Success? are we finally seeing the success in china population plan?

remember when china made a rule, one child per family. the goal was for slowing population growth. grow meaning more births than deaths is net growth of sum. for forty 40 years it grew by over ten million per year. adding to total.

1, was that bad? failing goal?

2, last year the total dropped. less were born than died. the population lessened to 1,411,000,000. if i had one penny for each chinese. one year is a change but not a trend.

again in 2023 the total dropped from 11m to 9m meaning births were 2 million less than deaths. was that good? succeeding at their goal?

I think their government made a mistake trying to control their population numbers to begin with. The reality is that there wasn’t actually much necessity for it because these sorts of things automatically sort themselves out.

sort themselves out? but no balance! as i bothered to quote FORTY years consistently adding millions, 400 million.
that is SO much that even at current rate -2m per year they can afford TWO HUNDRED years just to get to 1960 amout 990 million.

Maybe it worked but they should probably do that in India and Africa because it’s getting too populated for their economy to handle and food supply, maybe that’s why there is war, famine and disease in the world to balance it out

but the rule of family size violated principle of personal freedom and enforcement of such a limit would be tyrrany! i only ask if the result is good.
your ratio is correct. africa far less than asia but relative to infrastructure a giant problem.

waddyya mean affect economy? plenty of work there. less people means easier to get jobs.
also in big picture china gdp' GREW 5%. of a huge existing totAl.
