+1 yIn what grounds do you believe this? And let’s be honest do you really think either side could get away with pushing a candidate that wants to take rights from just one gender? It would be political suicide exceeding even Biden’s administration.
It’s kinda sad because I like the idea of taking woman's rights. Rights are only available because we live in a society that pushes them. Part of being in society is making sacrifices for society. Women having children and building families and men building, maintaining, defending society. I know it’s not proper to expect gender roles but without society we don’t have the running water and electricity keeping our lives going. Men are still working to build society and doing the lions share. I can point this out further if you want but the point is women have to do their part too. Too many are refusing to have families and get rights that men have to die for. For example in order to vote men have to sign up for selective services but women do not and automatically get this right.
Women are not expected to fight and die for the right to vote. Women are given special treatment in courts especially family court. If we really wanna discuss equality we need to talk about taking away the privilege that women get for being women at the same time.00 Reply

+1 yI'm gonna assume you're merely stupid, not trolling:
I'm personally pro-abortion because I believe far too many people are breeding, and it's largely the stupid (brown/ black) people. Thus, I'm in favor of abortion: free, and even forced at times.
However, the conservative argument is that the state has an interest in life (it's the reason you can't just murder someone, the state will punish you), and should protect people. They see abortion as the killing of a person, albeit not fully developed. This is the objective- it's not "taking away women's rights."
So, it can be reasonably argued that when Roe is overturned Republicans may seek to further outlaw other actions that kill people, even if it's done out of mercy- except in the case of the death penalty- maybe this is a contradiction, I don't think about it much.
The 14th amendment, and the civil rights act makes unlawful any action by the state, states, and/or companies that discriminates against one sex (in work, etc.). The 19th Amendment protects voting based on sex. These are actual amendments, not supreme court cases (e. g. Roe v. Wade), which are only part of the "law of the land" due to the Federal Supremacy Clause, and the doctrine of Stare decisis (following precedent).

@Jamesshinobi Raise that to a couple million then we're talking.
+1 yOh they absolutely are. GOP Has been on a rampage trying to take rights away from everyone who's not a str8 white male. Is it cus fascism? Maybe. Their actions and use of exculpatory redoric are suspiciously alike to the nazi party before WW2 soooo :/

That Gender Studies class surely messed you up, miss. Within three lines you managed to use a $3 word, invoke fascism/ Nazis, and point to the ultimate enemy- straight white males. This seems strangely akin to anti-Jewish rhetoric (blaming every social ill on the Jew) of 1930's Germany, but I digress.
Question: do you honestly believe the party/ movement pushing supremacy (BLM), euthanizing undesirables (i. e. babies/ fetuses), beating up their political enemies/ burning down cities, while chopping the breasts and genitals off children are the good guys in this hypothetical analogy of pre-WW2? Really? You shrill, butch feminists, and shemale allies are the ones who will storm the beaches of Normandy, eh? - +1 y
Dude, I'm not gonna tell you that you have no idea what's going on. I'm not gonna tell you that your take holds so validity.
All I'm gonna say is--for your own sake--go on a vacation. Travel to another country and see the world outside your yard. Idc if you already travel, do it more. - +1 y
Democrats have been on rampage cheating to stay in power. Using governors to rewrite election laws that legislators are supposed to make. Using liberal judges to make illegal votes legal
Anonymous(36-45)+1 yI don’t know about that but some of super religious candidates have implied that they want to take away the right to birth control, they are the ones with extreme ideals I would think the mainstream republicans would know better.
02 Reply- +1 y
I haven't heard a mainstream candidate push that, but then again the mainstream Republicans are simply the Democrats from 4-8 years ago. Question: is it, or is it no in the States (or country's) interest to promote a strategy to raise our birthrate to replacement levels (as it's been below since the advent of birth control)? Let's move beyond the modern conception of family planning- do you think a country can long survive when their women are not having children, and the only way their economy is still functioning is because they're importing millions of outsiders?
Opinion Owner+1 yWell, I also think we have to look at the reasons some people even married couples are delaying having children or even having fewer children. The cost of raising a family continues to grow, so much so that now two parents are having to support a household more often than just one. I grew up in household where my father worked, my mother stayed home and despite the fact that he was an average earner with a decent job we still lived paycheck to paycheck. So they stopped at two children because that is what they could reasonably afford. I can't imagine how much tougher it would be now.

You're too stupid to understand it's all about states rights, and that states will set their own abortion policies without any federal intervention as they did in the past. Roe vs wade was an illegal power grab by the central government. They had no authority to do that. They committed an illegal action, and thus a wrong is being reversed. States can still choose to keep abortion as a legally acceptable practice if that is what the voters of the state choose. That's how democracy works. An authoritarian extremist like you can't seem to grasp that simple fact though.
11 Reply1.6K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. What about the father's rights, or the rights of the kid?
Do you know that democrats proposed abortion up to 6 days AFTER birth? They just want to kill kids.
Plus now, the supreme court needs to overturn it even more after justice Kavanaugh's life was threatened over it. If they cave at this point it will encourage violence against them whenever they disagree with what democrats want. Then the supreme court would lose its validity.01 Reply
Asker+1 yThe Supreme Court just wants to force their values onto America. This is no different than Saudi Arabia banning the sale and consumption of alcohol for religious reasons.
5.7K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. 100%. Abortion rights wasn't a nation wide topic untill 1965. one year after the Civil rights bill.
"We can't be openly racist to people anymore lets brutalized women again like the 1910s."
Without a scapegoat as a tool to fear monger about, the republican party has no real political values. Everything is a fear reactionary response Without any growing potential.00 Reply
Anonymous(25-29)+1 yThey have no reason to do that.
My theory on why all that was the case in the past was that the amount of women in a society still determined that society's future and the less likely that the woman is going to get killed the better so the man she is paired up with takes up all of the responsibility to keep her safe as he always did, and the men were happy to take that role.
Nowadays, the threat to women has been drastically reduced. No rival tribes, wild animal attacks are nowhere near as common and I think women outnumber men in sheer numbers, last I checked anyway.
In short, I think the reason we had all of those restrictions on women is because we were transitioning to a safer society for them and when that happens those restrictions will get lifted as time went on.
So I'm not sure why they would be doing that.00 Reply
+1 yNo. Republicans dont take away rights from people. Abortion isn't a right for one and they aren't takimg it away from people, they are giving it back. roe v wade takes it out of the peoples hands and unconstitutionally gave it to the Federal Government. with roe v wade gone the decision goes to the state and the people. If you want to kill unborn banies then all you have to do is vote and live in a state that mostly agrees with you. its really that simple.

Asker+1 yYou know a lot of people can’t afford to leave states right? Also should we let states decide on things like segregation since you know damn well that the south would bring back segregation if given the opportunity to.
- +1 y
yes we should leave things like segregation to the states. that is what the constitution allows. i also know damn well that the south will do no such thing. im a Yankee raised in Philadelphia PA living the last 8 years in the south. a place i am certain youve never been. this place is more diverse, less racist, and nothing like what the TV tells you it is. you sound like a bigoted liberal.

+1 yRoe v Wade is not taking away anyone's rights. The decision is simply one for the STATES to make: Roe v Wade never should have gotten to the SCOTUS in the first place. Even the plaintiff said she was coerced into pursuing the court action.
