Do liberals really think that America no longer accept way more immigrants than any other nation?

I was debating with a liberal and he said something to make America sound bad like liberals do and I said "That's why America has way more people moving to it than any other country" and he was like "yeah maybe 100 years ago"

No. Today. In 2021. This vision of America as a land of freedom and opportunity still exists in authoritarian countries. You'll still hear people from places like Cuba and Venezuela talk about how much safer they are and how they never imagined having the ability to criticize the government without fear of repercussions.

Liberals are so stupid if they think this is some by gone era and nowadays everybody hates America as much as they do.

You are right. In all honesty, there's only two negatives with America. The corrupt politicians and the greedy corporate elitists who think they should run society. And both of those entities largely support illegal immigration.

Being an immigrant in South Korea, I support legal immigration too, as those tend to be a better class of people as well. But illegal immigration is horrendously bad, and the fact the far-left supports it (as well as BLM and other law breakers) shows just how little they care for the United States, or whatever country they happen to be from. Illegal immigrants and those who just rush their way across a border usually do not respect a country, and do not assimilate. And that's not just limited to the US; Europe has its own issues with migrant who rape and murder, and get away with it because "punishing rapists and murderers who aren't white is racist."

I can't even tell whether the US' politicians are worse about this, or Europe's.

The USA does not take in that many immigrants. The US historically has taken in many immigrants, but its immigration policies are more restrictive when compared to similarly developed countries.

You posted a graphic that shows immigrants as a percentage of the total population. The United States being unlike every other planet in this regard, should be the leader for a number of decades. Well, depending on your definition of the term immigrant. Almost everyone here has family that immigrated to this nation. It just depends on how far back you wish to go.

As for the "liberal's" point, it isn't a liberal point. It is a fact that fewer and fewer folks immigrate to the United States. The trend has been decreasing at the rate of 3% for a while now. Why you or she have attached some type of morality to the discussion is beyond me. Maybe it isn't a good or bad thing.

Also, when it comes to per capita stats, of course other nations take in more immigrants. Almost every nation in Europe does, for instance. Canada, South Korea, Chile, Turkey, etc.

The US is not just made up of Liberals and Conservatives, there is likely a large portion who's thinking falls between these two extremes (Centerist), but in the US people are basically forced to vote for one extreme or the other. Extreme Liberals are probably less than 17% of the population.

As for immigration, the US has always been an open door Country, its citizens have links to almost every other Country in the world. I think any person bitching about the US immigration levels being low needs their head examined.

Accepting more immigrants is not the solution, making their native Countries more attractive to stay in is the solution.

That's labor migration. Those guest workers have no chance at citizenship, even if they live in the Gulf States a long time, and they don't enjoy anywhere near what immigrants to the US do.

That statistic about the percentage of the population that is immigrant vs foreign born. It's not about accepting immigrants or even about how many immigrants are let into each country.
All it proves is that American has a lot of immigrants.
