Did you notice how, almost like on cue, at the same time (almost to the minute) all "mainstream media" started blabbering about how "Trump wants to get rid of the constitution "?

why are they blasting this fake news now? December 9 - 10 - 11 - ? ? There's no election around the corner. Midterms are over. Next presidential is two years away. But regardless all the different networks have all their different reporters read the same script (as usual) . They all tell the viewers (in slight variations) that Trump want to "terminate the constitution" why?

There is nothing to gain at this moment in time. Everyone dumb enough to believe that Trump (of all people!) Wants to do something this un-American are already hard-core democrat and nothing will change that for those people - not even the current ongoing collapse of America 🇺🇸

And while we're at it: how the heck is this coordinated? It's almost scary!!! If I were a conspiracy nutcase I'd definitely believe the idea of an Orwellian overlord who wrote exactly what to say, and gave the "go" when to.

Look at the hunter biden (the crackhead and billionaire) laptop story. They all said "Russia 🇷🇺 Russia 🇷🇺 Russia 🇷🇺 " at the same time, and they also admitted it was true at the exact same time (9 days after the midterms) . Guys, do you honestly think different reporters investigated this for 23 months and all suddenly came to the same conclusion simultaneously...

I'll answer for the far left democrats: yes of course. What say the rest of you who can actually think for yourself?

This I write as a Republican who is no fan of Mr. Trump. It is well to recall that Mr. Trump's political style is in the populist - he is not a conservative - tradition. Thus is mostly bombast and bluster, leavened by a dose of self-interest tarted up as rhetoric on behalf of "the people."

In short, Mr. Trump no doubt said what he said both for the emotional catharsis it gave him and his staunchest supporters and because he had not thought through how it might be taken. He feels persecuted and his staunchest supporters ditto.

It being recalled that the nature of populism, as such, is not a coherent political philosophy or ideology but rather the satiation of the envy and resentment that permeates the culture. Indeed, whatever their sentiments, the American public tends to speak more highly of their Constitution than they grasp its structure, purpose and underlying philosophy.

It has been well said that the trajectory of Presidents from Lincoln, both Roosevelts, Coolidge, Eisenhower and Reagan to Mr. Trump and Mr. Biden - both populist politicians - disproves the theory of evolution. Just so.

It is not likely Mr. Trump had the whit to understand the implications of what he was saying. He said what he said because it felt good to say it and because the populist ethos is such that anything that denies the "will of the people" - that will being interpreted through the prism of the person making the charge that the "people" are being thwarted - is anti-democratic and must be abolished.

It is pure drivel. Still, it would be grand good fun to have Mr. Trump or Mr. Biden read a few pages out of The Federalist Papers - the speeches and articles that James Madison, John Jay and Alexander Hamilton wrote to justify the Constitution. This including the following: Madison would write, debate within government would "refine and enlarge the public views and give direction to the willfulness of the people." Hence, checks and balances, which would "supply by opposite and rival interest the defect of better motives."

Having the "people" and their self-proclaimed advocates like Mr. Trump and Mr. Biden read that and seeing their reactions would be grand good fun. Politics is, to say no more, far more complicated than they think.

Thus did Mr. Trump appear to advocate he abolition of the Constitution. In his bombast, he uses words not to express serious ideas, but to satisfy emotional catharsis. Such is the age the American public has brought upon themselves - all in the name of their own self-perception of their own virtue.

Well when you say that you want to terminate the constitution its fair to quote you.

The laptop thing was investigated to death, without a clear chain of evidence there's not much you can do.

On the other hand the Twitter files do look like a smoking gun. It could certainly hurt Biden when all the details come out, that maybe why the constitution statement is being pushed to bury the Twitter files. I know the left hasn't even heard about them. Just as the right didn't hear about the constitution statement until the left had blown it up.

If you can't tell, I'm politically independent and depending on the issue I may fall on either side of the political spectrum. I ger my news from multiple sources including left and right leaning sources.

Welcome to the latest Republican strawman, kids. Let's break this down without the hysterics, shall we? The shortened headlines being used have been "Trump wants to terminate the Constitution". The implication from that is to terminate it entirely, which he did not say, but let's not lose sight of what he meant.

Now let's talk about a) his claim and b) what should be done about it.

a) His claim remains that the election was a massive fraud and that "Big Tech" was in on it along with the Dems, the DNC, etc., only NOW it's a "revelation" that has been revealed to be FACT. Obviously, it has not, but his idea is that "since this is REALLY the case", we need to either void the election and declare HIM the winner, or have another election. And, because of the "type and magnitude" of this massive fraud, it "allows for", in other words "warrants and demands" ----

b) "the termination of all rules, regulations and articles (that would cover any laws in any state), even those found in the Constitution."

So plainly, again without the histrionics, he's calling for the rules, regs, articles of the Constitution to be terminated - at the very minimum - pertaining to Federal elections, based on his own unproven theories which have been rejected by every court in the land, including the SCOTUS with his hand picked members.

It was yet another incredibly stupid remark in a never ending chain of stupid remarks. Everyone seems to be missing the point here. The headline grabber is like all headlines - it's designed to pull you into the story. There isn't a news outlet that's innocent of this. Is it "fake" because he never uttered the exact words "terminate the Constitution"? Decide for yourself, but that's really not what's important here.

I can't understand why the leftoids would even be worried about this!! That IS what they've wanted for a VERY long time and Joe's been wiping his ass with it for the last 2 years!! So, what would it bother them if Trump did it since, that's EXACTLY what they want? If that's his plans, he should be getting 1000% democrat vote, just like Joe supposedly did last time.
