Women weren't oppressed. You just think they were oppressed because society and people/families had different a dynamic back then and probably seems alien to younger generations today. Spools of feminist propaganda has spun lots of fallacies as well. There are women who lived back then and are still alive who'll roll their eyes and say 'why, 'cuz we had to stay home with the kids? My husband painted houses in some crappy neighborhoods when he wasn't carrying blocks of ice to upstairs apartments. I think I got the better end of the deal." If anyone should be bitter for 'decades of oppression' it'd be those women. Not someone who can barely get into bars, if that is your true age.

Women say they have more problems - everything from being victims of violence and harassment to biological differences exclusive to them no one can do anything about or has any fault in. Yet I seldom find any who can name three mens' issues (that men actually consider issues and not manufactured issues imagined by women).

And nothing says "I will love and trust you forever" like the presentation of a prenup. Yes, divorce was rare and was actually hard to achieve, and at first to all but wealthy families prenups were barely known (and were more used by the wife's family if it was wealthy, not the husband's).
