I'd think it's larger ESG type companies needing to meet target, culling, and knowing the target will change year to year.
They have more at stake meeting those scores than regular business nets so it makes sense. You're talking about a billion or two at stake when they do or don't meet that score. Think of the whole get woke, go broke, but how many companies made bank with profits and investments before now?

Sure, they may emit some methane, but have you ever stopped to think about all the joy they bring to this world? The pleasure they bring to those who fondle them, the comfort they bring to those who rest their heads on them, the temptation they bring to those who admire them from afar.
I mean, think about it - if we get rid of all those dairy cows, we'll be depriving ourselves of the melons, the hooters, the boulders, the knockers, the jugs, the bosoms, the tatas, the fun bags - the list goes on and on. And for what? To reduce some dang methane emissions?

Most of the man made climate change is caused by fossil fuels. If we really want to stop climate change we have to ditch fossil fuels like coal and oil and switch to solar power and wind power. Actual math shows that even if every human on Earth switched to vegan it would only reduce the carbon footprint by %10. Also, "carbon footprint" was invented by oil companies to try and shift blame on to consumers.

It would serve The Irish government right if farmers sell off all of their stock and claim Set-aside payments Re; EU Regulation (EEC) 1272/88).
