Does California have a stronger Republican Party than New York?

The Republican Party is a joke here and the party has no power in my state. The GOP is not properly funded especially after Trump. It is like a third party that nobody votes for like the Green Party.

Probably, yeah. California has a lot more isolated/rural area, which is necissary for any GOP message to stick. Indeed, Arnold Schwarzenegger won the governor seat as a Republican, so there must be something going on there.

I don't think California has a very strong GOP. Both states try to push Tea Party Conservatives and federalists types like Zeldin, and Elder, instead of just having 'Rhinos' as (Republicans would call them) like Charlie Baker, and Phil Scott.

Well, they know they are outnumbered. California has like 3 huge cities and 50 large ones, which is nuts for one state. And of course New York has NYC. It's pretty much impossible for a message pushing anyone to be asocial to come off as practical to people who share walls with strangers. At the end of the day their peace of mind depends on their ability to cooperate and so the republican message of rugged individualism just can't make any sense. So, having no real path to power, republicans in these states are free to be as fringe as they wish. It's sad that we keep shrinking our number of swing districts. I used to like moderate republicans..

Not even moderates I am talking about in New England republicans will be these pro cannabis, pro choice type of progressives but in California and NY you still get the Republicans you would see in the South.

I am assuming the state picks confederates to run because the stigma is so high especially post-Trump.
