I was a standard, Constitution-loving, Freedom-for-all Liberal Democrat, up until late 2015 or so, when the media started attack Donald Trump, and by proxy, ALL conservatives and centrists in a very childish and immature manner. During the 2016 Presidential Election, I seriously disliked both candidates and very reluctantly went with Donald Trump. And he won. By 2017, the Left had gotten so bad, bullyish, childish, immature, and outright "evil," I left the Left entirely.

Today, I'm a Centrist/Independent. I still believe in all the same values as free speech, free expression, and what the US Constitution stands for, but the left no longer believes in any of that. I'd say I'm 55% classical liberal, 45% conservative. I'm pro-choice, but also pro-guns and pro-capital punishment, and still believe in freedom-for-all.

So are you formerly Left-leaning, but have "left the Left?"

I'm keeping anonymous on for this just so people afraid to admit this can also comment. But I'm just going to flag the trolls and rude people, as that contributes nothing to the conversation. (No, it's not censorship to block trolls and pointless insults.)

I did i was on here beefing with hella right wing people before cause a lot of racist flocked to that side but had i got into a better life style and a good career and live super nice in Cali i started noticing that the Republicans in Cali, had better sense then these weirdo leftist, so it was bigger then color.

Why are towns such shit holes ran by the left but when ran by the right the town is a regular thriving place. Then i started noticing the crazy policy's the left were trying to enforce and the whole genderless bathroom debate and so much more i slowly started to hate liberal cry babies. I hated Trump when he first came out but gas prices were so much cheaper food prices were ok, he was slowly pulling troops from Afghanistan and trying to make America a better place for Americans despite the dumb things he did say, his interest was towards Americans only.

I use to be a Democrat when i was broke and had nothing and then i switched to being a independent but i do lean right because when they talk they make sense, the left is a circus & i started noticing this when i became a productive person making money in society and leveling up.

So I was more of a centrist I voted for Obama in 2012 (I wasn’t legally able to vote in 2008 I was 16 by the time I came to Election Day but I supported Obama I did support bush as well). In 2016 I figured it would be fun to have trump has president and didn’t care for Hillary. By 2020 I was full blown conservatives with a few exceptions like a legal weed supporter and protecting the environment and not really caring about gay marriage (mg rule to this day is don’t slap my ass if your a dude beyond that don’t care) but since the democrats party has gone so far left I can’t support them. I still agree with legal weed protection of the environment and idc if a gay couple wants to be together but my views on taxes and limited government and protecting the rights of freedom of right to own a firearm has forced me to the right because the far left has allied me so I went to the neocon and am staunch conservative at this post

You know what was really cool when I was 24? Apolitical, and having convos with what I didn't know at the time were libtards. They bashed me, know what they say? YOU HAVE TO VOTE. I'm like what? They said "IT"S IMPORTANT." Basically telling me it's my civic duty. That was the DAY. Being apolitical and not giving a rats ass, I told them where to stick it. To find out later, I'm anti everything they stand for. So, I'd have been doing them a disservice going against their rhetoric. Now, it's different, and I'm so proud of you for being a former libtard and getting it right in this day and age.

I was never a democrat nor a liberal. I was apolitical until I was falsely accused in college by a girl I liked and wanted to see where things would go with in the correct way. After that experience, I found that the republicans were for innocent until proven guilty while the liberal dems are for guilty until proven innocent. I'm in the whole voting thing as an independent, but I highly doubt I'll EVER vote democrat. The first time I ever voted for president, I proudly voted for Donald Trump.

I was never left-leaning. In college, many of our projects in Communications and Graphic Design were defined in such a way that the result would- of necessity and definition- be left of center. My mother used to be Democrat from a Dem family in a (very) Dem town, but, she in 1964 she had a revelation and became Conservative.
