Is group think a possible reason for why a group of people has accepted a bad position?

i'm not entirely familiar with the concept of " group think " but aware of a group of people who know each other through work and have accepted this position which is so obviously wrong but they seem to think its ok somehow.

but the position they've accepted is obviously wrong infact its even illegal. so thats why the whole thing does not make any sense and the concept of group think comes to mind that perhaps there not thinking for themselves or something else in play

but to explain owner of business is engaging in discriminatory hiring practices and only hiring specific people well having to discriminate against anyone else he does not want to hire there. everything i've read about what he is doing is clearly not allowed and violating peoples rights and discriminatory

yet this group of people who work there sit back and seem to think nothing at all wrong is going on , which is why i can't help but think that maybe " group think " is a possible explanation as to why no one says anything about the owners habits

but why would a group of college/university educated young people think it was ok to engage is such obvious discrimination , i'm at a loss really , other possibility is owner has bought them off with $ money but how much money would it take for someone to turn a blind eye to such obviously wrong behaviour by the owner

Is group think a possible reason for why a group of people has accepted a bad position?
