The national divorce would be kind of tricky to pull off, but I think this would be pretty easy. And if this works, I can see it spreading across the United States.

Really the concept is, no representation. Just because someone gets to vote, doesn't mean they are represented if the other side always wins. Like Obama saying he represented all of us, but lied about it, then Biden intentionally attacking rural America on day 1, hadn't even pretended to care about rural America.
I think it is a great idea, in fact if it happened all across the country. Despite the fact that the vast majority of the country is conservative, it would help a lot across the board for both sides.
One only needs to look at the election map of country to see just how red the USA really is.

Liberals could do more of what they want and conservatives more of what they want. It would even be better if there was different federal governments so the liberals could be the socialist paradise they want, like Venezuela.
Something about big cities make people socialist and stupid. They think population numbers is all that matters and everything that works in big cities will also work in the country.
I've literally had a big city Democrats tell me in ultra Rural America I should take the bus, the non existent bus or mass transit system and he said, not his problem that is a local problem if it doesn't exist.
I know it won't happen though, because with the exception of West Virginia, what is required by the US constitution, liberal states won't give up land. They simply like to subjugate those conservatives.
Having two federal governments would be an amazing idea. I think that between the red and the blue team, this scares the blue team much worse. Tomorrow, the leader of the free world will be involved in an Easter egg hunt, and the secret service will be in those bunny outfits making sure he doesn't say anything
I think he's the perfect guy to lead the blue team. But for the red team, I think we need either DeSantes or Trump.
These secession efforts are mostly political theater. To change state boundaries, both affected state legislatures would need to approve it and then the US Congress. What state is going vote to give up population and voluntarily reduce its number of apportioned House seats, especially to a state controlled by the opposing party? I can’t see it ever happening. Putting these non-binding resolutions on the ballot are basically feel good measures for minority party voters.
I was looking more for your personal feelings about the matter.
And yet you focused your attention on it and can't answer the question. What a rock star you are. Go NOT focus your attention on other questions you don't want to focus your attention on. lol
I know of a few states that would be better off in trade. For example Missouri has already suggested giving St Louis to Illinois, offer it in trade for most of southern Illinois and both sides win.
Illinois gets a dying city to kill off even faster while Missouri gets to bring life back to hundreds of miles of rural Illinois.
Texas would be far better off giving El Paso to New Mexico in exchange for reclaiming much of Eastern New Mexico.(was originally Texas).
The trouble for Oregon is no part of that state wants to be under the thumb of portlandia.
The real problem with Oregon is geographically its really 2 different states on either side of the cascade.
Eastern Oregon will never be like western Oregon, and always geographically and economically more like the rest of the western interior States.
As such Eastern water and urban centric polices will always be very harmful to the rural way of life eastern Oregon landscape and limited water can support.
@monorprise
Limited water?
@pickletree The cascades like all tall mountains acts as a rain shadow, this makes western Oregon very wet temperate rain forest while denying eastern Oregon much water.
So yes water is a key issue making them very different in the ways of life they must follow, and thus also what kind of laws they can afford.
If the State goverment were content to remain very high level and only make laws that equally effect both states as it generally was for much of Oregon's history this would not be as much of a problem.
However modern political ignorance of economic diversity and ever more intrusive ideology makes too irresistible for state or even federal politicians to restrain themselfs to a respectful area of power.
The abolition of our State's Republican form of Goverment by the Federal court in Reynolds v. Sims in 1964.. Made it impossible for states to even institutionally confine themselfs to relevant domains.
As such redrawing the borders of said power to better reflect geographic and thus cultural and economic reality is the only solution.
The coastal counties south of Coos Bay should also join as they're conservative. I think it's more symbolic and they don't actually believe it will actually go anywhere. However, I do agree with the concept. And I would totally support doing this in California as well. I think it's bullshit that such a large portion of a state's population should live under a government they didn't elect. The Left says they care about minority rights, well where are the rights of the Conservative minority in these states?
I like your answer because you were able to focus on the concept and not nitpick about whether this is going to happen or not. When antifa was terrorizing Western Washington and Western Oregon, Trump asked if he could step in and solve it overnight.
Of course both liptard governors said no, they don't want Trump's help. They would prefer the anarchy and the burning buildings.
Idaho doesn't have a retarded governor like that. So I can totally see why these red counties want to join with Idaho.
It was completely different in California. They were chanting, "Not my President!" But then when we had that dam failure and all those wildfires, California Democrats were saying that as our President, he's obligated to give us Federal assistance. I asked some girl on Facebook if he's not their President why is she asking him for money and her friend started cursing me out😂
If I was Trump, I would have told Newsome to go fuck himself. But the only reason we got the Federal aid money is because La Malfa met with Trump and told him that the areas that were effected voted for Trump😂
It was the same thing with the COVID relief funds. They were shitting on Trump, yet had no qualms about reaping the benefits of his policies.
At least one black guy on YouTube had enough class to admit his double standard. He said, "I hate Trump, but I can't complain about free money."😂
It sure would be nice to split the country in half and let them have Biden and we could have Trump.
YES! I've been saying that for the past few years. I think that would be the best option. People who believe diversity is strength are delusional. Almost every major world conflict has occurred because of diversity. You can't just throw two people with completely different views and values together and expect them to get along
Diversity is a failed experiment.
The problem is, it seems that everyone has a right to have their own communities, except White people.
Why doesn't anyone ever shove minorities into Asian or Black communities. But if a place is "too White", that's a bad thing. I've never heard anyone complain about a place being "too black" without being labeled a "racist"
The TV show Friends recently went under attack by the woke for having there be five white friends. How dare five white people become friends!
That sounds about right. Some snowflakes actually complained that "Shark Week" is racist, because it had too many White scientists named "Mike".
I wish I was making this up, but I'm not
😂😂😂
I don't know why it's so hard for them to grasp that certain groups of people don't like certain activities.
I think THEY'RE the racists for wanting to put blacks in shark cages😂
There's a really funny YouTube video, but I can't remember the guy's name. He said there needs to be more equality in the workforce. He says it's not fair that 90% of the porta potty cleaners are men. And something like 95% of the people who clean up roadkill along the highway are men. He said it's just not fair to the women. 😂😊
LMAO! That's a great one!
The main comedian is Ryan Long.
Go on YouTube and punch in what " when wokes and racists actually agree on everything"
Once you find that you'll find a whole bunch of his videos and one will be the one about job equality.
I will later 😉
Oh, I've seen this guy before.
I know that video was meant to be satirical, but it's actually kind of true.
So the question the other day about the boundaries of US states being moved to accommodate political views/parties, appears to be commencing.
It will be interesting to see how far this goes.
I can't see people picking up and taking/leaving their businesses and belongings to live within the boundary of a new political state? The cost would be enormous.
I gather the cost of moving the state boundary of Idaho will be at a great expense to Idaho/former Oregon tax payers, alone.
Either you live in the county joining Idaho, or you don't. This won't work for everyone.
@OfMiceandMen
The rain shadow of the cascade mountains really do make Oregon into 2 very different States with very different geographic conditions, thus economic capabilities and cultural requirements.
They never should have been a single state, the border should have been at the cascade mountain range to reflect long term geographic and economic reality.
Eastern politicians 200 years ago however didn't recognize this fact when they drew the state lines.
@monorprise So, you're saying the boundary between the states would have been better defined based on the geography/geology of the mountains to share the natural resources? Would one state end up with better resources than the other. I am unfamiliar with Oregon, would it have enougn farmland to support itself, or would it have to rely on Idaho?
@OfMiceandMen People can live and support themselves on both sides of the cascades and each offers different economic opportunities.
But what works well for one side does not nessarly work well for the other because of the relative lack of water and geography.
Geography is the main reason cultures and ways of life had to diversify around the world to meet their unique conditions.
For example in this country for decades a green lawn was valued as a sign of status, but a green lawn is inappropriate for the inland west.
It represents a wast of water that said regions simply can't support long term. This is not to say that theses regions can't grow crops but they need to use said water more wisely, such as via drip irrigation, more water efficient plants, or moving to ranching.
This lower population density way of life also means things like law enforcement is less efficient, as such people need to be able to take care of themselfs.
@monorprise The lower density and mountains would certainly be something I would be attracted to. Regardless, of the boundaries Oregon and Idaho sound like a nice place to live.

The problem is Oregon's map was poorly drawn by easterner in Washington D. C. in insurance of Oregon's geography.
Geographically the cascades dividing Oregon in half really do make it 2 different states, With Western Oregon being a temperate rain forest able to support large and dense populations while Eastern Oregon is a relatively dry desert like most of the western interior.
They would both benefit by begin separate at this point as portlandia voters seem too ignorant of geography and convinced of their own superiority to recognize the real differences in the states create very different needs.
The east simply can't support the kind of law and culture demanded by the west.
It's not without precedent: Kaskaskia, Illinois, is west of the Mississippi. It didn't used to be, but the river overflowed its banks, and when it came back down, the people found themselves in Missouri. A push from the people changed the legal definitions to the old border lines, but the town still has a Missouri ZIP code.
Also, West Virginia.
Yes, I've heard it's not a new thing.
That's what I told exitseven to do when he complained about his state... Maryland and Virginia counties are looking to split off and join West Virginia, Oregon and Washington counties are looking to split off and join Idaho. 80-90% of California is trying split off from them and form New California. Obviously states with urban communist governments are disconnected from reality and no longer capable of governing the states they are responsible for. Thus counties need to secede from their current states and either join a neighboring state or form a new state.
I think it's a great idea and a great solution.
It is. It's the American way. We're competing for everything else in life. If people run a poor government in one state, and the state next door is offering a better product then why not take your business elsewhere? We all have private property rights. If the majority of property owners in a given county want to change who governs them, then they should make that happen.
Exactly!
I support it. Conservative areas should join with other conservatives. Ps. The mods are harassing and censoring anybody that goes against Democrats or Biden. 2 questions of mine hidden just today.
Let me guess, trolling or spamming? Lol
You can be as offensive as you want just as long as you're bashing Trump.
It's hard to imagine how someone could devote so much of their mental energy on hating single person.
I wouldn't have a problem with that. I don't live in either state, but I'm all for seeing the radical left deal with it's own failures and allowing conservatives the freedom to stop supporting it with their taxes.
I agree with you 100%.
It can't happen unless the legislature of those states agrees, AND Congress, and the president would all have to agree too, so the only way possible is if we get a conservative president and Senate next election. Idaho's legislature already approved of the idea.
It probably should happen. It probably won’t.
The only thing stopping it from happening, is the lack of will.
Well, there is also the fact that the oligarchs who control 90% of America’s wealth dominate all important social institutions, own the opinion forming mass media, and manipulate procedural outcomes during primaries and hold the “freest and fairest elections ever,” now with legalized ballot stuffing, to prevent most anti-establishment candidates from getting into office, and flood the country with immigrants to replace the people who don’t vote the “right way.” Common people can have all the will they want, but until there are backed up by an alternate elite with resources to fight the current elite, there little chance for real change.
True
It would be a good start to making America two separate countries.
I hear people all the time saying the third party would solve everything. I don't see that happening in America. Americans are just two polarized.
I support it. I wish Arkansas would cede Memphis, too.
It could very easily happen.
Half of each state is.
A better solution is greater federalism and localism. The Federal government does too many things the states should do, and the states do too many things the counties should do.
Honestly didn't even know idaho was on that side of the map
Haven't heard of it until now
I hope they succeed and set a precedence for the rest of the country.
I give this country a few more years before it comes crashing down
Biden is doing his best to make that happen.
Well hopefully he does his best to maintain our country in one piece when we need it the most
I won't hold my breath.
Me neither 😂
I like it. I think next step is states leaving union all together.
What would that achieve?
Red counties want to be part of a red state so they get representation.
Rather stupid.
It would eventually change the entire structure of the country, especially if Congress and both states approved, then other ones doas well, essentially would divide the country even further and change representation in the house.
It actually makes a lot of sense just look at a satellite image of Oregon and you will see the rain shadow of the Cascade Mountains really made Oregon into 2 very different states.
Each half of Oregon has a very different geographic reality creating a different economic capabilities and cultural requirements.
Put simply the more desert like east will never have the water to support the kind of population densities and politics demanded by the water rich urban east.
The reality is they have to govern themselfs much more like most of the rest of the western interior embracing low population densities and politics of self-reliance necessary to address that that fact.
