 🤷
It's all just redundant.02 Reply- +1 y

8K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Whether or not someone is a "good person" is a value judgement, but someone who knowingly enters a country illegally and works there illegally isn't my idea of a "good person". You probably sneak illegally to if you were in a desperate situation too. Getting your life threatened, being hungry, etc. But of course you don't know anything about that
- +1 y
That's a false representation of why they come- they just want to make more money and in many cases they do want a better life for their family, but that is not the responsibility of the US to provide that to everyone (it wouldn't be possible anyway). But they weren't starving where they lived before, and there are other places closer to home they could move to in the rare event that they are really that exposed to violence.
But again, you shouldn't assume anything. My grandfather came to the US 80 years ago with the shirt on his back, his family having been killed and a bounty on his head. - +1 y
No I'm not in the U. S. illegally. So people having compassion, for others mean they must be illegal themselves? My goodness you are ignorant. You probably support people getting sexually harassed, support black people getting shot in the back of the head, etc. The immigration process 80 years ago is different than today and the hardest process is from Mexico and Central America. Once again, if you were in a desperate situation like them you would do the same thing. Most are good people.
I agree completely. I'm a white guy that grew up in south Texas and now live in north Texas and have had LOTS of exposure to undocumented immigrants and adult children of undocumented immigrants. In my experience, they do their best to stay out of trouble, work very hard for their families and would be terrific Americans if they wanted to and we let them. If people would just talk to them, they'd see what I mean.

They exist as a hidden underclass without the protection of the law, or the benefits of citizenship. They also take without paying taxes, and the people who hire them are exploitative and betray the common good of their countrymen.
The solution would be just to give the ones who are here a pathway to legitimate legal residency, and get them to pay taxes and receive at least minimum wage. Meanwhile actually securing the border, and modernizingy the currently broken legal immigration system.
It doesn't matter if they're good people or not, lawlessness can't just be ignored without a cost. We should not be okay with the formation of a semi enslaved underclass.10 Reply

@yucel_eden Considering any of those individuals would need to go through the American education system to recover their profession, they can stay in their home and keep helping people as a doctor, engineer, or lawyer.
You say an Afgani lawyer would be useless to help their country?

How can a woman help when they are banned from doing most things? How did women help in WW1 when the military wouldn't let them levy gunfire at their enemies? They supported the troops who were fighting however they could.

Even in WW1 some women said fuck what the law says and went to war anyways.

Lots of people worldwide migrate through the normal legal channels. It's not easy so it's unfair on those who do things by the book that these people just walz in. Also if they're illegal they can't legally get a job. So they're either earning money by crime or working illegally for low wages beneath minimum wage. This is unfair on legitimate businesses.

Most undocumented people earn money by working under the table jobs. Not drug dealing or anything. Most of them do regular jobs and get paid under minimum wage unfortunately. MOST are good people. That is the point.
8.1K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. I'm sure many are good people, but that's not the issue. The issue is that they are still criminals for crossing over the border without going through the security checkpoint (if they really wanted to become citizens, then I wouldn't mind putting them through the citizenship process in case this was an error). If we just leave our borders wide open, we risk letting people who DO want to cause harm in whether they are spies, wanted violent criminals or people who have covid.
In a perfect world, we wouldn't need a border security. However, given how the US is a major target by many countries such as China and Russia, being this forgiving could be our downfall.10 Reply- 2.2K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic.

Trump introduced a whole element of the illegal immigrants' character and integrity, but that was inappropriate and even inaccurate. It is true that there are many criminals crossing the border illegally, but there are also a lot of otherwise good people.

+1 yHow is it humble to knowingly and brazenly enter another country in defiance of that country's laws? Spare me the sympathy plea.
30 Reply Be less worried about foreigners coming here and more worried about how to end the dystopoian nightmare that the world governments have created. I don't care if 100 thousand illegals came to the U. S. today. It is only an issue to stupid people who let the news tell them how to think. Masks and vaccine poison for a fake virus is what you should fear. Not brown people.

So, then they'll turn it around and say, well, they're democrats. No, actually, they're all likely conservatives,14 Reply- +1 y
Most of the MS13 gang members that are arrested in Long Island aren't from California or New York or Mexico. They're illegal immigrants from El Salvador.

no dude, just, no

You can state "no" all you want. I live in the area. It's fact. Their arrest stories make the local New York City news about once a month.

26 Reply- +1 y
I have known ton my whole life. Most are good people.

I think we can agree on the vetting process then.
- +1 y
Getting or no vetting most undocumented immigrants are good people
- +1 y
@Steven8000 you are missing the point you uneducated little boy. we don't care if they are nice people or not. its not part of the decision making process
- +1 y
@Steven8000 - most are good people, sure, but they don't / won't get decent jobs, don't / won't get decent education, don't / won't learn the predominant language, don't / won't accept decent wages, don't / won't do anything to the norm of American society... They all in all damage the economy because big companies don't have to pay locals for work when they can hire 2 or 3 illegals for every local. This forces wages to decrease, costs jobs for locals, forces people to move, etc.

@FoghornLeghorn99 most Trumpsters are assholes. You get to know them and realize how most of them are. Most are bigots, xenophobes, selfish, etc. but most illegal immigrants after you meet a ton, you see how most are good people. Big difference.
- +1 y
@Steven8000 How old are you? 12?

@FoghornLeghorn99 29. Turn 30 tomorrow. I have known a lot of Trump supporters and I have known tons of undocumented immigrants longer than that. Most Trumpsters are assholes while most undocumented are good people.

You really think Americans are down to build those streets, buildings, etc? I’ve never met an equally hard working American.
- +1 y
Criminals that you don't mind hiring. They aren't criminals at all. Most are good people.
- +1 y
@Steven8000 if they came illegally they are a criminal.
What's a criminal? Someone who does illegal shit. - +1 y
Comparing Hitler, a murderer, etc to people desperately coming for a better life is dumb. Just because someone does illegal stuff, it doesn't mean they are a bad person. It depends what type of bad stuff it is. The people calling out illegality are the same people who have done drugs, drank underage, etc. which is illegal. Also did speeding on the freeway, etc. I guess they are bad people too (sarcasm)
- +1 y
Actually xourargiment is dumb- „they’re good people because I say they are“. Entering a foreign country and working there illegally is not something a good person does. And are you saying none of the illegals use drugs, speed when driving, it drink underage?
But since you’ve brought up driving, another thing your saintly illegals do a lot is drive without a license and insurance- that’s not only illegal, it causes real damage.
Are you yourself illegal? - +1 y
- +1 y
Look at one guys post below. He has grown up in Texas and has been around tons of undocumented. He has TALKED and GOT TO KNOW so many. He says most are good people. You and your friend here haven't met so many and haven't met tons. Until you do, you are talking out of your butt.
- +1 y
LMAO, you know someone's background and character just because you talk to them?
And for your information, while I don't ask people for their immigration status when I meet them, I have had contact with plenty of illegals. I used to ride a bus to work that was filled with them, lived in a neighborhood that had a bunch of them, and I also helped a bunch of them in a matter I won't discuss here, which is why I know they aren't the angels you make them out to be. - +1 y
I'm not illegal. Good job being racist.
- +1 y
@Avicenna They are family friends, etc I have worked with them, etc. I have known so many of them very well. And you probably confuse Latinos born here with Latino foreigners. Typical of Trump supporters. Most Latino immigrants regardless if they are legal or illegal are good people. Same applies to other immigrants of other races.
- +1 y
You continue to show how stupid and racist you are. Of course you like friends of your family- that doesn't mean they are good people or that others who are in the US illegally are just because you think your family friends are.
To show how dumb you are, I have Hispanic relatives who are both US-born (including my father) and foreign-born ones. Stop making racist assumptions- you're just embarrassing yourself further. Trump won around 38% of the Hispanic vote, meaning there are a lot of people who don't share your backward and racist views. - +1 y
- +1 y
LOL, you're a racist fool. 38% self-hating? No one in their right mind would believe that, and they'd tell you themselves they're proud to be Hispanic. And what have the Democrats ever done for Hispanics? Opening borders to let illegal invaders come in and depress wages isn't doing something for Hispanics.
- +1 y
@Steven8000 its so pathetic your only defence is "but they're nice"
nice isn't a worldview boy "Just be kind" is not a worldview ↗ - +1 y
@007kingifrit: And apparently just nice to him.

- +1 y
I don’t care how nice you think someone is- it’s disrespectful to a country and causes great harm when a lot of people enter illegally and work illegally there, especially if they get tax money and charity that should be going to the poor who are here legally.
And I’ve been a (legal) immigrant myself. - +1 y
@Steven8000 you aren't responding to any of my arguments. is it because you fear how right i am? of course it is white boy

@Steven8000 my father in law immigrated the right way from Mexico, he is a good man. I have met plenty of illegal and undocumented workers that were good people. I have worked beside them in kitchens all over the States. I still believe illegal immigrants are a bad thing for our country. And not due to any propaganda or political stance. Its just economically unviable.
My family immigrated to the United States legally from the Netherlands. Took six years for my grandfather to save up enough to make the journey.
My father in law was born in Mexico, hates Trump, votes Democrat. He saw the economic implications that illegal immigrants have on a country, with his first hand knowledge of the problem in southern Mexico with the Honduran wave that hit in the 70s and 80s.
Let me ask you this, what do you think illegally entering the country benefits the United States as a whole? How did it benefit Mexico in the 80s? What are you willing to change to make the fundamental issues associated with illegal immigration not be felt nationwide? - +1 y
The point is people need to realize most are good people.
