Does knowing the outcome influence people's decisions?

Does your decision get influenced if you knew what the outcome is?

Example:

If there's a poll that most women are materialistic and only care about money. You disagree, but the poll shows that the majority agree with the statement. Does this make you hesitant to voice your opinion against it or even rethink why most people (men as well as women) agree?

Yes. I take into consideration what others have to say.

I think not knowing the outcome was probably better for me in my life. Cause the things that I cared about when I was younger do not matter to me now and the things I care about now did not matter to me when I was younger. For example - people I used to find ugly I now find attractive and people I used to find attractive, I now find ugly. People I used to dislike I now like and people I used to respect, I now dislike. I would not have wanted to know that in the future the things that mattered to me when I was younger were not achieved or that the things that I enjoyed when I was younger would not be possible when I got older. Like I don't dine at restaurants unless my friends invite me cause there are diseases going around the world that were not around years before. I don't walk to or from church at night the way I used to, with increasing crime, its not safe to leave the house alone at night. I don't chase after the guys I used to like - they don't impress me anymore and I think I can find better options. My cousin wanted to visit Toronto for a vacation where I'm supposed to hang out with them and I told them I don't feel comfortable or safe using Toronto subways right now.

It's too easy to manipulate people with polls, studies, and incessant propaganda. Look at how badly some people fell for the "pandemic" narrative and the jabs. Look at how many people think carbon dioxide is harming the planet. Look at how many people are falling for the notion that men can be women and women can be men.

I do my own research and formulate my own opinions. I don't care about consensus.

Of course it makes a difference in so many different facets of life. You won't work as hard in a temp position as you will being a full time employee, you know how that ends.

Same with if you go out with a girl, but she tells you she's leaving town at the end of the week. Knowing the outcome will never motivate you to work harder or invest more, even if the outcome is a good one. Like if you told all future millionaires that they would succeed to be millionaires, for sure, with a picture of that future, very few of them would continue on to succeed.
