I was having a conversation with an English girl on Twitter about politics and the sad state The US and UK is in.
she has no reason to lie so I believe her but it just seems so unlikely I would happen to meet someone like that randomly.

I think not. Landed gentry is a term but not so far as I know Landed Lords. If her father is a Lord he has to be a type of lord. An Earl, a Marquess, a Duke, a Baron. And why can't her Lord father grant relief to his tenants? Noblese Obligue.
Butter does not seen anything like her quoted price. Google
Her father probably just went on something like EstablishedTitles.com ... Which is a total scam, by the way.
Lords and ladies are pretty common but her writing style suggests she's full of bullshit. They tend not to advertise the fact as blatantly as she does.
As for £9 for butter it's currently between £2.00 to £2.50 for most brands so hardly a luxury item
It's a long time since I bought butter. That stuff will kill you!
I assume she means the usual 250g packs everyone buys. Even the posh stuff isn't that expensive
It has been in the UK media about Lurpack being sold at £9. The conversion of £9 to $20 is nonsense
I've just read the article. It's for a large tub of spreadable butter at sainsburys which is an expensive supermarket anyway. To be honest lurpack is crap anyway, there's plenty of other brands that taste better
"Posh butter."
What. The f*ck. That's the most British sh*t I've ever heard!

Lurpak is a mass produced Danish butter that got its good reputation through marketing rather than quality.
Sound fake In France they was the same things and it was a girl who stole money from people and became rich this ways.
Maybe but she hasn’t attempted to scam me yet.
There was actually an English guy a while ago who claimed to “come from money” who offered me money because of the bad economy in America.
I turned it down because I personally am doing pretty well.
I’ll be careful not to be scammed but I like to believe she is honest.

I'm no expert on the UK, but it's my understanding that there are thousands of landed lords, so it's very possible she's the daughter of one.
Maybe @purplepoppy can provide more detailed info.
It’s rare but certainly possible you met one
Impossible to tell without meeting her. If she talks with a plummy accent and parades around in expensive designer clothes she's probably legit.
I know two people whose ancestors came over on the Mayflower so I guess anything is possible.
She probably going to scam you, kiddo.
Seems a bit too interested to fill you with information to trust her.
I know a woman who claims to be French Royalty. The French haven’t recognized their royalty since 1789, we don’t have royalty and she’s a flight attendant. I wish her highness would lose the attitude and give me plenty of ice in my Diet Coke!
Them prices on butter are absolutely shit and made up lol
I'd be sceptical. Could be true but could also be a pack of lies.
She thinks £9 will get you $20? Is she from the 1980s? Diapers? Fake!
No one talks like that. That is such a boastful and snobby thing to say, and English people don't usually boast.
God, you are so naiive.
Sure she is.
And I am the Queen of England
No but, who landed him?
She sounds nuts but so what?
Ask her to prove it.
Good point.
possible
