when my wife's grandmother died everyone swooped in and grabbed everything that was worth anything. She had an old piano that nobody wanted. It had a cast iron frame and weighed a ton. My wife had lots of memories playing this as a kid so we ended up with it. My wife wanted ot have it tuned and repaired. The piano tuner offered her 15 thousand dollars for it. It is a rare antique. When my wife told the story at a family function, everyone who passed on it was really pissed. It was really funny.

Iām not a Democrat, just a casual, uninvolved observer, butā¦I donāt think Biden is as bad as heās being painted to be. This whole thing is about Trump: you either like Biden because heās not Trump, or you hate Biden because heās not Trump, seemingly.
Even as someone politically abstinent, Iād have to say that, character-wise, Trump
is the worst person to ever hold the office of President. Iām not here to argue over economic policies, because prosperity is not my concern in a society, only decency. Iād rather live in a shack amongst people with good hearts than live in a mansion around people with hateful, exclusionary, and paranoid hearts. I hear almost exclusively right wing media, and this constant barrage of āeverything bad that happens is directly Bidenās fault!ā is just tiresome and lame. āEverything is Bidenās fault!ā is the new āEverything Trump does is racist!ā Like when I hear the things Biden gets blamed for, most of it either isnāt solely, or in some cases, AT ALL, his fault. Right wing media has you all so gassed up on the wrong stuff. Everything I hear from people is exactly, to a word, usually, the same thing that was said by the Tucker Carlsons and Sean Hannitys of the world, itās not even like itās original thought, you literally have it taught to you at FoxNews Academy every day and every night.
I donāt know, I used to believe conservatives were just about fiscal responsibility and family values, but theyāve just abandoned that and seem obsessed with making life hard for certain people, or at least, not very concerned with making it any easier for them. And of course, so much of that is rooted in hate and ignorance and exclusionary attitudes, and while you canāt say that out loud, never fear, because your same demagogues and their friendly press while spin that story to make seem as if you ARENāT the asshole, and even the HERO, for holding and exercising these terrible attitudes. That doesnāt have to mean every single conservative down to a person, but thereās plenty of them who fit that bill. I mean, bottom line, on a soul level, which is all that we should concern ourself with: inclusion and acceptance = good, exclusion and persecution = bad, pretty universally, with the obvious exception of counter-exclusion and counter-persecution of the people holding and exercising these terrible ideals. Iām astounded that we canāt agree on this as humans.
So, for Bidenā¦. every country in the world is dealing with the exact same inflation problems and gas prices. If Biden is the worst POTUS of all time, than every other world leader right now is too, if thatās the standard. All these things heās blamed for, almost none of these things are directly his fault, unless of course you WANT IT TO BE, then the appropriate mental gymnastics can be performed to arrive at that conclusion. Just donāt listen to what FoxNews tells you about Biden, holy fuck, talk about being blinded by agenda. The Keystone Pipeline -contrary to popular belief- was not shut down, it was never built. If it was built, it wouldāve created in the neighborhood of FIFTY jobs ā thatās 5-0, just two digitsā and only transports oil, it does not produce it. Your problem, despite what youāve been taught, is with greedy oil companies who donāt need to charge this money, but they do. They could be pumping domestic oil, but they wonāt, because that fixes the āsupplyā problem and meets the ādemandā, causing prices to fall, which is terrible news for themā¦and thatās an exaggeration, theyāll still be wildly rich while you decide between dinner or a tank of gas.
The entire Afghanistan exit, while certainly not as clean as you want, I canāt for the life of me call that Bidenās fault, at worst, his military advisors miscalculated things. But a suicide bomber is no oneās fault. When Trump tells us āit is what it isā when asked about SO MANY MORE people dying from Covid, itās hard to take it seriously when the same people get fired up about 13 soldiers being killed. No disrespect to anyone, but the military sign up to maybe die in the line of duty. It doesnāt make it not sad, but it does make it not āweirdā or āunexpectedā when those things happen. If you leave America to go to a hostile country, you might not come back, and you should know that when you step on the plane. That falls under āpersonal responsibility.ā
And to be fair, I read the Build Back Better Act and the infrastructure bill start-to-finish, and I thought it was EXCELLENT. But of course, the Republicans purposely blocked it from happening, CLEARLY in partisan bad faith, not on the merit of the plan. And mark the date and my words, I PROMISE you, somewhere during the midterms or next presidential election, theyāll lean into this āBiden has done NOTHING!ā narrative theyāre clearly trying to build.
Iām running long here, I have to quit, haha. But the brass tacks of all of this is that presidents donāt have anywhere near the impact and control weāre giving them credit for. If I had a problem with Trump, itās more about the hateful attitudes his words inspire in people than his actual actions. I just donāt like the effect he has on a lot of Americans, what he makes them think is acceptable. I donāt feel like I did. Iām not a Democrat-of-GAG, so I canāt speak for them. I stated my opinion on the current situation as best as I can from my unaffiliated perspective.
If you want me to venture a guess, itās along the lines of what I said about liking Biden more because heās not Trump. It doesnāt shock me one bit when someone finds Trump to be very distasteful, and this past election was more āTrump or literally anybody differentā than weāve ever seen in this country. It was more of a question of moral values and who we want the figurehead of our country representing us on a global stage to be. I donāt know a ton of people who were fired up about Biden. Heās a glass of plain milk. Most folks I know liked Bernie Sanders or Trump, Biden wasnāt really the desired candidate, but I think the Democrats were afraid to run Sanders because they feared losing the moderate vote, and again, this whole 2020 election was about removing a bad guy from office, rather than putting a good guy in. Biden is a placeholder. Honestly, thatās kind of whatās ridiculous about right wing attacks on him, he doesnāt really do anything terrible unless you misconstrue something to seem as though he did. The left didnāt give Trump any courtesy or respect, that pissed off the right, and now that the power has shifted, I feel like the right isnāt looking to take the high road, they just want to retaliate. I get what you're TRYING to say, but I mostly disagree. While the president really doesn't have much power yeah, he's still the mascot and default representative of the United States. If Trump could hypothetically make America look crazy, boorish, and obnoxious, then Biden is doing far worse by making America look extremely incompetent, buffoonish, senile, and a pant-sh*tter who shakes hands with thin air.
If the president is the default mascot of America, then I'd rather have a jerk who gets sh*t done and keeps China in check as the face of America, then a jerk who should be in a retirement home and literally never says anything incompetent or meaningful in front of the camera.
I'm not right-leaning, conservative, or on Trump's nuts (hell, I wanted Tulsi Gabbard to really win in 2020, even if I still voted for Trump), but I think anyone who's not being disingenuous can admit that Trump's administration was objectively better for America than Biden's administration, who we don't even know who's in charge.
