Do we really need the police and military?

I am not saying that police and military are good or bad. Their like people, a mixture of both, but their all under the control of the government. We know we cannot trust the government no matter which sides in office. The police exist, not to protect and serve YOU, but to protect and serve the law. The military aren’t for when someone comes knocking on our interests, their for when we need to save the governments interests.

It might not be such a bad thing to smack a fool in the mouth for talking shit to teach em not to talk shit. It might be more effective if we allow our parents to charge the gunman in schools with their own guns. We probably wouldn’t constantly be at war if we didn’t always have to interfere in international affairs. We might be better off looking out for ourselves at this point.

We do need the cops. Most people are not equipped to do battle in the streets to protect themselves, their property and their families. I purchased some firearms this year but really hope I never have to use them. I would rather have the cops come and take out the trash for me.

The cops rarely making it in time ya know. When people lost trust in the police even the liberals bought more guns.

I k ow everyone thinks more guns means more crime… but I argue everything balances out and good guys with guns are more effective then bad police with guns at least.

Take a look at what's happened historically when one or the other is missing. Believe me, we'd be a LOT worse off without a dedicated force. That doesn't mean they don't have problems, or couldn't benefit from reforming in various ways, though.

Yes and no, yes you need some kind of institution capable of scaring away and otherwise dealing with people who want to tell us what to do.

But that institution doesn't have to be a large standing army.

We could rely much more than we do on a militia system for most of what the military and police now do.

Either way they would be what we today call a army/police force that exist essencly to prevent others from making themselfs into a kind of goverment (using force against the people).

However organizing the large bulk of said force among citizens who have other jobs means our political leaders would find it that much more difficult to convince said citizens to go off risking their lives and freedom over the politians personal agenda.

This would be most aparent in the area of policing. Its a lot harder to convence the common man to go get into a fight with anther guy over what he beleives or eats, than it is a Goverment fulltime emplyee who's lifelyhood depends on the politican's good grase.

The only thing I hate about the police is how they 100% are there more for the elite and corporate interests than they are to "protect and serve" the everyday people, nowadays. Maybe it's because I grew up in Philly, but the unspoken rule was "police are only ever there to punish and hurt people." Some of those people, like criminals, might fully deserve that, but some of them, like law-abiding civilians, might not. But I've literally NEVER once seen the police as "there to help you and keep you safe." That's rich people sh*t. THEY have the police serving them, but I never once had that.

That's also why the mentality where I'm from always was, "you're better off protecting yourself than calling the police. The police are NOT THERE TO HELP YOU."

However the police cannot keep up with crimes as their committed in major areas… if that were to break out across the states order collapses.

Also not like they weren’t the direct cause of BLM riots anyway. Truthfully I don’t blame the police but they act as their ordered not as their position dictates. Their yes men that will happily cost Americans their careers and even arrest innocents over lies and god given rights.

If we were allowed to openly defend ourselves and our neighbors we wouldn’t need police. There’s a reason nobody invades America. Everyone has a gun we got a military in our citizens.
