And if you are going to listen to a woman tell you how to be a man, then you have already lost. It is the weirdest thing in the world to listen to a male state that there isn't a such thing as a masculine trait. And it happened time and again when I tried to have a discussion about it here.

Isn't it more freeing though? Having less made up expectations leaves you with yourself and who you are. Sure you can't hide and shirk personal responsibility with masculinity or femininity. It's just what you do, what you did and it's who you are as an individual at any given moment.

You can do masculine things but it's not masculine "thing". It's you and your actions being yourself. If you continuously get criticism from your actions, it's not criticism on masculinity but just a criticism on you and your own actions.

On the flip side if you get complicated it's not your masculinity expectations but it's for you being yourself. This is why i say there's more freedom breaking down expectations.
