When you were growing up who did you think was cool but as an adult you’re taught they’re losers?

I thought cashiers were cool. The long nails and shit. Counting money. Typing into the register.

now it’s not so cool. People look down on cashiers. Also I’ve done it and my social anxiety makes it less fun. Dealing with humans sucks.

"You're taught they are losers" ? That's nasty. Everyone is mostly doing the best they can with what they've got. What people earn is mostly a matter of luck -- genetics and circumstance. I'm well paid because I was born with a talent that is in high demand and short supply. I don't consider myself better than others because of it.

Guys that did construction work. i used to think it would be cool to come to work in a hard hat and work on big skyscrapers. Now all the guys I knew in the trades have bad knees, bad shoulders and a bad back. Most have cirrhosis of the liver too.

Maybe they worked too hard and drank too much. But i respect a man that works and makes money.

Yes, they get beat up pretty bad. All repetitive injuries.

These guys are paid really well and could not make that kind of money anyplace else. i think they know that going in but when you are young it is hard to imagine you will be old someday.
