Why Did This Guy In My Class Suddenly Start Talking to me? Does He Like Me?

So last week this guy in my class randomly started talking all of a sudden. Normally I take this as a sign he is initiating something whether it be friendship or a possible relationship. Well he always talks to me first thing before class starts and he always jokes around with me and when I'm not looking, I can sometimes catch him looking at him. And sometimes I catch myself looking at him too but not like omg I wish I was with him I just want to look at him (hopefully I don't sound like a stalker XD)

I'm a person who's never been good with relationships and I don't know if he likes me as a friend or if he thinks of me as more and I know I just met him last week but he went from talking to the guys around me to paying more attention to me and talking to me first thing in class. Every time there is group work he chooses me. Please help I'm such a relationship noob >.< I don't know as of now because lately I have been really wanting a boyfriend for some reason and I don't want to make a relationship if it's only because I wanted a boyfriend, I want to actually like a person x3

I would say, when someone starts talking to you, its always an interest off some sort, whether its a "hey we have something in common interest" or the "I like you I want to get to know you" type of interest. So just keep talking to him but instead of looking at it as a situation where you have to watch what you say to impress, just be yourselff instead and look at it as 2 human beings or 2 friends talking in order to take some weight offf ur shoulders.
