A guy asked for my number but hasn’t called although it’s been 24 hours. Is he interested?

So, there’s this guy in my class that suddenly came up to me and started talking. He then proceeded to mention how he’s not a text person and asked me if he could have my number. I denied at first because I’m not a call person but I eventually gave in upon his insistence. He then takes out a pen and asks me to write my phone number on his palm. So I wrote my number on his palm and that’s when he says “I possibly can not erase this ever.” He also asked me about what time I’d remain free and I said I’ll be free after 7. But now it’s been almost 24 hours and he still hasn’t called me. Is he not interested in me? If so, then why did he bother asking for my number that randomly?

24 hours is not very long but I would have texted you at the end of the evening that you gave me the number to confirm that I received and thank you for the good time together. That just me though...

it's an odd situation, tbh. maybe he intended to, or he just forgot? if you see him, ask him about it, but don't seem pushy. or just do what the other respondant said - if he hasn't called/texted in 3 days, either ask/forget about it
