Thoughts on right wing victory in Netherlands election?

Anty-immigration and anty-EU party PVV ("party for freedom") won the general election in the Netherlands. They are expected to win +/- 37 seats in a 150 seats chamber.

Even though PVV didn't get the majority of seats and would have to form a coallition with centrist-liberal parties in order to rule, the results are still considered a huge blow to EU in one of the most liberal countries of Europe.

Europe, and especially Netherlands, are so far left, that anything is considered "right- wing" to them. From what I've read about the PVV, they are hardly "right-wing". They are moderate. Compared to much of the world they are downright liberal.

Liberalism in many places has gone so far left, that people are moving away from it. It reminds me of the late 90s in the US. Being publicly liberal was a liability for politicians. People started call it "the L-word". Even high level Democrats started saying that. They knew it was a liability and backed off from the far left rhetoric.

The same reason because the American left is not called "left" or "socialists" but "liberals". Because the latter words in USA had bad connotations in 50s and 60s, so they declared themselves "liberals"

Not a surprise at all as a Dutch person, people got annoyed about us spending all our money on foreigners and european policies during an economic depression.

Well, the Dutch legislative chamber is very spread, so it's not sure if PVV would form a government (although it's the most probable).

Europe has been so far left and socialist/anti freedom for so long! Any victory the other direction toward liberty is a good thing.

And the EU is very corrupt. It needs to be taken out of every European country, like Brexit! National sovereignty and identity of each of these European countries has been compromised severely for a long time. The UN needs to be gone too! Kicked out of NY and removed from the USA! Amexit!

Left wing parties never take the hint. The people don't want unchecked immigration from the 3rd world of people that will have to be supported by the state and do not adhere to local laws.

Yesterday there was riots in Dublin after an immigrant stabbed some kids.

I wouldn't be surprised if this guy and his cronies is like our "anti-immigrant" PiS party, creating fear about danger of immigration but behind the curtains selling dozens of thousands EU working visas to people without any qualification but 3k bucks.
"Rightwing" Meloni government in Italy isn't better. I have the feel all so called right wing parties in EU aren't just controlled opposition to appease people until escalation leads to a kinetic conflict.

You'd be right to describe almost all sitting European governments as either Controlled-Opposition, Accelerationist or Bourgeois. The only places where this may be an exception use proportional representation. The two party system has facilitated ubiquitous betrayal of campaign promises.

I wasn't surprised at all. I already knew he was going to win. Many European countries are choosing far right candidates. Now the future of Europe and also the future of the European Union seems even more uncertain and alarming.

But it was their choice. There's nothing I can do.

Does the PVV support immigration, zero emissions policies, destroying farming, and other neoliberal EU policies? If not, then those would be good reasons to support them.

They are against immigration from Muslim countries and want "Nexit". O. Climate change they also seem to oppose it.

This is the result of the effect the wrong immigrants (muslims) have had. However, it is already too late. The invasion of the west is in full swing and it can't be stopped. The only solution is in the same vein as "the final" one. You know what I'm talking about and that would be horrific.

Between Argentina last week and now the Netherlands' it had finally gotten so bad because of liberal policies that they are voting for the populist candidates. Hopefully the trend continues all the way to Nov 2024.

The previous government actually fell because VVD (liberal party, biggest party in previous government) wanted to restrict immigration, when their junior partners in coalition disagreed. So I believe they would agree on immigration. But even with this they need more votes.
