Main purpose is because many people get stuck on the income tax portion and ignore the rest, so they think they really only pay 10 to 20% in taxes, when in reality it is double that. Perhaps if more people knew how much they were paying (this is in the US though) they would demand better accountability and lower taxes.
I did get a tax cut under Trumps tax reforms, so yeah... I also focus on the local level a lot to lower taxes, we fought a tax hike from the county and won, we fought it from the city and won.
54.7 for some recipes? Damn! Really though that's about as serious as me believing you give over more than even 30 percent (Which is still some bullshit) in total tax! Personally 18% combined Federal, State and Local. Sales tax of 8, but I'm a cheap bastard so that variable remains low.
I don't care if you believe me or not, I tediously enter it all in the computer, I have a entire category called TAXES with sub categories for everything from income taxes, sales taxes, fuel tax, property taxes, even vehicle registration fees, all goes into the tax category.
Then I can run reports, to compare my annual Gross income to net income and do charts, pie charts, bar charts, whatever to show what goes to the Tax category and all sub categories and see percentage breakdowns.
With Sales tax, income tax and the FICA tax I'm easily around 30% and that is before property taxes, fuel taxes, and all the various taxes called fees.
If it went to a government agency required by law, it is in the Tax subcategory.
Here is the kicker though, if I make more money my tax percentage will actually drop over all. As income tax may go up as a percentage but the other stuff will go down as a percentage.
The government thrives off people who don't know how much they actually take, and try to focus strictly on income taxes while ignoring all the others required by law because they are harder to track. This is every government agency from federal all the way down to city and county levels.
Of course I'm combining them all, that is how I know what I pay. If I buy a million dollars of stuff a year and I pay 100k in taxes, that is still 10% on sales tax and should be added up with all the other spending taxes, fuel taxes, etc... why should it not be included? (These are not real numbers for me)
It is really very simple math, Gross pay - anything that goes to a government entity then get the percentage between the two.
Try it for a year or so, track every last penny. If it goes to a government entity, then take your total tax and subtract it from your gross pay to get your actual percentage. It will take dedication though, require all recipes and lots of time and attention to detail.
Unless you don't think that taxes you pay when you spend something is not a tax, some people don't think of those as taxes.
Yes it is simple math, 26%! Lol right on for including recipes again :) I'd also like to add that it's still shitty to give at least a quarter and maybe get 7 cents back on the dollar after filing.
The fact that this is most likely true pisses me off. Something like a sales tax taxes the poor way more than it does than those that actually can afford it. Yet the rich get tax breaks while we shell out quite a bit more in comparison. Probably one of the only things I agree with progressives about, but I still notice them taking their tax breaks for themselves.

In US its like 20% on wages. I'm sure it goes up with higher incomes but I never had that luxury
None of it. I don't pay taxes, because I don't have an income.
I just use turbotax i know they been robbing us but im not gonna get whacked proving it lol
why bother tracking all this?
surly the main thing to do is reduce your tax bill as much as you can ie set up business put as much through that and also vat reg

@Aerissa_Jade
have you demanded better accountability and lower taxes?
have you managed to reduce you tax rate at all

You are combining separate taxes to create an unrealistic percentage. Sounds like me saying it's not what you make, but what you spend.

And what is the value of the goods and services which you are provided with by the government?
Not nearly enough for what I am paying in, I figure 20% would be worth what I'm getting out of the government.
Yes, and it makes me sick
$1400 too much I guess
I don't know but I believe 50% or possibly more.
I paid 20 percent last year more than billionaires

Self employed. So double most.
I pay about 42 % in taxes.
Way too fucking much, I can tell you that.
No I don't but it's certainly too much imao
No and I don't really care to know
That's beyond taxation, it simply theft.
22%... on average.
I’m self-employed
Too much
About 30 % ?
Thanks for like!
