Those who are NOT conservatives, how do you feel about the direction of society and sexuality?

I am not a conservative. I am a liberal. Always have been always will be I'm sure.

But I have a problem with the way society is going sexually.

For example I was watching some porn recently. I'm having a great time, I scroll on the site u was browsing, and I see an advertisement for grandma porn.

Seeing this felt as though I had been stabbed with a knife in my psyche. It was so horrific and disgusting that I feel like I was traumatized by it.

This example is an extreme one. But I feel like that is the nature of sexuality.

Society used to reject homosexuality. And that is wrong. But I now see LGBT people being like "ew I could never be straight."

And that's fine. It's interesting how sexualities which don't align with yours are repulsive to you.

And I think that is natural. I think that sexuality is like a bookstore. You find the book you want, by searching for the genre or in this case, gender, of the person you are sexually attracted to.

And we are repulsed by the thought of sex with someone we are not attracted to.

This is why I believe sexuality should remain behind closed doors. Sexuality is harmful. Witnessing things you don't want to see is shocking and disturbing.

I know that people on my side of the aisle see it differently.

I study feminism. Essentially one particular feminist perspective believes that we should actually open sexuality up. To teach kids how to have sex. How to engage in BDSM.

They see it as education that will benefit adults who are sexual beings.

I don't know if I agree with that or not. I still think encountering sexualities that are repulsive is damaging. The reason the sexuality is repulsive is not because it is objectively repulsive. It's like food. You don't want to eat food you don't like. It grosses you out.

You don't want to have sex with someone you don't like. They become repulsive.

Also feminists think that BDSM sexuality would disappear in a communist society where the concept of rape and male power are gone.

So in a sense I can see the benefit of educating kids. But there needs to be objective limits. I don't know how you go about defining those.

I’d love to see a balance between being sex-positive but also discerning and mindful about who you’re being sexual with, and also how we’re projecting sexuality in society. I don’t believe it should be shamed, but it also doesn’t need to be shoved in everyone’s face.

I have the 1990s views of sexuality and relationships, minus any religious aspects.

Looks matter.

Personality, intelligence, skills, hobbies, and interests matter.

Love matters.

Casual sex is stupid, polyamory is stupid, anal sex is stupid, and sex before at least being engaged is stupid.

There are only 2 genders, genders are only descriptions of biological sex organs, no one is born in the wrong body, and people who have sex change operations are insane.

Gold diggers, whores, and sluts are not dating/relationship material.

Just last week we've seen the news about the increse in prison rape cases because apparently they now put men in women prisons simply because these men choose to identify as women.

And even if you play the role of the objective and non biased person, both sides will hate you.

Not because you're objective or playing devils advocate or anything like that.

No, they hate you because if you dont parrot back the exact same beliefs to them, they automatically categorize you into the same category of their political enemy.

Have you ever heard of a steel man argument? I know you will like this concept.

It's basically where you spell out your opponent's argument so well, that you say it better than they do, before attacking it.

It's the opposite of a straw man argument.

Now go to reddit and search up steel man argument and you will see it mentioned like 2 times or something.

That is indicative of the world at large.

It's a terrifying reality honestly. But what can you do? Nothing.

I just hope we figure out a way to make that happens without so much violence from one of the proverbial four horseman of the “apocalypse”-war, famine, disease, death.

But the thing is, I’m not sure those people are all that happy with the way they’re not living wholesome lives either. All this shit I see in Hollywood media is either an outcry or a deterrent that being rich ain’t all it’s cracked up to be. That’s probably why donating to charity makes people feel so good. It’s helps someone and it unburdens responsibility of money.

I think a lot of men feel that. It's not only the manosphere. It's just men in general. But I maintain a balanced perspective rather than raging at people for not believing what I believe lol.

I know other people will reply to you that you must be insecure or a misogynist.

I think most men feel this way. For some it goes away. I don't think that is due to moral superiority on their part.

We live in a complex world. I don't believe in these narratives people like to spew.
