I was born and grew up my whole life in Australia and I have never been to an overseas country before. Do you think it’s bad I scored 85 percent on an English test?

I think for a person who speaks English as a second language a score of 85 percent would have been great.

I’m a native English speaker I was expecting to score a bit higher than 85 percent

Not necessarily. You can be a native English speaker, and know how to speak English well, but writing it and having to remember a variety of grammar rules is much more difficult. Especially because spoken English differs greatly from written English
