words can hurt but we can't measure in contrast to real pain certain hormones are released, so when they say "you hurt my feelings" and "i am very offended" it is almost always only to manipulate, but not real pain and if not a lie still less than a physical slap or stone. and the target should say "words can't injure me" and ignore the words.

There is a punishment in Iran, called 'stoning'. Basically, they dig you in a hole leaving your head sticking and throw stones in your head. Until you die. So, did you change your mind or you still think what hurts more?
