Would you move to another country because of bad economy?

I'm not a nationalist at all but i really REALLY love the city I'm currently living in. But our economy is terrible, enflation is more than 150%, most of the working population works for minimum wage and i started to feel like this country is draining all my blood.

Would move to another country in that situation?

Yes, I would move for money. In fact, I live where I live partly because of money. It's also perfect weather and that's part of why our economy and standard of living is so high. But there is money to be made here, and it's also a very desirable area to live, so I stay. If I could move somewhere else though, with a better community and more friends/family close by, I would. I am kind of working now toward just having more vacation time so I can travel and visit the people I love, but still make the beaucoup bucks.

I would not live in a country where I was living paycheck to paycheck, or where my money was not sufficient when traveling to another country. Travel is important to me, and I enjoy going to other countries where I live lavishly and spend 1/4 or less of what I would just on my normal living expenses at home.

Don't forget that you're also going to have to learn the language, customs and adapt to the prices and processes there as well.

Iots of people come to the UK and UAE with dreams and a bit of cash. But forget that setup and costs are high in both, unless you have family or friends to rely on.

I already have a remote job with good income but its only good because there is a big exchange rate in my country. If I move somewhere else i would have to work double times more i guess.

Yes. For politicians and elites are the people just human resources. It's job politics and industry to ensure proper living standards if they want motivated workings force and prosperous consumption. If they fail it's time to say good bye. Of course if too many human resources flee, people in power won't hesitate to turn a country in a concentration camp like North Korea, that's why you shouldn't wait too long.

I like to visit other countries but not sure I would want to live there long term. But I have a positive view of places like Germany and Australia and Russia.

I think Russia would be hard to live because of the war, and unfourtunetly most of the Russians are racist. I know a lot of them bc my city (Antalya) is like a little Moscow 😂

My grandpa took business trips in Russia because he was an elite scientist and he said the Russians were very nice to him and provided him with three months of free medical care and my grandpa is Chinese.

Immigration would be my last choice, when there is no way to have a good life and the people around me are unwilling to stand up against the government and demand their rights. Only then, I would emmigrate. But that doesn't mean I hate my country.

And I would try to ensure that life will really be better and shinier where I am going to emmigrate to.

As a youth you should be willing to jump between countries for a job and better life, the problem is that you usually can't afford it. When you are a bit older you have settled and have resource but they are usually tied down. Right now every country is going down at the same time. So where would you go?

I have the reverse idea.

I am in Germany and economically we are doing OK. Better than most countries I reckon.

However I like the idea of becoming a digital nomad in Thailand and work remotely for european/western companies and being an independent contractor. I'll live like a king over there. Maybe even close enough to how gangster rappers show off their mansions in LA and Ferraris. Except I will have the sandy beach and cyan clear water only a walking distance away.

That depends on country actually. In my country (turkey) exchange rate difference became too much, like when i was in high school 1 Euro was 3 lira but now its 20 😂 And now its not a cheap country to live even if you get paid in Euro's.

Me and my boyfriend make like 6k Euro's per month and with that money we were literaly living like a Royal family 2 years ago 😂, but now house rents starts with 1000 Euro, tech and cars are more expensive than Europe because of the taxes and almost every other thing we buy has a same price with Europe. Like, our salarys worth more now bc Turkish lira lost value but we still became poorer in 2 years.

I dont know about thailand but bad economy doesn't means its a cheap country.

Nah our total income is 6k. I dont work too much because im studying at uni for second time so i get paid like 1,5 or 2 Euro's. My boyfriend gets between 4-5k.

My point was, we were really rich 2 years ago but now we're mid class because everyting became expensive. 2 years ago you could come to Antalya and you could rent an amazing house for 250 Euro's but now you have to pay 1000€ for an average house

I mean, if this happened here, also can happen at thailand in future i guess?

Yeah, you got a good point there. But this video is 3 months old and I saw today another video, which was uploaded literally 1 day ago. Pricing there didn't seem to change since. However I don't know what the house pricing in Thailand historically was.

A patriot person is a person whom seeks the best for their country. A nationalist is a person whom thinks their country is the best!

It's an idea, but when times justify a massive change like that, chances are whatever country you move to will have a negative economy too. Even worse you as an American will be the target as Americans are known for being rich in other parts of the world.

Tbh almost every countrie's economy is collapsing right now but some of them are collapsing a lot faster. If I managed to survive in Turkish economy i think it would be a lot easier to survive in Europe or US.

You have to think carefully. I regret that I left Korea. It's not that I love the county but I had to start new in a strange place from the begining. Everything I learned wasn't working. I had to learn from the begining and I still struggle with the things. Everything is new. I just wish I stayed in Korea. It's just that it's so easy to navigate things in Korea giving me an advantage.
