I don't have time to go into detail at the moment. The unemployment rate is very deceiving. Like most stats it has meaning only when in context, and when viewed over time. There are a lot of factors, the first of which is to understand just what the employment rate is in the first place.

In short, the unemployment rate is not the unemployment rate.

The fact remains, all else being equal the cost of products and services increase with the strength of the economy. For decades now capitalists has searched far and wide for countries willing to work for the lowest costs and sell their resources for the cheapest price. They do not find these in USA, Switzerland or Germany. They find it in economically underdeveloped countries like China used to be or Vietnam.
