I need all the possible reasons of it. It's Southern California that is the worst part. I can't just move because I am living with someone. I never seen so many homeless on the street. California is just as racist as any other place. They try to say oh they are so liberal. Then the gays attack you out here. It's such an exhausting state to live in. Everyone has to watch what someone is wearing or how they look. There's no privacy or freedom out here either. If you try to make friends you can just forget it. All people do out here for fun is get wasted. Every single time one of my "friends" had a birthday the place they would ALWAYS CHOOSE IS THE CLUB. It's so annoying that's all they ever know as "fun". It's not immature to still like amusement parks or adventurous stuff. I don't know if this is a female thing with the women out here or what. People literally think they are all that because they own some stupid fancy car. Like it's a car dude! The main purpose of it is to drive. People don't mind their business out here either. A lot of people in this state at immature. They do things like racing on the road or messing with a random person in public. I guess this state is just too laid back and shallow. All the cities are too close together. You go to one city and it's run down and then go to another and it's extremely stuck up. You go to another city and it's racist. Like it drives me insane. It's like you go to 6 different cities and deal with the different lines off attitudes of people. It's like a psychotic funhouse. People are overly wild out here too. Everywhere you got the tik tok boys blasting music from their cars and then you have the kardashian clone women acting like they are God's greatest gift. I think that is why most people out there are actually insane. Living around this constant craziness and different city type people is enough to make you lose your mind. I can see why homeless out here are more insane and people come out here thinking it's so
Yeah, I'm liberal but I wouldn't want to live out there. I almost lived near Palo Alto for a Tesla job, but the plan was I was going to stick it out for a year and see if it's something I could maintain. Otherwise, I would prefer the Pacific Northwest or Colorado.
And then with SoCal, you have Hollywood and its influences. So I could imagine there's a ton of superficiality and media obsession.
I can't say much on the racism. But a bigger city is generally going to have more stark racial tensions. Especially in a state as diverse as California. A larger city is slower to grow out of its history of redlining, cycles of poverty, and racial geographic separation.
But yeah, it really doesn't matter which party is in power. If it is one party rule for an extended period of time, this pretty much always leads to corruption.
It's kinda why I don't mind being liberal in a mostly-red state, in a liberal city, in a somewhat conservative part of the city. I actually live in one of the most diverse areas of my state, so there's a lot more racial intermingling which I like. I don't like everyone else being a reflection of me politically and ethnically. So being in an area of both racial and political diversity is nice.

Probably Hollywood. And all the political corruption. And open pedophilia. And the wealth of a certain group of people who always try to deflect their issues by calling it "anti-Semitism."
Yeah, I'm not religious, but Joss Whedon was right when he said the gateway to Hell is in Los Angeles, on Buffy. At least in the worst parts of the Middle East, they aren't having as much sex with minors as they do on Sepulveda Boulevard. Hell, even China and North Korea have better morals than that!
Hollywood is literally the worst place on Earth in my opinion, and southern California is just extension of Hollywood/LA. Not that San Francisco is any better; it's equally sh*tty, pun intended.
because we live in the best state in the nation and we’re typically more interesting and more attractive. we don’t make the rules lol.

I'd say the fact that most californian's are often two faced or in the rare case three faced. They just give what they think the outside world wants to see. Its a perfect example of how the American Dream is a scam XD. Especially with the the over glorified costs of living in California. Sure you have a 130K annual paycheck but 100K of that is going to RENT ROFL.
Southern California is not for people with thin skin or people without ambitions. If you don't like it here then leave, we have plenty of other people who like it here.
Unless you’re going to sell your soul to Hollywood, why stick around? Elections aren’t going to fix that place it’s only going to get worse and worse.
I grew up in SoCal. It was terrible back then and has only gotten worse since I left. I still have family there and visit 2 - 3 times a year, and every time I am even more thankful I chose to leave.
Hollywood and the entitled 1% gives it that stigma. Go south of Orange County and you will see the true non stigma of California.
They all are operating under the delusion that they will be “discovered” by some casting agent one day and hit it big.
State full of people seldom dialed into reality. You don't need to grow up. You can move to california.
It's because all we do here is go surfing and smoke weed.
Im not that shallow
